Usually if needed, I go to the ford dealership for any help. However, my tire pressure was low so I stopped by the tire store to get my tires aired up. Never gone there before I pulled up, rolled my window down, and waited to be helped. I sat for about thirty seconds before a worker looked to his coworker and starting talking about "they are sitting there starring." Then yells "what do you want." I looked out my window and replied "just to air up my tires." He then looked back to his coworker and began to talk about the situation. From now on I will go to my dealership or do it myself. INCOMPETENT!!! DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP My front right tire had a slow puncture, so I took it to The Tire Store to fix. The technician tells me he can't find anything wrong. He tells me he can't find a leak, and therefore can't do anything. So I say "okay" and wait for him to put the tire back on. So what does he do? He changes the valve stem without asking me and charges me $50.00 for the privilege. Bear in mind that he did not identify the original valve as leaky. So, there I was, thinking maybe he simply took the initiative and had solved my problem. Not so! Directly after leaving The Tire Store I drove to Bakersfield from Tehachapi during which I lost 10psi from the tire he had just "fixed," whereas I'd only lost a max of 5psi per day before taking my car to The Tire Store. Which means that The Tire Store WORSENED my slow puncture! So, not about to return my car in to the folks who failed to fixed a super-simple problem, I instead took it to Firestone in Bakersfield and got the problem fixed. They told me that the valve stem The Tire Store had installed was done incorrectly, and told me the stem kit needed to be replaced, which they did for $10.00 less that The Tire Store charged me to WORSEN MY PROBLEM! Needless to say, the problem was fixed. Don't let the positive reviews for The Tire Store fool you. The staff is incompetent. You'd be better off driving the extra distance to Firestone where they not only know what they are doing, they guarantee their work. read more

Stopped in to get estimate on two new tires. Not only did they replace the tires that I needed quickly, but when the tire replacement did fix the "wobble" in my car I brought it back and the problem in a different tire was fixed for $30! Honest, fast and respectful! They have definitely gained my business! read more

Great place! Got my moms car in and out in 20 minutes. Honest people, just a little place so seats while you wait are limited.

Lately I have been going in a lot because I seem to get a lot of flat tires for some reason and every time I go in they are always very helpful and the prices are the best in town. Thank you Tire Store for your honesty and professionalism. Driving home from a funeral this afternoon, stopped in Tehachapi for the reception. Upon leaving home my car made an awful noise/shaking going uphill at 50 mph. I have a "flat" I thought...nope. Ok, maybe something with the tires/wheels, really out of balance etc. Asked Siri for the closest tire store. When I arrived I expected to be taken to the cleaners...don't know this business or the area, I'm going to be taken advantage of....a bend over and grab your lug nuts experience. The Tire Store wasn't like that, AT ALL! I told them my problem, they balanced the tires and took it for a test drive. The shaking was still there, I assume the owner had another tech drive it and determined it to be the transmission mounts going. Recommended that I take it to my mechanic as soon as I can, don't take the back way home, too many hills will put stress on the mounts making the shaking worse, and no charge for the balance since that wasn't the problem. Stopped in a few times for tire service. Quick, friendly, no hassle, no surprises, good price... can't really ask for more. Plus the no pressure heads-up on my brakes. The ambiance isn't quite what it could be... maybe a nice potted plant or something. I mean I not expecting hugs or anything... Will def try them for an oil change soon. read more

Fast service but not honest. I ordered 4 tires for my truck and was quoted $370 for the set. I brought the tires and rims in off the truck to have them dismounted so I could sandblast them. They charged me $20 to dismount and dispose of the 4 old tires. When the new tires finally arrived, I brought my newly painted rims in and requested the total price to be reduced by $20 to adjust for the money already spent the few days before. The manager refused and told me it was a "California" thing. So I basically paid for the dismount and disposal twice. --- Not a happy camper.... Got a flat in Death Valley and on the slow trip out on our donut spare we called to confirm they were open and that they had our tire. They did and had us as good as new in 15 minutes which was good because we had to get all the way back to San Francisco. They were efficient, nice and reasonably priced. Thanks! read more

Took my car there for an oil change because my child was taking my car out of town. Car's check engine light came on during his trip had to tow the car home. Checked the oil it was dirty and so full it was halfway up the dip stick. They just added oil and did nothing else. Called the owned he apologized and said to bring the car in when we did the workers were rude and confrontational !! I advise that you don't take your car to the tire store!!! read more

Been doing business with them for over 10 years, and it's come down to them not caring about how they treat their customers - sad. I'm not sure if this is the sign of the times, but all facets of service have gone to the point of being unacceptable. Walked in to do my latest tire buying and two of the workers were cussing like sailors in the waiting area in front of a bunch of small children. The counter staff was rude and apathetic to me, almost acting as if I was bothering them. Got my tires, drove out to find that they didn't balance the tires (this was the fourth time in a row this has happened). I went back to get them balanced and they did a horrible job. The car still shakes at freeway speeds. Time to find a tire place that values their customers and does the work right the first time... Good-bye "The Tire Store." read more

We experienced fantastic service at The Tire Store. We had a bulge on our motor home tire that could not be repaired at the nearby truck stop as they only work on big rigs. The mechanic at the truck stop called ahead to The Tire Store and they stayed open a little late in order to fix our tire! We had professional service and a very fair price for our tire and installation. I would definitely recommend The Tire Store in Tehachapi. read more
