What a special place in Charleston! After walking by a few times during non-business hours, my husband and I agreed we had to stop in one day. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by a young man at the bar whom was super knowledgeable about wine. He was kind enough to walk us through the menu and answer our questions. We each had a glass of wine and though we had just came from dinner and were too full to eat, I would encourage you to try their cheese and cured meets. It was a great way to spend a quiet evening. I'm really looking forward to returning on a Tuesday for their weekly tasting!

Really enjoyed the $10 wine tasting. They had a sommelier describe each of wine's background, vineyard, and taste pretty thoroughly each time we went up for the next wine on the list. The atmosphere was intimate with candle lit tables and wine bar as well. It got a little crowded for the tasting as it seemed to be in high demand, and you did have to wait in a line to get your next pour rather than it being table-side.

Stopped in for the first time this week - they have $10 wine tastings on Tuesdays. We were provided with a selection of 5 wines and this specific night, they were chosen as some of the favorites of one of the staff that presented each one. It's a cute little spot with a relaxing environment. The staff was very friendly and we arrived early enough that we were seated immediately. We had the option to sit at the bar, but chose a small table. They explained that process of the tasting, which they provided a glass at your table and you went up each time you were ready for a sample. It was a nice variety and I enjoyed the staff's enthusiasm about each selection. We did not purchase any food, but from the different charcuterie options that were ordered by those around us, everything looked tasty. I would definitely return for another visit - but make sure you're there earlier than later, as they seem to get busy as the night goes on.

While King Street tends to attract the crowds, Meeting Street has hidden little gems like Wine & Company. One part wine bar, one part wine shop, and three parts charm Wine and Company has small bites, a large bar, and a few other tables. It is a place that gets crazy busy fast and then can unwind to mellowness just as quick. One thing that I absolutely loved was the huge variety of descriptive flights. I will never know wine like a real wine drinker, but I love a descriptive flight - sweet, bubbly, bold, unique, etc. It made it easier for me to order something new and genuinely like all of it. The service here is exceptional. This is a community location and their service eptimozes it as they worked the space together. No one person helped me - they jumped in as needed. I watched them walk around the space engaging people and helping. No one stayed still, it was a lot of activity constantly. Out of all the wine bars I drank at in Charleston this was my favorite.

We discovered wine and company through a wine club. So glad we did! We did the Tuesday wine tasting and it was a great experience. We were able to taste 5 different wines for $10. We were then able to take a bottle home from the tasting and take off the $10 fee. We really liked the bar and the ambiance but we were disappointed in attention to detail by the bartenders. We ordered wine by glass after the tasting and the pours were not what was to be expected by glass. In addition, our bill was higher than expected. They don't give a print out bill which makes it tricky to figure out if the bill is accurate. I really want to return but want to make sure the bill is calculated fairly. We want to enjoy the wine and tasting without stressing that the final bill will be fairly calculated.

It's been awhile since I've been here, but I highly recommend if you're looking for great wine in a relaxing atmosphere. Wine & Company is located downtown Charleston and you can park in the bank parking lot, across the street, after they close which makes it really convenient. It's very spacious and has a classy vibe. They offer tastings on Tuesdays and you can't beat the price. Be sure to follow them on Instagram to be aware of the wines being offered each week. They have many different options available for their charcuterie boards. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The owner, Josh, and his staff are some of the nicest people around. I remember him from another wine bar I'm Summerville before he opened this place. Be sure to check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

We visited this lovely wine bar during our visit to Charleston and it was one of the highlights of our trip! The staff were incredibly friendly and the owner went above and beyond to help us with the wines we bought to bring home. We visited multiple times and met the nicest local people on each visit. Highly recommend!

Josh is wonderful and extremely knowledgeable. I came in to taste some wines with a friend and he was super helpful and friendly in picking out some wines for us. The place is super cute, plenty of seating available and an amazing variety of wines. I look forward to becoming a regular here. Cheers

We came here to grab a snack and a drink before a late dinner reservation. The flights were interesting and we both tried something we hadn't before. The charcuterie plate was a nice accompaniment. Very pretty but laid back atmosphere. Wonderful service.

Love love love this spot. It very cozy casual spot to enjoy wine. People working there and super friendly . I am not much of a wine drinker and there are always nice enough to let me try something and recommend stuff. They have $10 wine tasting Tuesday's and free if you buy a bottle. They have awesome producers and wine for different regions you could try. Great for a wind down from a crazy work day. Parking downtown might be a little tricky but they are lots right opposite the location.

There was an option to do a "half bottle" which gets you just a touch more than a glass so we thought that was perfect for the two of us for just under $40. The service was excellent -- polished, warm, and confidently attentive without ever feeling overdone. They know how to make a night feel special. And let me just say: the wine selection was excellent. Thoughtful pours, great bottles, and spot‑on pairing guidance. It felt curated, not crowded. Our table went in on a mix of dishes, and every single one delivered: * Waldorf salad -- crisp, bright, and beautifully balanced * Cioppino -- rich, aromatic, and full of tender seafood * Elevated swordfish -- perfectly cooked with that refined, coastal flair * Mussels -- tender, fragrant, and deeply seasoned * Filet mignon -- melt‑in‑your‑mouth and plated like a little moment High Cotton blends Southern charm with fine‑dining finesse, and it shows in every detail. We frequently dine at many of the higher-end restaurants in downtown Charleston and Mount Pleasant,…read moreso we arrived with high expectations, especially given this restaurant's connection to the Halls group. The dining room is beautiful, and the ambiance is excellent. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality level or price point of the restaurant. When entrées range from $65-$70 for fish, $80+ for steaks, and side dishes approach $14 or more, guests reasonably expect an elevated and attentive dining experience. Throughout the evening, our server seemed rushed and disengaged. Despite our efforts to be friendly and conversational, interactions felt brief and transactional. A drink order was delivered incorrectly, and rather than improving as the meal progressed, the service became increasingly impersonal. We never felt particularly welcomed or valued as guests. A special night out with a $300-$400 check should feel memorable for the right reasons. While the food and atmosphere were good, the overall experience fell short of what we have come to expect from restaurants operating in this category and at this price level. We are glad we gave it a try, but in the future we'll likely choose other Charleston-area restaurants that deliver a more polished and hospitality-focused experience when entertaining family and friends from out of town.
