The black olives were the perfect snack pairing, and the peaches were absolutely incredible. We loved learning that the peaches are sourced locally and that the mint is grown fresh right behind the restaurant. Stopped here for some wine after dinner and found it to be a little gem. It's small but they offer both bar seating and have some tables available towards the back. It was quaint but very inviting. I'm so sorry if I got your name wrong but I think it was Nicole? She was very friendly and told us about their specials and I love that they print a new menu daily as they rotate a lot of their wines. There was an option to do a "half bottle" which gets you just a touch more than a glass so we thought that was perfect for the two of us for just under $40. We got a nice and chilled Gamay and enjoyed our conversations with her. It's a nice place for a date, girls night or even if you want to sit alone at the bar. The tippling house is a relatively new wine bar in downtown Charleston. We came on a Saturday night and there were many tables available. The person at the bar was very accommodating to our group and told us about the concept and made some recommendations for wines and the different options available. Enjoyed wine and some cheese at the Tippling House, but warning-this will not be an affordable evening out. We shared a bottle of sparkling rose that was very good. Quiet little place on a Tuesday night. We came here to knock out some weekly planning at 7:00 to wind down since my partner works out of the house. We enjoyed a nice glass of wine. The service has been excellent and the playlist has been really good. Little pricey on the food side which kept me away - not buying an $18 burger from a wine joint. Wine bar off the beaten track (this review is just for the wine, not food). You'll have to look for this place, but it is well worth it. There is an extensive wine by the glass selection that has some interesting and tasty treasures. Reasonably priced too. But if you go in on a Saturday night after 9pm you can choose to help clean out--you see, they are closed Saturday and Sunday, so they don't want to open a fresh bottle (for one or two glasses that late). We were delighted to participate in the Saturday night rinse ritual. For a very reasonable price, we could have a glass of what was opened (until it was all gone). We were told it is usually very quiet at that time, but we had a small and lively group. Great fun and a real surprise in Charleston. My fiancé and I were excited to try this new spot in downtown Charleston- since we both love wine! The bar is located inside an old home on Coming Street (next to the old Taco Spot.) It was the perfect place to have a few appetizers and a glass of wine before dinner. The food menu offers up some small bites and changes often (daily? Weekly?) Gillian behind the bar was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the wine we tried, and we really enjoyed our conversation with her. Everything we ate was fantastic- we really loved the Boquerones, the Shrimp Toast (a favorite!), and the Stuffed Dates. We will definitely be back - and highly recommend stopping in if you are a lover of wine :) read more

I have been wanting to try this very quaint place for a few months. Glad I did! It is clean and nicely done and it's absolutely great for an intimate night out. Sadly I went alone and although I was made to feel very comfortable; I can say it would certainly have been more fun with a few friends. They have an awesome small plates menu and the food was excellent! I would highly recommend this place for a great night out with a date, spouse, significant other. Additionally, the seating is on uncomfortable hard benches. Overall, the dining experience is worth a visit if one is not expecting an intimate, romantic setting.
