Huge wine selection and the bartender makes good recommendations. Beautiful atmosphere and overall wonderful experience. Definitely a place to stop.

The burger at Tippling House might just be the best I've had in Charleston! The ambiance is gorgeous, though I can't speak to the drinks since I was lucky enough to grab a free burger to go through Blackbird. The team here seems incredibly friendly, and the smash burger and fries alone have me excited to return to Tippling in 2025!

The service was really really good and this was possibly the best smashburger I've had in the last year!

Great little wine bar where the servers have so much knowledge and can really guide you through the wines. Not a very inexpensive location so be prepared to spend on both wine and food.

Quiet little place on a Tuesday night. We came here to knock out some weekly planning at 7:00 to wind down since my partner works out of the house. We enjoyed a nice glass of wine. The service has been excellent and the playlist has been really good. Little pricey on the food side which kept me away - not buying an $18 burger from a wine joint. Maybe it's worth every penny so I won't knock it from the rating.

Burger Friday at the Tippling House is a must!! These were some of the best burgers we've had in Charleston. Really filling and flavorful! Adorable atmosphere, great spot to meet with a friend. Service was really attentive and I thought it was a good value for the quality and price.

Super cute wine bar downtown. Haven't seen them promote on socials or heard anyone talk about them, but decided to give it a shot. Service was good and ambiance was quaint, romantic, and felt like you were in someone's home. Can't wait to return!

Pour a glass for The Tippling House CHS. Such a cute spot and great service. Very homey and warm. The wine selection was fantastic. I definitely will be ordering this fantastic Trinch wine again. Can't wait to go back! #bergerknowsbest

My fiancé and I were excited to try this new spot in downtown Charleston- since we both love wine! The bar is located inside an old home on Coming Street (next to the old Taco Spot.) It was the perfect place to have a few appetizers and a glass of wine before dinner. The food menu offers up some small bites and changes often (daily? Weekly?) Gillian behind the bar was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the wine we tried, and we really enjoyed our conversation with her. Everything we ate was fantastic- we really loved the Boquerones, the Shrimp Toast (a favorite!), and the Stuffed Dates. We will definitely be back - and highly recommend stopping in if you are a lover of wine :)

We ordered the watermelon caprese salad, parmesan crusted halibut, and an item on the special menu that I cannot recall at the moment. Complimentary bread and butter- delicious. no notes. who doesn't love bread and butter? Watermelon caprese salad- refreshing, high quality ingredients, harmonious. the mint pesto paired with heirloom tomatoes and mozz was simply to die for. I don't enjoy fruit in salads but my boyfriend said the watermelon was essential and that this dish was amazing overall! Parmesan crusted halibut- wow. if there is one thing you should order on this menu, it's this. I don't think I spoke once during this meal. every bite-I anticipated the next. the various flavors coming from the halibut, tomato, shrimp, rice, and corn...topped with the citrus beurre blanc was sensational. I would come back for this meal. my boyfriend wholeheartedly agrees. sangria- strong. blood orange margarita spritz- strong. delicious. Overall, we'd definitely come back. Our waiter was friendly. The food was sensational. The ambiance was warm. The drinks were strong. Our moods were changed for the better after leaving so I'd say this was a 10/10.

The place is popular, so highly recommend reservations. When asking locals about it, it's not somewhere they go, but acknowledge it is a solid choice and staple. The appetizers were decent. The deviled eggs were good and the scallops were as well. Nothing exceptional, but solid choices. For entrees we had a wide variety in our party. I had the fried catfish with red rice and cabbage. The dish was well portioned and fried but the red rice was cold and hard. The cabbage was good. A For dessert had I have pecan pie and it was just ok. All in all, it is a place you can tell people to for special occasions. It's a bit crowded and busy, so not very intimate. But still well maintained.

The service was excellent -- polished, warm, and confidently attentive without ever feeling overdone. They know how to make a night feel special. And let me just say: the wine selection was excellent. Thoughtful pours, great bottles, and spot‑on pairing guidance. It felt curated, not crowded. Our table went in on a mix of dishes, and every single one delivered: * Waldorf salad -- crisp, bright, and beautifully balanced * Cioppino -- rich, aromatic, and full of tender seafood * Elevated swordfish -- perfectly cooked with that refined, coastal flair * Mussels -- tender, fragrant, and deeply seasoned * Filet mignon -- melt‑in‑your‑mouth and plated like a little moment High Cotton blends Southern charm with fine‑dining finesse, and it shows in every detail. My group left happy, impressed, and already planning the next visit. Charleston has plenty of great restaurants -- but High Cotton knows how to make you feel like you chose the right one.

We frequently dine at many of the higher-end restaurants in downtown Charleston and Mount Pleasant,…read moreso we arrived with high expectations, especially given this restaurant's connection to the Halls group. The dining room is beautiful, and the ambiance is excellent. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality level or price point of the restaurant. When entrées range from $65-$70 for fish, $80+ for steaks, and side dishes approach $14 or more, guests reasonably expect an elevated and attentive dining experience. Throughout the evening, our server seemed rushed and disengaged. Despite our efforts to be friendly and conversational, interactions felt brief and transactional. A drink order was delivered incorrectly, and rather than improving as the meal progressed, the service became increasingly impersonal. We never felt particularly welcomed or valued as guests. A special night out with a $300-$400 check should feel memorable for the right reasons. While the food and atmosphere were good, the overall experience fell short of what we have come to expect from restaurants operating in this category and at this price level. We are glad we gave it a try, but in the future we'll likely choose other Charleston-area restaurants that deliver a more polished and hospitality-focused experience when entertaining family and friends from out of town.
