This review is based on my wife's review after here recent breakfast experience here in the restaurant. Overall, the atmosphere is nice. The bacon and eggs she ordered were good, however she was disappointed they do not butter the sourdough toast (the sourdough is very good). The service is ok, but she indicated the server really needs to write things down to before efficient. Her particular server was friendly but had to come back to verify what she ordered, and forgot that she had ordered home fried potatoes instead of grits. She did stop by the bakery side and got a slice of the Italian cake which she said was delicious the highlight of her visit. Overall, she had a good experience. read more

I'm so happy I invited my neighbor/friend to lunch and we decided on The Trestle. I absolutely loved it!!! The sourdough bread was delicious! I had the chicken salad which was great!!! I had pasta salad for my side and it was so good. It was busy but even with the crowd the service was great!!! Truly enjoyed myself. Totally recommend The Trestle for any lunch date. It's really terrible when a place you liked and looked forward to going to again ends up being terrible. I'm not sure what is going on with The Trestle but our experience was horrible from start to Finish. Ordered un sweet tea and I get sweetened. I repeated tricentenario to the waitress and then she argues with me that I just said tea. My wife was sitting next to me and told her no I didn't and that I said un. Looks at us like we're lying. I know it's a small thing, but why not just apologize and get me what I ordered. Breakfast took about 25 minutes to arrive. My wifes eggs were basically raw after she ordered over medium. The waitress looked like nothing was wrong and that My wife was crazy. I ordered a side of hashbrowns as an extra to my breakfast sándwich for an extra $3 and probably got about a quarter Cups worth. Oh by the way, the waitress first brought us the wrong order that belonged to another table. After we told her it wasn't ours she blamed it on the kitchen that they got confused about My side of hashbrowns and that's why they didn't cook our order. So ours must of then been made on the fly. Ten minutes before the food came out, server also told us that they ran out of sausage for our order, even though the order was taken an hour prior. I am in Atlanta, GA and scheduled lunch for a meeting in Conway, SC. I communicated with Ms. Terry and had a few special food requests for my attendees; and, she not only accommodated my requests, but got the food there on time and hot with everything labeled for each of the attendees. I booked lunch for three different days with three different vendors, and Ms. Terry and The Trestle by far outshined them all! This was a pleasant surprise and answered prayer because it's hard to choose restaurants when you are not local and NOT in attendance to make sure everything goes smoothly. The Bistro is known for really good food, but some don't get the attention they deserve. Like the pasta salad & fresh baked broad loaves. You can buy different size containers too. Makes packing lunch easier & more affordable than going out. Fresh vegetables including broccoli, red onions, different colored peppers, etc. Parking can be challenging just to let you know. The historic town on Conway is a very sweet town made up of shops, bakeries, and even a general store. While walking through the town we stopped at the Trestle for breakfast. I enjoyed a wonderful fluffy and flaky raspberry turnover. My niece had a cake pop. While not the most nutritious breakfast we wanted to experience the ambiance of this quant town. The Trestle has several options to choose from. It was late morning so several items were sold out. It's a nice place to stop in for a pastry and a cup of coffee. Enjoy! read more

Had a nice breakfast, however I think it could be so much better with a few simple changes. First, I recommend the use of butter. All of their "butter" is vegetable spread, which is not healthy and since they serve it with your bread, they probably cook with it as well - but that's a guess. Simply put, use butter. It's cheaper and better and you can buy it in bulk from local farms and place it in nice molds for a custom touch. One can always play it safe by offering butter and vegetable spread. Second, improve the quality of the bread, especially the sourdough, it tasted mass produced, but not in a nice way. Good, made from scratch, freshly baked bread can make a huge impact on the customer. Third, the cooking equipment. I had a Denver omelet that looked like it was made on a flat grill. You know, where they pour out the beaten eggs and it spreads out thin, and then they fold it up so that you get a rectangular shaped omelet? That plus coarsely chopped vegetables paired with finely chopped ham, it just doesn't look good, and it would be so simple to make the omelet look and taste so much better, just by making the veggies the same size so they cook evenly. Finally the coffee, and this is another area that is simple to improve, however in order to improve you have to know what good coffee tastes like. Even though this coffee was freshly made it didn't taste fresh. The key there are the beans and the machine. Now all I had was breakfast, maybe the sandwiches are epic. Great little breakfast place. My husband and I ate outside on the patio. It was quite busy. I had the breakfast plate with scrambled eggs and bacon. It came with a side of grits and sour dough toast. It was very good. My husband had a build your own omelette. He said it was good, he liked the way they put it together with part of the add ins on top. My yellow sweet corn grits were good and creamy but a little on the salty side. Only one thing that can make this great breakfast better is real butter. I noticed no one around us ate the whipped spread provided either. Overall good service good experience , I recommend a try. read more

There are plenty of lunch and dinner options in Historic Downtown Conway but not many breakfast options. Actually, I think The Trestle is the only option in this immediate area. But not to worry because you'll have a delicious breakfast. We needed to get our breakfast "to go" so we wouldn't lose our spot on the Christmas Parade route. I ordered a Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Sandwich and a Sausage Egg, & Cheese Sandwich. The nice lady told me it would take about 35 minutes because of how packed they were. We were set up for the parade about fifty feet from the restaurant so it was good with us. I came back and picked up the sandwiches and we ate them outside in our bag chairs. The sandwich was good but the bread was the star. I'm guessing it was made it in their bakery a few storefronts down the road. It had a delicious sweetness to it. Best bakery in Conway! If you like cake that's fluffy, yummy, and won't send you into an immediate diabetic coma, this is the place. The frostings are nice for those that care, but as a plain cake person, this is the only source I've found for light, delicious cakes and pastries that are sweet, but not sickly sweet. On top of that, the service people are lovely and make great recommendations, like the cheese bread. They also have a nice cafe four doors away, where you can have a good breakfast or lunch at a reasonable price. All the baked goods are fresh from their bakery, so you can't go wrong. It's a nice place to bring the family, and they have outdoor seating in good weather. A Conway favorite in the heart of the adorable downtown district, walking distance from everything. read more

The Trestle has ALWAYS been one of my favorite places to eat when I go home. I am really predictable and always get the chicken salad, without the bread, just on lettuce. You can get it with a side of fruit or chips, or you can get it with the fruit in it. Both ways it is good. This time my sister got the open faced roast beef sandwich. This was something she ate and craved through her pregnancy and it has since still been her favorite. My daughter had her first pb&j here too! Such an adorable dining experience. The bakery is loaded with tons of antique wares that make for good conversation pieces. The atmosphere is warm and homey and the staff is beyond friendly and attentive. This is a seat yourself eatery with inside and outside dining in front of a beautifully painted mural. Uncaring staff and no problem resolution. The girl who only deigned to take my takeout order and couldn't have cared less about me got a simple breakfast sandwich wrong. I ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich which comes with egg and cheese a choice of meat. I chose bacon. ($7.25 + tax) upon getting my order I was charged $8.40. I went away happily knowing I would have a nice sandwich. After driving 20 minutes to my destination I opened my box and found only a croissant with 2 1/2 pieces of bacon on it. No eggs, no cheese. I called and the girl said she was "sorry " but I was only charged for what I got. She had no answer for why I would be charged more than for a sandwich that should have included eggs and cheese and couldn't care less. read more

My review is due to the poor attitude and young counter girls treatment of an elderly man applying for a job, not the food as I have been a customer of that establishment for a while and used to enjoy their selection This review was started over 2 months ago and I only recently found that I forgot to yelp it and decided I must finish it and send it as the experience was so troubling The trestle food was fine, their desserts are good. While I was there, while eating my food, there was an elderly man attempting to apply for a job that he said he heard from a friend about The young lady behind the counter was totally ignoring him as he asked for a job application and while she was doing so was rolling her eyes while he was explaining he drove 35 minutes to fill out an application which she finally reluctantly gave him. He said he had hoped he could talk to someone to explain that he had nearly 45 years experience in the service and food business and was successful in every restaurant he worked at from a small diner in Middleboro Massachusetts to the busiest Olive Garden in the Country in New York City During this explanation, the young girl almost looked aggravated that this man would waste her time a feeling I could sense and I am sure he felt too, A young girl came in to also request an application was given one with a smile and it was obvious she could not wait to tell her all the nice things about working there, none of which she displayed to the older very well dressed senior He thanked the young lady for her time, handed in his application and dejectedly walked out of the restaurant After she was through talking to the second applicant, she handed me my check while complaining to me that this older gentleman had taken up her time and used that excuse for the totally inappropriate way she treated him saying they would never hire someone that old I asked for the store manager and was informed she was not in the store at that time I paid my bill I left no tip and decided right then and there that I would never patronize a business that would leave such an arrogant entitled person in charge of their store I now drive to Myrtle Beach for my pastries instead of a small bakery right in the town I live and will continue to do so rather than give the trestle any if my business I will NEVER shop there again read more
