I started off with medium pressure, since it's my first massage and I didn't know how I would handle it. Maybe 10-20 minutes in, I asked to go for hard because I felt like I needed a bit more, and Tina was very responsive! The hot stones and hot towel were one of my favorite parts. I definitely could have been more vocal about what I wanted and needed in terms of where to focus. I wanted more on the claves and lower back and assumed I had more time, but then I was being wiped down! So I was like "Oh! How much time do I have left?" She had to pull out a translator which was completely fine, then she told me 5 more minutes. So I asked if I could get more focus on the lower back and calves, and she really went for it in those last 5 minutes!! A great massage for a great price point!

Otherwise yes; the rooms are fine, the music is the same every time, the sheets are just normal sheets. It's not going to blow your mind, but it's all really solid. The comments about tipping are weird; when you're paying so little for the massage itself, it's pretty easy math to understand why $20 is the least you can do, assuming you enjoyed your service. If you can't afford $70 total for a massage, you probably shouldn't be out getting one. Even the massage place charges $66 for 60 minutes as their base price, and the environment is comparable (massages are universally worse). And to be clear, no one has ever 'followed us around for a tip'; our masseuses do tend to walk to the front with us to offer us water and thank us for coming. It's really nice. My husband and I visit all the time and we tend to leave $30 for each of our masseuses because they're awesome. For context, we used to go to Raven Spa in Silverlake for our massages. It cost us $100 each NOT including tip to get a far inferior massage to the one we get at SP. We were paying for ambiance and brand, and we were actually pretty satisfied with their pricing for the area (even though we weren't really in love with the massages); until the first time we tried SP. Now, we pay ~$80 each TOTAL for the. best. massages. of our lives. Every time we walk out we feel 1000x better. Every masseuse we've had has been super receptive to pressure feedback, amazing at finding and working out knots, and really, really nice. I honestly feel the need to defend this place because it would be such a pity for it to not exist; I don't know how we'd ever get similar level massages at this price point anywhere else. I hope you'll ignore all the nonsense reviews and give SP a shot! I can almost guarantee it'll be the best massage you've ever had.

I told her I would tip after the service instead. Right away, the experience went downhill. She told me to lay on my stomach and spent the first 15 minutes just lightly rubbing my back with almost no pressure at all.
