Came here for a 60 min thai massage. you can park at the hotel and walk over. It's a tiny pink building cant miss it...waiting area and interior is a bit old and run down. The massage rooms are a bit small. The thai massage was good and she got some of my shoulder knots out. They do accept credit cards. The interior needs an upgrade. read more

My husband and I decided to check out Tranquility Nook since we live nearby. I called in the morning and was able to get an appointment over the phone for 5:30pm. When we arrived, the doors were locked and lights were out, the place looked very much closed. I called again to see what was going on and the guy on the phone said he thought my appt was half an hour later than it was. As I was on the phone with him a lady came running to the door with no mask on to let us in. When we entered it looked like the place had been closed for a while. The lady spoke very very little English but ushered us in, no temperature check, waving us to sit down. She then asked us for payment, we handed her a credit card that she either can't or didn't know how to use. She told us to just pay after. While I still had someone on the phone, the gentleman said he'd send someone over right away. So we proceeded to wait about 10min before the same woman asked us to enter the rooms and get undressed. I noticed that there was no sanitizer or any sort of wipes in the room. The face cradle was an old fabric one with a flimsy disposable paper on it...the whole thing looked very not up to COVID standards. I kept my mask on and actually used my own sanitizing spray to spray down the fabric face cradle. A short while later, the first woman came in and said it be about 10 more minutes but that she'd "wash" me first...I guess meant that she'd wipe me down with a warm rag. So after getting wiped down with a wet rag I waited with my face not in the cradle for another 10 mins. When the massage therapist finally arrived it was 5:50pm, and I noticed this because there was a clock right above my head. As far as the massage goes, it wasn't the best but also wasn't the worst. You could tell she was trying, and after about half an hour I asked her if she could just work on my neck and shoulder. Her massage was more elbows and forearms which is okay but I needed some extra work on my shoulders. Overall the massage itself was average at best, but when she left the room and I looked up it was exactly 6:35. Lol, so I guess they considered the wet towel wipe down part of the massage?? My husband finished before I did, (which meant he got even more short changed then me) and tried to pay with credit card, which received more confused looks so he had to walk across the street to the atm for cash. Needless to say, I would not recommend Tranquility Nook. It's disorganized, haphazard, and cuts corners on every front. Also, they have new prices. I included a photo and also of the only sanitizer I found in the place. The prices listed on yelp aren't accurate. So $60 each after tip for a 45min weak massages I have to say wasn't a great experience. In summary: Not COVID compliant. NO credit cards accepted. Expect to wait. I went here pre Covid and it was really good. Last month I went. I was the last client with Apple. First, I was not given a full hour as i checked the clock. Second, there was none of the usual..."are there any areas that need attention, etc.," Third, there was no warm up of the muscles. This matters if you have tight muscles. Putting pressure on my feet I developed a little cramp. Instead of working around that Apple just didn't or much effort into the massage and didn't walk on me as i had requested. When my sis and I came to this location...we straight out did not like it when we walked in. It gives you a weird vibe. The place is like connected to a house or something. I asked for a deep tissue massage and asked if they walk on your back. The lady at the counter said yes. While I was gettin my massage my masseuse mightve gotten on the table but never did she walk on my back or even come close. She was gettin winded while doing my massage Afterwards...I saw what she looked like and she was a bigger lady..and I get why she was gettin outta breath. Her massage was weak. The reviews looked pretty good and they had an 'early bird special' if you come in before 3pm; so I thought I'd give it a shot. I had called ahead and specifically asked for someone with strong hands, to which they said no problem, come on in. When I arrived, he immediately asked me to pay for the massage up front (and asked if I wanted to add the tip)...shouldn't you actually receive a service before determining a tip? Additionally, the price he quoted was $20 more than expected...I asked 'what about the early bird special?), to which he told me that you have to 'ask for it'. So basically, if you don't know about it, the price is higher for you. Wow..smh. So I proceed to go into my massage which is the most frail little older lady that literally can only use her elbows and doesn't know where the muscles are and grinds on your spine with her elbow. After ten minutes of this I gave up and tried to get up and leave the massage but she insists on bringing in another masseuse...who I asked repeatedly to massage my right shoulder which is where the pain was, but she continued to do anything but. I love this place and been going there for years. I'm always able to get a same day appointment. Yesterday I had a new person work on me, her name is Alice .WOW WOW WOW she is an amazing massage therapist and definitely knows what she is during. It was the right amount of pressure ( and no she did not walk on me) She found knots and sore spots in my body I didn't even know existed and she later explained to me that those are causing the tightness in my back and hips. I cannot wait to go back and see her again. I read in another review a complaint about not being able to pay with credit card and the place not being Covid compliant. I strongly disagree with all of the above, they've always taken credit card ( again i've been going there for at least the past 4 years or longer) and they are absolutely 100% Covid compliant wearing masks, disinfecting their hands , etc. P.S Malaika has always been my favorite and I still think she's fantastic but please if you have a choice try out Alice you've won't be disappointed!!! read more

I am someone that gets massages as a health management strategy- I have tried many different places. Awkward and un professional way to book! Massage is a personal experience, and if you request a specific person, it's for a REASON, yes? I called in advance to request Annie specifically. I got a call about an hour later to see if I could push my appt back 1/2 an hour, because her client wanted to go into more time. I had dinner plans, and said I was sorry, "no". So, the owner said, ok. What did they do? Put me in with another lady, without asking nor informing me, otherwise I would not have booked the appt! But the place is so teeny, I was left staring in the face of the one I booked, (and her client) and the one who was getting in to the room with me. Uncomfortable, and not a happy way to begin. My masseuse was well intentioned, and I tipped her well. But the massage hurt me beyond my endurance level, and based on the way I was juggled, I won't be back. I do wish the company well. read more

Came in with a friend who raved about what a great massage she had at this business. They originally said they could give us both a massage. As we waited a man came in and he was escorted to the back. A new woman came out and told us if we came back in 30 minutes they could give us a massage. We came back in 30 minutes and another new man came in and was helped right away. We were then told by another woman that they couldn't give us massages today and to come back on another day with an appointment. Wow! Why make us wait just to tell us no? So the issue is communication. Totally missing the point we were asked to return in 30 minutes. That established an appointment. We left for 30 minutes and returned. It is rude to lead us on. A simple no we don't take walk ins today would have saved us 30 minutes of wasted time. That is a poor business practice and inconsiderate of our time. read more

First massage ever. I came with my girlfriend as we were celebrating our anniversary. She's been working out a lot and I can see some days take a toll on her. I'm a Marine myself and training can get drag my body down. The place itself is a nice little one, and actually very quiet considering it's off a pretty busy street. They welcomed us right away, we were sure to call ahead for 2. I got June, apparently she's been there for about 15 years. She asked me if I had any pains, how much pressure I wanted and regularly asked if I was ok. She found aches in pain in places I didn't know were there. My hour went by too fast, but she got all the kinks out. I think this may have to be a regular thing now. If you're an active person in the area i highly recommend this place. I had a pretty good massage there. I walked in and got the $50 combo Swedish/Thai for an hour, and I actually got 80 minutes of solid rub time. The place is nothing fancy, but clean enough, and the pressure was more than plenty. Figure a little pain is working out the good stuff. My masseuse, June, wasn't afraid to dig in and used a "Thai rub" on me, a menthol kind of thing, but a pleasing scent and rubbed it off at the end with towels, which was nice, so I didn't feel the overwhelming need to immediately get home and shower afterward like some massages. No, there was no "happy ending" to it and it doesn't seem seedy enough to offer that kind of service. I've had a fair amount of massages but I can't afford to get them as much as I'd like. But TN's price is right (and only $70 for 90 minutes) so I'll go back for sure. read more

I knew my back was bad but they found knots in my traps and my calves as well and really focused on the bad knots. I honestly feel they had great customer service there too. I've seen the place for a while now, but finally ventured in out of need as opposed to desire. When I first walked in, I did not get a tranquil feeling, but it felt like a palm reading place. There was a big screen TV with a soccer game on. A Hispanic gentleman appeared and pointed to the the displayed price list. As a I stated this visit was out of need as I threw my back out the night before and desperately needed to function for the weekend. I opted for the $50 "combo" deal. It did not feel like a thai/sweedish massage, so I think i got duped, but it felt good. It was almost she was still in training because there were times where i felt like she didn't know what to do nest. One thing that was nice was that the mattress was not on the floor. It looks like they built elevated platforms and hid them behind curtains to make these the "massage" areas. The funniest thing about the whole experience was that there was a sign in the massage room that said sex was not part of their professional services. For the money spent, I would probably not go there again unless absolutely necessary. Server was decent and its a better value than a massage chair at the mall, but the price is the same that I could pay at a nicer establishment. This place was very good! I came for the $35 1-hour Thai massage which I have never had before and it was definitely a great experience. I didn't realize that this type of massage is done mostly with the feet meaning that the masseuse will walk on your back pretty much. The pressure was perfect and the masseuse also helped me stretched, this massage was like a massage and physical therapy one. I don't know how much it will be next time I come however, at $35 one can't resist but to give place a chance. Plus it's a great deal.
