I went into this shop to buy as many samples of as many colors as I could so my students could make some very large mosaic tables. The staff here was SO accommodating. I am sure I was incredibly irritating in some ways because I was going around trying to get some of every color possible but not buying anything in bulk. Granted, I bought about $200 worth of tile samples, but it's still not tiling a room. At the end of my shopping, the staff gave me a teaching discount (once they knew what I was getting it for) and then talked to me about how to break the tiles up and make a mosaic properly. They were so wonderful. I still owe them some pictures. One half of one table posted here. I bought tile at the Scottsdale branch for my house before this one opened. We purchased Marmoreal LVT from The Tile Shop and had it installed by a business that we were referred to by the manager of the store. In less than a month after installation we found numerous fractures in the tile and notified the installer. Due to the amount of tiles that were affected we also notified the manager of the tile shop. The Tile Shop did a review and decided that the issue was due to the underlayment that the installer used. I inform them that we were also finding scratches on the tile and felt that there was something faulty with the tile. The installer claimed that he had never had any issues with any other tiles that he has installed except the ones we had. Ultimately, as the consumer we were caught in the middle with no resolution. We are extremely disappointed with the outcome of our project. We did not want to try to do repairs as we were not confident that we would not have even more issues is the problem involves areas all over our home. read more

Buyer Beware!! If you are going to buy tile, you should go to Floor & Decor, Arizona Tile, Home Depot, or any other location other than The Tile Shop. I was remodeling a shower and purchased some tile from the location on 32nd & Indian School. The Sales Associate encouraged for me to purchase more tile than needed, but said I could take back leftover for a refund. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. When I returned the tile, they said the 60-day return date has passed and would not provide a refund, or even a store credit. I purchased tile the same time from Floor & Decor and when I went to return the leftovers, they immediately refunded me for the unused tile. What a scam...I feel like I was lied to and out $150! read more

After three separate visits trying to make a decision on tile for the new house, I have decided not to come back. The staff here has been consistent only in their effort to ignore me on every occasion. Even with 2-3 men standing around at the main podium, I was never once approached and asked if I needed help. Passed by in the aisles several times. Jeans and a t-shirt on a Saturday doesn't mean I don't have money to spend. Quite the contrary, actually. Having 3 major tile jobs in my remodel as well as a fireplace to re-do, it's their loss. Time to find a locally owned small business that actually cares about their customer service. We recently purchased a fixer-upper so I stopped by The Tile Shop to see the selection. They have a beautifully presented selection, but the big "wow" is the great customer service from the staff. The manager gave me great advice on a difficult problem with existing tile. Another staff member recommended a warehouse where I might be able to find matching tile (I did!). When I stopped by to ask for advice on another challenge, the same manager once again came to the rescue and solved the problem. The 32nd St. & Indian School location in Phx, AZ. just opened near our house. We are remodeling our kitchen and need tile for the back splash. My husband visited this location today 3/1/2018 - midday and was there for over 15 minutes and NO ONE came up to him to offer assistance. As far as he could tell, there was only 1 other couple in the store and they weren't being helped either. My husband and I both visited the store two days before today and we experienced the same lack of customer service. If this is the kind of customer service this location offers, I can't see it being successful. The employees of this store should be reminded that they are in business because of their customers!!!!!! read more

We have been shopping tile for months, at a variety of price points and styles. We've been in and out of this location many times and have always received good customer service - just couldn't find a style we both liked. Imagine our surprise when we popped in to return a sample and stumbled across the perfect tile! It even happened to be on a close out sale. It was a steal, marked no returns, but we didn't see an issue with this since we'd seen the sample at home and knew we liked it. Our mistake was assuming this "close out sale" tile was a quality product line that was being discontinued to make room for a new style. On install day our professional installers (who have successfully completed floors throughout and full bathroom remodels for us and currently have 5stars on Yelp) were unable to cut the tiles without them chipping. The installer was so convinced we had bought a poor quality product he strongly advised we not move forward with the install. We talked to The Tile Shop about this. Their only suggestions were that we didn't have a competent installer or that he was using shoddy equipment. Based on our previous experience we can't see either of these as being logical explanations. I understand that there is always a risk buying on final sale. I am disappointed that associates at The Tile Store approached us with zero interest in helping us with a reasonable resolution. I am aware of some clothing and and handbag brands selling inferior quality goods through their outlet stores. At least in those cases you know to expect this. It feels like a bait and switch situation to buy from The Tile Store, where they promise high quality, only to find out that you bought an inferior quality product they won't stand behind. We are back on the hunt for new tile (at a wide range of price points) but will not be back to The Tile Shop. read more

Dude this was amazing! Teddy was the first person that I felt helped me and my wife understand the entire design process. He still allowed my wife to design but used his expertise to direct us towards smart decisions. I didn't realize designing a bathroom would be so miserable if you do it alone. With Teddy helping, I actually enjoyed it. He had the perfect temperament and knowledge. The shocking part was we were done quickly. So it was six weeks of trying to do it alone vs. 30 min with Teddy. I recommend getting the help from Teddy and The Tile Shop. The store manager also jumped in and was super cool. We went into The Tile Shop today after going to another larger, more generic place. We walked out of unnamed tile shop feeling kind of yucky. The customer service team was rather uninterested so we just left. Based upon yelp reviews, we decided to try The Tile Shop and our experience was 100% different! Michael Frey helped us in a very friendly, non-sales-y way and was able to show us exactly what we wanted in a matter of moments. He added to our design in a collaborative manner and we felt really good when we walked out. He did tell us that they were having a black Friday 25% off sale, which was the only push that he gave us to make the sale but it really felt like he told us that info only to save us $$ and not to pressure us. If you're looking for a positive shopping experience, this is the place. NOTE - we haven't placed our order yet but will definitely do so and I am fully expecting the order and delivery process to be as seamless as the shopping process. I was impressed with the wide selection of tile that they had. And the employee helping was very helpful and willing to find tile that matched up in a fantastic way. I picked out everything that I would need to remodel two bathrooms that I would be doing and right off the bat the employee that I was working with said that because he liked me he would take 15% off. Which was a huge turn off for me because the reality is that for every percentage that he took off it just showed how much they are marked up at. Throughout our conversation he would lower the price several times. I decided to put a deposit down for the tile but to still look at other options. A week passed and my tile came into the store and I was having some second thoughts do to there being some other tiles stores closer to me and their prices seemed decent. When I showed hesitation the associate that I put the deposit down with said that the delivery cost (which was quite pricey) could be waived. To me that was the last straw to over charge for tile so much so that you can lower it that many times shows how much they mark their tile up. I ended up getting tile from floor and decor and it seemed that their employees are not paid on a commission so there are no deals that need to be haggled out. It was nice and easy the price is exactly what is shown and there isn't an employee making you feel like you are getting a deal when they are just cutting down the price of an already exhorbitly price product. It almost felt like shopping at a used car dealrship. I ended paying several hundred dollars less at floor and decor. read more

This place has an a amazing selection of tile. We've been looking for tile for a new shower stall for about six weeks. Working with Sarah Bradburn was a wonderful experience. She listened to what we were looking for, including budget, then started pulling ideas. Her listening and communication skills are exemplary and her design eye divine. After pulling several ideas she had an "aha" moment and pulled one more piece: exactly what we wanted and didn't know it. I would highly recommend this shop and this designer. read more
