This is our second time eating at Tipp Tavern. The wait staff was courteous & attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant. A well-lit (not too bright nor too dim), clean setting with multiple TVs above the bar. However, I would have to say the food was mediocre overall and not memorable, and the prices were high relative to portion size and perceived value--even by Windham standards. Let's start with the positive. The drinks were great. My wife got a cosmo and the rest of us ordered margaritas. Size and quality of drinks was in line with price. The appetizers were better than the main courses. The salads we ordered were good, and my kids really liked the mozzarella wedge appetizer. The chicken quesadilla was well received also. All the burgers and sandwiches start at around $22. The fajita wrap was probably the best, while the burger was uninspiring, not very large, not very flavorful and dry. My son ordered the steak wrap ($24) and he said it was just unseasoned steak with cheese in a wrap and described it as lacking flavor. He only ate half and we ended up feeding the other half to our dogs after I said he had to take home the half he didn't finish at the tavern. We were a party of 9, seated with another family. We selected the restaurant. My friend rated his burger a "B" and his wife liked her chicken fajita wrap. Overall rating is 3 stars, or average. Seems like they would benefit from some tweaks to the mains to add flavor/value and everything would come up at least one star. read more

Service was good, beer was fine. Ordered food - potato skins, bison sliders,grilled chicken sandwich. To be fair we over ordered. Chicken sandwich is coming home- but it looks like it sat for awhile. Sliders were bland and under heat lamps too long. Skins were different, but reasonable. Fries were thinner ones? Skin on. P.S. An Irish American pub is now open in Windham! The Tipp Tavern opened in the former Neapoli's space on Main. The place has a rustic old style pub feel with dim lighting, a long bar with seating, high top tables, and regular tables and booths. The place has plenty of decor on the walls, a digital jukebox, dart board and 12 flatscreen TVs. There is another room here with a pool table. They also carry NFL Sunday Ticket, so you can watch ypur favorite team, whether it's in NJ, Western NY, or anywhere else. The bar offers several beers on tap as well as mixed drinks. The food menu offers Irish American pub fare including burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, salads, flatbreads, puff pastry chicken pot pie, bangers & mash, shepherds pie, Irish chicken curry, and an Irish breakfast. I stopped by The Tipp to catch several games at the same time on the TVs. I sat at a high top table near the front, which had a great view of mostly AFC games with the NFC games on TVs towards the back. I ordered the Dublin Style Fish & Chips ($24 plus tax) and an ice water. My food came out in 10 minutes, very hot. The 2 pieces of beer battered cod was very oily and hot, as expected. The good amount of hand cut fries were a bit short, lightly salted. The small cup of mushy peas were served warm, tarter sauce (not tangy) and ketchup provided. I enjoyed tgis greasy goodness as I was watching my games. After I was done, I requested the check which was $25.92 with tax and before tip. There was also a QR code on the check, which conveniently enabled me to pay online through Spoton. Overall, I like the down home vibe here of a local sports bar/Irish pub. Driving through Windham, looking for a lunch place. Walked into the diner across the street, got a weird vibe, decided to come to Tipp's instead. I wish we went to the diner, especially after reading reviews of their food afterwards. Now granted, Tipp's seems to be a bar first and a food establishment second. I was surprised by the high prices but we were only getting lunch so we went for it. Food wasn't bad - burger was tasty, and the Cuban panini was so large (width and height) I couldn't finish. However, the panini was cold and barely pressed, which ruined it - I would have sent it back to get reheated, but it took so long for the food to arrive, and I was starving, so I just ate it. Fries were very good - claimed to be hand cut, and they looked/taste like it. Bartender was very friendly. We left feeling satisfied but remorseful that we didn't avail ourselves of some better options. read more

Had a terrible experience in Tipp Tavern on a recent hunting trip. 3 of us stopped in for dinner on a Thursday night. The place was pretty empty. We asked our waitress for a recommendation and she was unable to provide one, stating that she does not eat the food. That should have been our sign to leave, but we stayed. When I ordered the vegetable soup, the waitress said "are you sure?" Again, should have taken the cue to leave, but our hunger overruled our common sense. All three entrees were terrible. The shepherds pie is served luke warm in a small Pyrex tupper ware bowl. It is served without flavor or seasoning. The roast beef sandwich has 2 slices of roast beef and whole RAW broccoli florets. Yes, raw broccoli is in the sandwich. It isn't seasoned or steamed or even sliced! The Irish Ruben sandwich is mushy and lacking flavor. It was also pretty greasy. Our waitress saw how little we ate and offered to get us something else, but we were afraid to order any other dishes. 3 soups, 3 inedible entrees, and 3 beers cost us $130. I would not recommend anyone dine here. The one positive was a delicious Guinness. I asked the waitress how many ounces in the glass and she said IDK go ask the bartender. Hilarious read more

Crispy French fries, a very solid fish and chips with an amazing batter. The burgers- Jesus take the wheel. They're juicy and have a crisp to them. More meat then bun, the way it should be. Our bar neighbor told us the wings were unbelievable. Shamus bartender extraordinaire had us laughing, drinking and well fed all night. The staff made us feel like we were regulars at the tapp even though this was our first visit. She paid what she paid on the previous night and walked out . This should have been a sign . I had dinner my Bill was $94 I paid it using my debit and left the Bartender Brandon a $40 cash tip because I felt bad for him the way the customer treated him and he paid the difference in the bill that the customer didn't pay . I paid my $94 bill and left next morning I have an account alert from my bank of charges posted to my account which showed my bill $94 and another bill $122 from this establishment. That day I go there and talked to Karen the Bartender and said she will relay the message to the owner never heard back I contacted them and she said John the owner is looking into it? Then on Sunday I called again I get answer well it's been really busy haven't had a chance to look at it ??? It's fraud . I contacted Windham and State police to inform them of the fraud . Buyer beware . Pay cash here they are skimming your debit cards and the owner could care less . My $94 bill cost me $216 with the fraud for lackluster food and services . So many other options in the area steer clear of this establishment. read more

Came in on a Wednesday evening. The bar was full, tables empty. Older crowd. Fairly quiet. The beer selection was pretty good. Had a local IPA and it was great. Started with some onion rings, they were crunchy and cooked well. Hambuger for me. A flat bread for my wife. We really enjoyed it. The burger was cooked absolutely perfect medium. Great flavor. I ordered the grilled sirloin burger and it's a basic burger with a fancy name, nothing to get excited about. It's not fresh meat, but a frozen patty in addition the bacon was not cooked enough. The fries are good. The onion rings were too crunchy due to being overcooked. I also have had the loaded Irish sandwich and it's decent but not loaded with meat, lacking actually. Should be called the unloaded sandwich. The tables are wobbly. In conclusion it's an ok spot , great for beer and watching a game but don't get too excited for a killer burger,especially at the price they charge, not sure if there's anywhere in Windham that delivers on that.
