This place is very small and quiet. There was only three chairs for them to work on. I went in on a Tuesday around 5pm and I was the only one there. Only one lady was working and she worked on chair #1. I love her. Shes very quiet but gentle and quick. If I havent gotten my eyebrows threaded in a while, it usually hurts a good amount when getting them cleaned, but it wasnt the case with her. Sure it stung, but it was the least painful experience I've ever had. I was out in about 5 min. She asked me if I wanted her to rub the alcohol thing over my eyebrows, as most places do, but I decided not to since I had makeup on and I had to go to work. Anyway, this is my new go to place for my brows! $5.99 is a steal and you get $1 off when you check in thru yelp on mondays and tuesdays!! read more

This place is such a find! Im really really picky about my eyebrows and I used to have to drive all the way to la to have my eyebrows waxed at a fancy place in. Every hills. They did an amazing job there and I didn't see anyone else besides them for 5 years, even when I would travel and be gone for months at a time I waited to see them. I stumbled in kaya because the price was so cheap! I was like well if it works it's only 10 min drive for me......WOW she did an amazing job!!!! My brows look beautiful! She was able to give me the exact look and shape I like and even did my lip too! I think everything altogether was only like 10$ ? 10-15$ ? With tip.....ya go here you'll love it and you'll keep coming back! So instead of spending 2 hours drinking (hour to la hour back) 55$ for waxing plus tip I spend 15$ and drive a total of 20 mins there and back....so glad I took a chance on this place!!! read more

Never too thick, never too thin, just right! And she always gives them a good arch. She also understands that my eyebrow hairs are curly and knows how to trim them. As a veteran waxer, I have a decently high pain tolerance. However, (despite how contradictory this may be), my skin is somewhat sensitive. I suppose I'm just good at blocking out the pain. :) I went on a Monday afternoon with a friend, and there was only one threader available. I have to admit, I was pretty happy that there was someone already in the chair. Every few seconds I snuck a peek at what she (the threader) was doing to the person. I didn't catch the customer's eyebrows, but she looked happy, which is a plus. And the threader seemed to know what she was doing. Once it was my turn, she asked me how I'd like my eyebrows. I almost want to give this place five stars for the staff member not raising HER eyebrows at my disastrous brows (a last wax gone wrong.... had to wait a month for my already ridiculously thin eyebrow hair to grow back.) I gave my specification (slight arch, not too thin), and off she went, with a new thing of thread. So yes, in case you're wondering, the place is sanitary. It's very, very, very clean.... and plays Bollywood/Indian music videos in the background. Which is kind of a plus---it's quite distracting from... Yes, the pain. It's not so bad (contrary to what some may say), but the pain is only moderately less than my tweezing each individual hair out (which is obviously a pain in the ass, hence why I go to professionals...). It's basically about five minutes of intense prickling. Not particularly "painful," but kind of uncomfortable. But it's completely worth it. (I went here with the Yelp voucher, but I would go even without.) The result was clean, beautiful... and yes, red. But the redness went away after about 10 minutes, and I don't feel like I'm going to break out, which is what usually happens when I get my eyebrows waxed. Note: If you start panicking, she notices and stops to ask you if you're okay. I thought that was rather considerate of her, considering that she told me to relax at least 3 or 4 times. (The truth was that when I was holding my eyebrow in place for her, my sunscreen got in my eye... which burns a thousand times more than eye threading ever could.) So yeah. I might be biased, because this is my first threading experience, but I think I prefer it to waxing (though I find waxing mildly less painful). It seems neater, and the work is more artistic. But just in case you're asking, yeah, I think I look good. In fact, I know I look good. Me and my eyebrows are ready to conquer the world. I have gotten my eye brows and upper lip threaded here twice. The lady who works here is super nice, and doesn't get irritated if I have to stop her from what she is doing to dry my tearing eyes when she threads sensitive areas. Overall, she does a pretty good job,, and I am in and out in 10 minutes. No appointment necessary. Price wise, i pay about 10 bucks for my eyebrows and upper lip. Pretty good service and prices too. Kaya threading in Brea is awesome IF Dhruvi provides your service. Dhruvi has been at this location since it opened in 2011. I get threaded here about every 2 weeks. I've been getting my threading done with her since 2011 and I'm always very happy with her technique as she is very gentle. She is also very kind and has provided great service not only to me but to my aunt, grandmother and friends. A few weeks ago Dhruvi was helping another client and had a long waiting line of customers so I decided to give the new lady, Monica, a try as she was just sitting there on her phone and not helping anyone. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with Monica's technique. She is very rough and pushes the thread very hard on the skin. She left me in pain, so red and caused me to break out in white pustules along the brows, upper lip and chin. After the bumps healed, my skin peeled for a few days. It took over a week for my skin to recover. I will never go back to Monica and I cannot recommend her. I feel bad to request Dhruvi when I know she has so many people waiting for her but I will wait for her because I know she will do a great job and not hurt me. So the five star rating I give is for Dhruvi ONLY. Please Dhruvi, never leave the Brea location! Otherwise I will have to look for another place to get threaded. read more

This is a great threading place. Before going to Kaya, I had never threaded my eyebrows before so I was a little afraid to go but a lot of friends recommended me to the Kaya studios in Rosemead and Pico Rivera. Those locations were too far for me to go to so I went to the one in Brea. I went on a Tuesday at around 6-7 in the evening and there was no wait at all. Dhruvi was the only person working. I told her that it was my first time getting my eyebrows threaded so she was very nice to explain to me that the first time is a bit painful but the pain will go away in future visits. I had my eyebrows done here this evening And I am impressed ! I've never had my brows looking this good , the woman who threaded them shaped them perfectly to stay masculine and natural and give a nice clean cut, attractiveness enhancing, well groomed appearance. The customer service is a bit different compared to other Salons and Spas my experience was similar to a tire pit stop where the crew whips off the tires, threads those bushy brows and throws a tissue at you and tells you to clean yourself up you filthy animal but in reality it was not that bad considering the end result 5 stars !! read more

I've been coming here for about 2 years. I'm not sure the name of the super nice lady that always threads my brows perfectly, but I'm assuming she is the owner since she is the only person there (along with her husband & daughter occasionally). She is very consistent in her work. I always leave happy & satisfied with great looking brows. The first time hurt a bit, but that is only cause I was a first timer. If it is crowded there is sometimes a wait because she is usually the only person working. But the wait goes by quick cause she is fast! Sometimes it takes such little time I'm worried she rushed through it, but then I inspect my brows & they always look perfect. I don't trust my brows to anyone else. Definitely recommend! read more

my brow shape was definitely better than before I came. however, I was a bit insulted when I came in without saying anything, and the lady in the second chair asked if I was there for eyebrows AND lips. obviously I was embarrassed so I got my lips done too. pretty good pricing! $6 brows, $5 lips. however, the lady's hands smelled weird and she made me hold my own eyebrows as she threaded them. Kaya is a no fuss threading studio- $6 for eyebrows cannot be beat! I recommend Druvi who works at the first chair. She is quiet but friendly, quick, and has a light touch. While she was out on a short maternity leave, I had the second chair lady thread my eyebrows once...she was rough and not very thorough. I stayed away until I knew Druvi had returned, lol. This place is a little gem...one that I miss so much as I've recently relocated out of state. I am quite particular about my eyebrows and was extremely nervous about letting anyone shape them. My first visit to Kaya was strictly for upper lip threading, which proved to be the perfect hair removal solution for me since my use of Retin-A prevents me from waxing and/or using hair removal creams. On my second or third visit, after seeing the beautiful eyebrows of many of Nitu's patrons, I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. Nitu did a beautiful job on my eyebrows!
