Colours by Earth Stone is a Houston based company with locations all around the country. There is a showroom and a warehouse here, where it seems a lot of material loading is done locally. I've been here a handful of times and have come out of it inspired and refreshed each time. The employees are fairly good about answering questions and I never felt pressured to purchase anything while perusing their endless selection of tiles. The latter might have newcomers feeling a little overwhelmed with the process, but I appreciate the variety in colors and patterns. I also really love the real world setups for the bathroom and kitchen. Estimates will vary, but do a little comparison shopping to ensure the best price. I feel the prices are competitive but might be a little more than some other places. At the end of the day, quality matters a lot, and they certainly have no shortage of that. Be sure to take home sample tiles for comparison and have a list of questions ready for the staff.

The choices they have are amazing. Tony is great and helped us pick out the two-tone slim shaker cabinets and quartz countertop. They added much more storage by removing the soffit and raising the cabinet height. The new cabinet inserts make the organization and access so much easier. On the remodeling side of their business, we had them replace our floors and countertops. We also decided to have them replace the cabinets in our powder room which really gave it an upgrade. The workers they use are thoughtful in how they complete the work. Joseph and Tony had great service and communication throughout the whole process. My laminate floors in my living and dining rooms were damaged during the Beryl storm and needed to be replaced. Mike quickly came to my home after being contacted, looked over the damage and completed measurements. A reasonable free estimate was provided quickly based on the product I selected. Mike kept me updated about the project from the beginning of the project until its completion. Most importantly, my floors look simply beautiful. It is a…read morefamily owned small business (my favorite kind!) and they were so nice when I went to check out their showroom. Before going to them, I checked out Lowe's and Home Depot. I was very interested in that porcelain tile that looks like wood, and both of those places did not have a large selection. Also, both places charged $35 to give estimates, which I paid just so I could get a comparison. Forsyth gave me an estimate for free, and they had literally hundreds of different options for that porcelain tile. And thinking about it, it makes sense that they would be so much more on top of stuff since flooring is their entire business, and it's only a small part of what places like Home Depot or Lowe's deal with. After they did the measure, we talked about my budget and switched the upstairs section to laminate due to some floor issues that would make porcelain really expensive in terms of prep work. They had another huge selection of laminate samples to work with and I ended up picking out this awesome color (pattern?) called Oregon Spruce from EarthWerks that I have gotten so many compliments on. I would absolutely use Forsyth again - I felt really comfortable with them working in my house and they did an awesome job on the install. Obviously, flooring is pricey - I paid a little under $7,500 for around 900 square feet of porcelain and laminate - but if you saw how great my floor looks I think you would agree it was worth it.

There are so many brands and different light qualities coming and going, some being absolute junk, but I always trust that they do their research and only carry the most reliable products at M & M so I don't have to and they stand behind their products in case it doesn't perform well, even if it's longer down the line. In particular, the new generation of low profile LED lights they carry are in a completely different class than the generic old fashion stuff they carry at big box stores. Seeing the actual lights in a realistic demo is a huge help in deciding whether something is right which you don't get anywhere else. They're just a bunch of lighting nerds over there so if you want to dim or automate lights and tie them to your Alexa, they'll point you to the right direction there and explain what you need.
