After dinner, we decided we should check out Graft Wine bar located on upper King. This place has a cool hipster casual vibe. Of course the most important thing is the wines. It's like Christmas morning here to those people that love wine. The selection of wines from across the globe is impressive. The prices are also very competitive, basically pick a wine have the bartender open it for a corkage fee of $15. Sweet deal. The staff are very helpful and not pretentious at all. The decor is very retro in style with old vinyl records available to play should you want. We loved it here and it's a great addition to the restaurants in upper King where are you can go for a drink before or after dinner. Further down King from the main drag, the door is to the side and not the street, so it was not easy to notice. The space is modern without pretentiousness. This wine is cheaply made, as evidenced by my excruciating headache the morning after. Lastly we ordered a few cheeses; the serving size was so small it was a joke. Great wine bar. The walls are packed with bottles of wine that you can uncork and drink in the shop. We ordered a couple glasses from the menu and were pleased with our selections. The lighting becomes more dim later in the day and candles are placed at each table. We had a nice time while sipping our wines, and I would recommend Graft for a wine aficionado in Charleston. read more
