They clearly work off of commission.. after we talked with our last salesman, we ended up paying twice as much as our previous estimation... you can't return any of the tile which is what they sell you extra on! be careful going in, they can sense if you are new at the process, and ryan will try to get every last dollar out of you!! Edit: got a call from the manager Benjamin who I explained in detail the situation and he understood. Is willing to work with me to correct the situation and really seemed like he cared! DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!! If I could give it a Zero star I would. Quick to take your money but offer ZERO help with any returns or credits. Our contractor asked us to buy all of our materials prior to starting our bathroom remodel. We went here, worked with a different store manager, ORDERED our tile, had to wait due to supply chain issues, picked it up when they called. Then our contractor had to finish up a job-which lasted longer than expected(out of our control). He did our job, we had about 4 1/2 boxes of unused tile-floor and wall (20% overage we were told to buy by the store!). I tried to return the tile as soon as we possibly could only(literally the same day the contractor finished laying the floor) only to be told our returns were not eligible due to time and policy change. How convenient. I even asked if they would issue a store credit with a re-stocking fee which I was kind of expecting. Nope. Furthermore the "new" sore store manager offered no help and she copped an attitude when I said that my "discount" was almost equal to the amount I was returning when I asked the value. The tile took time to order from the store, the contractor took longer than expected, but we were never notified by Tile Shop that the terms of the return had changed! Shady a$$ people here now-you've been warned! Sub-standard tile and NO SERVICE AFTER THE SALE!!! Another Huge WATCH -OUT....the entire sales staff and management we dealt in the beginning with were no longer employed at the store (4-months later)!! Do NOT shop The Tile Shop! They are great when selling but terrible resolving problematic issues! They are telling me the brown stains that are appearing with use of the shower are NORMAL! It was not there when I purchased this beautiful carrera marble and it is definitely NOT normal! Christopher and Benjamin said that this marble would last a lifetime. It is ruined after 6 months! My newly renovated bathroom is ruined! See for yourself in the picture below. You will lose your entire investment in your renovation if you have any issues as they do NOT stand behind their products once they have your money!! Be warned! read more

We recently decided to redo our bath and had no idea where to start. Christopher the assist mgr (I believe) was so knowledgeable and helpful. We had a hiccup unfortunately in ordering due to system error and there was a delay in about 4 days to receive our order. Christopher ensured us to would handle the rest and he did! This is a great tile shop!! HUGE SELECTION!! In addition to their enormous selection of tile and finishing pieces they have a beautiful showroom of vignettes filled with installation ideas...by far the best tile showroom in South Carolina!! If you're looking for natural stone tile this is your place. They have every stone you can imagine. They also have a huge variety of ceramic and porcelain. The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the product but they have an exceptional gentleman, Christopher Nash, who I would highly recommend. I've worked through two complete houses with him...kitchens, bathrooms, and a few porches. His product knowledge and design skills are second only to his warm and friendly personality. There were positives and negatives for me. My wife and I have started remodeling a large, older home we purchased several years ago. We had already done one bathroom using big-box store products, but decided to try The Tile Shop for our kitchen backsplash. They have a great selection, great displays and the people were helpful. We bought a few samples to take home. After deciding on tile color and style, we returned to the store. We discussed our backsplash dimensions, and there was not sufficient stock of the tile we wanted, so we needed to place an order. The tile comes 50 pieces to a box. We knew it would take slightly more than 2 boxes. We SPECIFICALLY asked if we would be able to return the remaining pieces for a refund and were told yes. Based on this, I had no problem ordering 3 boxes, as sometimes I tend to cut things wrong and need a few extras anyway. Our order arrived exactly as scheduled and we were able to complete the job. The tile looks great. We ended up having about 40 or so tiles left over from the third box. We returned to the store with the box, only to now be told they would only accept returns of full boxes. What??? I explained that we specifically asked this question before purchasing. My wife mentions that an employee just down the aisle was present for our original discussion when we made the purchase. Said employee is summoned over and repeats the same thing. Full boxes only and it says so on the bottom of your receipt. Guess what? I didn't have a receipt until after I bought it, which of course, I bought based on YOUR answer to MY question about returns. That receipt was placed in a bag with the little thin-set trowel we bought for the small tile, and not looked at again until we came for the refund. Although it's only about a $75 refund, the wife is now p*ssed off, and I can't blame her. Being a relatively calm person at this stage of my life, I get her to relax. No problem, thank you for your time, and we took our box of tiles and went to dinner. How hard would it have been to mention the "full box requirement" during our conversation about returns, before I made the purchase? We could have worked that out. Maybe order 2 boxes and then buy a few individual tiles off the shelf? Feeling that we've been wronged, it's now a matter of principle. One 5400+ square foot house. 5.5 bathrooms. One photographic dark-room. Hundreds of square feet of floor tile. Practically all of it needing updating. That business will now go somewhere else. All over what should have been a $75 refund.....Unfortunately, one thing that tends to hold true in this world is that it only takes one "uh-oh" to negate a bunch of "atta-boys". So, although I will no longer be a customer, my recommendation is that if you're a new customer (like we were) you make sure you're up to speed on the store policies, and don't believe everything you're told. read more
