I run a preschool and have been renting items for events for the past 14 years. This was the first time and last time using Train Quest. I emailed the week of to confirm the date and received no response. I then called the day before the event and Phillis apologized and said they would be here. They were supposed to arrive at 9am today to set up and start the event at 9:30am. Phillis called at 9am saying they were running 24 minutes late. The address says they are only 34 minutes away so I was confused on why they were almost 30 minutes late. I should have read reviews on Google and Yelp prior to booking. It looks like they have a history of being late to events. :( Upon arrival, Phillis apologized and said they can stay late to make up the time. Unfortunately, my preschoolers are on a schedule. We have lunch time, naptime, etc. The train arrived in pieces on the back of a pick up truck. Once they put it all together it seemed they had trouble getting it started. At some point Phillis left. She didn't tell me she was leaving nor did she introduce the 2 gentleman that stayed. The 2 men that assisted with the train hardly spoke English. One stood under a tree on his phone during parts of the event. The driver drove SO fast the first time we had to ask him to slow down. There are no seatbelts or bars to keep the children safe on the train. The driver didn't even have mirrors to see the passengers. **PLEASE add rear view mirrors to your train so the driver can see the passengers behind and know when to stop or slow down.** The train worked after the first 2 groups then died. Our next class had to wait in the heat until they got it started again...but thank goodness it started! I shortened the train ride event and we ended early. I only know of 2 trackless train companies in Austin. I will go back to the company we've use in the past. read more

Took money immediately for my reservation of a play set two weeks prior to my event and said they would deliver the day before. I called at 9:30pm the night before our party as they hadn't delivered yet and it was clear they forgot or were not going to be in time for the party. The equipment showed up minutes before the party started and was old and worn out. They called me in the middle of my party to collect payment (why it couldn't wait), and when I mentioned the equipment was old they just commented that they were going to replace it. Well that doesn't really help me! A total waste of $400+. Never offered even an apology for the equipment or the missed delivery appointment. I wouldn't trust this company for any future events. read more

The team at train quest was very professional and accommodating! Everyone had so much fun at our sons second birthday. We rented arcade games,the trackless train and the mini put coarse inflatable. It was so windy we were sure everyone would have fun. But we had so many of our guest blown away with the arcade and trackless train. Phyllis the owner is very professional and such a great communicator. Can't wait to rent again this summer for the 4th of July!! read more

I recently went to a kid's birthday party and the train was nothing like what the host showed me. The cutest trackless Thomas the train ride was supposed to be at the party and said it held 8-12 kids, but what came to the party was not that. The company brought 3 individual PUSH cars with a track. You had to manually push the cars on the track yourself and the car kept coming off the track. It felt extremely unsafe and was not what was promised for the party. On top of that the party host didn't get a refund. They were also over an hour and a half late. Buyer beware!! I rented the Wild Rapids slide for the 4th of July weekend and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The owner was very professional, honest and respectful. It was a pleasure doing business with her! Plus the slide got used by young and old. Brought everyone together for a super fun time! Couldn't have been any better and we're sad to see it go. Phyllis did such an amazing job! She put on a great mini carnival for my kids! Everyone, including my husband and I were highly impressed with what she did. Keep up the great work! Her impact on the community and the kids will forever be appreciated. She also had such a great team that made the event run smoothly. I greatly appreciated it when she stepped in and helped organize the cotton candy, popcorn, snowcone, etc. Kudos to you on your coordination skills. As a Parent, hosting a party, we all know how stressful it could be, and her, stepping in and serving the popcorn, hotdogs, cotton candy, and snowcone was extremely helpful! She even helped set up the cake table. Words can't express how much that helped me. It was such a nice feeling to be able to mingle amongst our guests. Thank you Train Quest! Hello, I rented a bouncy house from this company on a Saturday. They were honest in saying they have been extremely busy with many events and low staffed, so I appreciated them being transparent. I paid them one half up front and the next once they delivered. I did not have to be home for them to set it up, so I liked that. There was a bit of customer service issue, but they were able to resolve it in a week. read more

If they are late, they will not refund any amount paid. Read the comments posted by others. I certainly will not be using this company.

Apart from being over an hour late to arrive for our function, let alone to be ready, we were told we would receive a partial refund. Then days later we got told there would be no refund because people enjoyed the rides.... not taking into account the 20/30 people who left and didn't come back after waiting for this event. Extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism. We received several phone calls asking for the check as soon as we booked. And we even changed our event time to be what they said would be more convenient for them... save your money and the head ache read more

Update I received an email from The Train Quest offering to settle the issue we agreed to settle than they stop responding to my emails. This such a shady business we will now have to go court since they refuse to do right thing. read more

This place was late for an event and refused to refund for the unused time I wouldn't give these assholes the time of day or a single penny this is what small business come to when they are just money hungry. Hope this place gets shit down by the TDI or BBB. read more
