When I pulled up…read moreto the pump at Nisky Tire--a Sunoco station on a corner of Balltown Road in Niskayuna--I was totally surprised when a friendly young man walked out of the office and asked me what grade of gasoline I wanted. "Is this like New Jersey?" I remember asking him. Then, I added, "Are you really going to pump my gas for me ?" Sure enough, he did. Yes, the words, "Full Service," are painted in bold black letters on the window of the service station but I didn't notice them when I pulled up to the pump. Even after I saw the sign, I still had trouble wrapping my head around what just happened. I believe the employee said his name is Zach. He explained that he worked there a number of years along with Janna, another employee who would later go on to own the station. They have a philosophy about taking care of their customers and from what I can gather from reading their reviews, they have a loyal fan following. I can say that the mid-grade gas there was priced at least 10 cents per gallon cheaper than most stations in Albany. My vehicle takes a lot of gas. There are two mechanics on staff and they've also received favorable online reviews. I've never written a review for a gas station before-- let alone just for a gas purchase--but the level of courtesy made this place a stand out. If I should ever need some repair work done I would certainly give Nisky Tire consideration because it seems far from ordinary.

So disappointed by the lack of accountability and workmanship from this shop…read more We have been loyal customers of Nisky Tire since August 2024 and had previously been happy with their work on other repairs and inspections across all three of our vehicles. That's what makes this experience so frustrating. In January 2026 we brought our 2009 Honda Civic in for a power steering pump replacement and brake work, paying $765.85 for the power steering job alone. When my husband went to pick up the car that same day, the power steering still wasn't working -- meaning the repair we paid for wasn't even completed. On April 13th, my husband was driving when the power steering failed completely and the serpentine belt came off, leaving him stranded and requiring a tow. The mechanic who repaired it found that the bolts on the power steering pump had never been properly torqued down after Nisky's repair. The bolts were so damaged that they had to be drilled out and the threads re-tapped -- all documented in the AAA Car Care Center's written repair invoice. The resulting repair cost us $935.42, plus towing and lost wages for both of us. We contacted Nisky Tire directly with full documentation and gave them until end of business today to offer a path toward resolution. They declined to take accountability. I would encourage anyone reading this to consider whether a shop that responds to documented negligence with denial is one you want working on your vehicle.
