Updating my review from a few weeks ago. We live about 4…read morehours away and have family that lives in the area that we like to visit. This place 520 has become our family breakfast on Saturday mornings when we visit. The place is always busy. Sometimes we gotta wait on a table but they usually move pretty quick. On thus trip I talked to the owner as I was paying and told him how good everything was and how far we drove and had to drive home. Oscar is his name and is a great guy. As I was paying he fiddled with the register and as he gave me my change he slipped me a gift card. I was kinda taken back a little and we talked a little more then I went back to the table to finish our coffee to get ready to leave. I got to say the staff here is spot on. Never did we want for anything. The food was great and coffee was delicious. So we pack up the kids and go out to the cars to transfer bags and luggage when I turn around and here comes Oscar the owner. Evidently I dropped the card he had given me. He came right out and we talked a little more to the point I feel we made new friends with each other. I totally recommend eating here. You won't be disappointed. Bring your kids and family and enjoy a great home style breakfast. It's great!

We had the West Coast Benedict which came on a bed of hash browns topped with over easy eggs, hollandaise, bacon, and avocado slices, plus a sweet cinnamon roll bread on the side. Everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I also had the avocado toast without egg and loved the side of fresh fruit. It made for a quick, healthy, and satisfying breakfast. The coffee was good and the staff was friendly and attentive. The place feels welcoming and full of life with families laughing and staff greeting regulars. The space is clean with cozy country style decor and a laid back vibe. There are two entry points for lining up and plenty of parking. It is right next to a walking trail if you want a stroll after that delicious meal. Came for breakfast but the lunch and dinner menu looks worth coming back for.

We ordered the surf and turf with an extra lobster tail, the 22 oz ribeye steak dinner, two sundaes, and the French onion soup. The French onion soup was a bit too salty for our taste, and the ribeye was slightly dry for our liking. Our son practically drank his surf and turf and lobster tail, so it's safe to say he loved his meal! The ice cream and strawberry purée were also delicious. The dining area was clean and nicely maintained. Overall, we'd definitely come back, now knowing which items suit our taste best.

A True Hidden Gem in Galesburg - Craft on Seminary…read more We had an outstanding experience this evening at Craft on Seminary in Galesburg. From start to finish, everything was top-shelf. We sat at the bar and were taken care of by Amanda and Adam, whose service was absolutely exceptional -- professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly. We've been to Craft a few times now. Our first visit under the new management didn't quite live up to our expectations, but this second visit was an entirely different story. The food, service, and overall experience were all exceptional -- you can really feel the team hitting their stride. We started with the Prime Fillet Carpaccio and the CHEZ Willis Calamari, and both were fantastic. Perfectly fresh, balanced, and not over-seasoned -- just clean, well-executed flavors that let the quality of the ingredients shine. The atmosphere strikes that ideal fine dining tone without feeling stuffy -- the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy a great meal, and appreciate true craftsmanship in both the kitchen and behind the bar. We truly hope more people discover Craft on Seminary -- it's the kind of place that deserves to thrive. If you're anywhere near Galesburg, make a point to stop in. You won't be disappointed.

The dining area is small, you likely cannot accommodate a larger group without a lengthy wait. We arrived around noon on a Sunday and waited about 15 minutes for a table. They provided a pager and indicated you could walk a 3-block radius, then recommended some shops nearby. When our pager went off we were promptly seated. Tables area is tight, there is not a lot of room to spread out. Our server came quickly and was friendly and accommodating. There are separate menus for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Options include crab cakes, Belgian waffles, paninis, pastas, and of course sweet or savory crepes. There are many options that are either gluten free or can be offered gluten free. The bread is homemade which always a bonus. We ordered a GF Turkey Melt, a Bacon & Cheddar Waffle, and Pesto Chicken Pasta. Everything came quickly and was delicious. We would all order what we had again, but with the expansive menu would be excited to try other options also. Many items on the menu can also be ordered in a smaller portion for a reduced price as well. I did this with my pasta, as I wanted to save room for a sweet crepe. For dessert, we ordered a Nutella Strawberry Crepe, a Black Forest (minus the cherry) Crepe, and the Hot Fudge Crepe (half portions). The Black Forest and hot fudge were filled with vanilla Hagan Dass ice cream. They were all so delicious and I recommend saving room to try one. They also offer their coffee beans to take home (and will grind them if desired) in half or full pound bags. The Praline Pecan is really lovely. Overall, if you are in the area, definitely give this place a try! It would be hard to be disappointed.
