Best turkey dinner in the south Surrey and white Rock areas. Unreserved opinion. And we have tried quite a few different restaurants.

I have seen the Turkey House & Deli on UberEats for sometime now and have always been curious what the food selection was like, and what they had to offer. Today, having forgotten to pack a lunch, I ordered delivery via UberEats, and was greatly surprised by what I received. Upon first receiving the delivery I thought "wow, this packing is big..!" And it's because inside was a large box, perfectly nestling my sandwich, alongside my coleslaw and drink on the side. The bread was toasty, upon arrival, and the food box well taped to protect the contents while still letting steam and vapour escape to prevent the bread from getting soggy. The Reuben, made with delicious, tender Turkey pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss, and 1000 island Dijon sauce? One of the best, if not the best, Reuben's I've had in a long time. One of my favourite sandwiches and I was tantalized on the tongue and palette. Very pleased- the side of pickle was a nice accoutrement! A generous portion, well balanced, with a nice tang and crunch, bundled up with a meaty bite. Seasoned perfectly for my liking. As for the coleslaw, it was also good. Opening the lid you could smell the flavour and freshness, and upon first bite taste it as well. Crunch of the veg and pop of the dressing.. highly recommend. Glad I chose it over the fries as a healthier alternative I won't bother rating the GoodDrink iced tea as that was obviously brought in, but you can't go wrong. Tasty. Someone else ordered a selection of turkey sandwiches for our group while we were nearby. Boy, I wish I could come here more often because they most definitely make some of the BEST sandwiches in town! Fresh veggie ingredients, toasted buttered bread, roasted (?) turkey slices - generous portion. There are different variations and all were great, not only thru my experience but also according everyone else in our group. A turkey crawled in my mouth and saved my life! Attended a wedding ceremony in the area and being an hour drive from civilization, I didn't have time for breakfast. I was pretty desperate to eat after the ceremony, so much that I accepted I may have to eat at a local Subway *shudder*. Anyway, thanks to Yelp I found this hidden gem instead. To say they have turkey everything is an understatement. The restaurant menu had 34 turkey meals (gobble gobble!) ranging from burgers to thanksgiving style dinners. The take home deli counter has more turkey items than I have ever seen. A dozen types of turkey sausage , ground turkey, turkey pot pie, schnitzel, cordon bleu, everything! As someone who doesn't eat pork or beef and regularly looks for the one poultry option on the menu, this is pretty exciting. I am a fan as I sit here gobbling down my food (see what I did there?) trying to decide what to take home with me. After reading prior reviews, we weren't sure we wanted to come here. But, we were so glad we did! It is now our favorite lunch spot. We took our time reading the chalkboard menu and we were not rushed at all. They answered all our questions wonderfully. Our sandwiches - turkey gyro and turkey/apple/Brie on focaccia was so good! Someone came to check on us frequently to see how we were enjoying our meal and to chat. Next time we want to peruse the deli as all of their meats, deli salads and baked goods looked phenomenal! I really, really like this place and their wide variety of turkey options such as turkey potpie, turkey sausage roll, turkey breast...ok ok you get my drift. The ambience/interior in the restaurant is like having lunch at your grandma's house, some people may not like it and want a modern dining atmosphere but I can go to Yaletown or Gastown for that. I actually like the 80's wooden decor in there, it's homey and comfortable. I got the California turkey sandwich for lunch with a side of potato salad and they grill the bread like it's grilled cheese so it's super tasty and crunchy. I also got some sides from the deli to take home, it's definitely a great place to check out if you work too much but want some healthy options in your fridge for dinner. read more

Okay, so I want to start this off by saying the food is not bad and the people are okay. I had a turkey schnitzel burger, and I would have given the burger 3.5 stars. The soup was pretty minimal and I would have given it 2-2.5 stars. For food overall I'd give it a solid 3 stars. Took quite a while to be helped, even though it was pretty empty, and in the end they had forgot an item we ordered... but the staff corrected themselves promptly. The issue that I noticed is that this place needs a revamp from ownership or something. I get the sense that someone poured their heart and soul into this place in 80's, and then went on a 30 year vacation. I'm not just talking the decor, I'm talking presentation, service, food, the whole bit. The local area has stepped up its game, and there are a lot more people this place could cater to if they start noticing. It seems like this place will appear in chef Gordon Ramsey's kitchen nightmares... and in the end everyone would hug and the restaurant would be wayyy better. I don't get why we can't eat the deli counter stuff in the restaurant as sit down food. It seems like certain food warmed up and presented as sit down food would be service added to keep people coming back. I've been to many delis where this isn't an issue. Not sure what the 'zoning' reasoning is all about but I can't imagine this would be a municipal deal breaker when they're building 25 story condos down the road... seems like an odd thing... Turkey everything. Large deli along one side of the room and diner style restaurant on the other. Due to their zoning the deli items cannot be eaten in the restaurant, so that lovely turkey pot pie I wanted would have to be to go or not at all, bummer. So, we ordered the turkey dinner.... it was good, but not great... we both thought it would've been better - kind of looked and tasted like something you would get at Denny's or something similar. Their other restaurant choices include a few sandwhiches and burgers. They have cakes, brownies and bars and they all look good - but none that we have had tasted great.... you can get the same quality at any chain grocer. The service is poor to fair, they don't seem to be a happy crew, rolling their eyes at each other and just generally unhappy. The redeeming factor of this place is the turkey sandwhich - get it to go and enjoy it! We were around the area and a friend suggested this place. They have everything from turkey jerky to full on turkeys. Spent a long time reading the menu, and we realized that this restaurant serves pretty much everything turkey. EVERYTHING. Let that sink in. The inside looks like a 1980s revival of your mother's house complete with those pompom things that anybody's mother would purchase from the dollar store. We ordered little bits and pieces from the deli and decided to eat there as well. The food was well, some parts okay, some parts overcooked, and some parts one of our group described as "tasted like it's a day old", and our water glasses smelled a little funny. The turkey jerky we got was too salty though the turkey pieces that we bought that had some sauce in it tasted good. (Think turkey version of the Mcnuggets) For the service, the people on the deli were friendly but obviously in a hurry as there were tons of customers during that day. Do you really like turkey? Really, really like it? Well, this deli just off King George Highway near White Rock sells nothing but turkey products. They have turkey sandwich meats (smoked, black forest, roasted, you name it), turkey sausage, turkey bacon, turkey chili, ground turkey, turkey samosas... you get the picture. My favourite thing is the spicy turkey sausage rolls. As well as a perpetually busy deli counter (don't forget to take a number), there is also an eat-in cafe. I don't think they put turkey in the coffee, but they serve a killer turkey sandwich and turkey soup. Now that I've told you, you don't have to wait for Christmas and Thanksgiving in order to get that day-after leftover turkey fix. read more

Totally awesome turkey everything! And I mean everything. If you love turkey, this is the place for you. Everything I've had here was excellent. One of my favourites is the Southwest turkey burger. Very fresh tasting, with a thin (and flavourful) turkey patty, guacamole, and greens. Fries it came with were allright, but nothing to write home about. Only thing that seems odd to me is that they close at 6:00. Odd, right? If you want to have dinner there, you have to be there early! When we got there the other night, one of the staff was mopping the floors. All the tables (except two) had their chairs on top of them. We found a table, and all was well, except for the smell of bleach from the water solution they were using for the floors. For those of you who don't know, the restaurant portion is sort of "cafeteria" style. You order at the counter and they bring you your food (very quickly, I might add). Doesn't bother me, but it might bother someone looking for a proper sit-down-and-be-served type of meal. Never had a bad meal here, will be returning! read more

Service was great, food was great, and we are thinking of eating here on Thanksgiving Day. I highly recommend checking it out if you've never been here before! I had never even heard of this place but we grabbed lunch from here and I got the California Turkey on gluten free bread with the house salad. They are super nice here. The food was clean and fresh. But I did order a salad and there weren't any utensils. In anycase the food was great and very filling. The bread was not dry and crumbly. I recommend it. read more

Everything here is pretty much made of Turkey. Turkey pastrami, turkey soup, turkey strips and so on. You get the idea. They also have a deli section with a good selection of turkey items. To be honest, the interior is nothing to write about but the food is good. I really like their turkey strips. They are lightly battered, crispy but juicy meat on the inside. I honestly did not know this place existed until I started working in the area. I understand it has been around since the 70's and people of South Surrey/White Rock have had this treat in their backyard the whole time. Ok, onto the goods; The deli: Turkey everything, and I mean everything! Jamaican patties, sausage rolls, sausages, burgers, deli meat, turkey broth, you name it. The diner: Numerous Sandwiches(cold cut or pressed), numerous burgers, full turkey dinner with the fixins, schnitzel, home made pastries, and if you're an early bird, breakfast! Huge portions, huge menu to cater to your preference. My faves so far: From the deli, Ground turkey for tacos, Sausages (brats and breakfast), Sliced turkey pastrami for sandwiches. From the restaurant, Swiss mushroom burger, Full turkey dinner, Turkey dip sandwich. If your heading across the border either from WA or BC, stop by and treat yourself! I can't say enough good things about this store. I live in LA and my brother lives on the East Coast. My mother is 90 years of age and still lives on her own in WhiteRock. She loves this store, but is having trouble doing her own shopping these days. I spoke with the store Manager (Rita) and she helped me get my mother's order just right so I could have someone come by to pick it up. My mother is a VERY fussy eater and only eats quality food. She must be doing something right, living until 90 and looking 70. So if she thinks this store has quality food, that's an endorsement alone. As an occasional visitor to this area on the boarder of White Rock I have found the Turkey House a godsend on occasion as I was staying at a local hotel and trying to stock my in room fridge with ready to eat items. They have an extensive deli counter with both cooked and raw offerings, all based on Turkey of course. They are also a sit down restaurant with order at the counter service. Again the offerings are mostly Turkey based but the choice is extensive. I was glad to discover recently that they had extended their hours to Sundays. read more

The deli is great, a good selection and variety or turkey. Always had good meat from this place. However, the restaurant side of things is very average, hence my review. Soups have little to them, the bread on my sandwiches was not fresh both times I came here which is the most important ingredient in a sandwich. My husband found this restaurant for me after an extensive internet search. I am crazy for Monte Cristo sandwiches and they are very difficult to find. This is an unassuming and very friendly deli/restaurant with WONDERFUL sandwiches and fries. The bread is fresh and homemade (I chose the sourdough), the ham was actually turkey ham (very yummy) and all of the turkey products are made on site. I will definitely be back! We purchased a stuffed turkey roast for Thanksgiving and because it is just my wife and myself it was the perfect solution for a turkey Thanksgiving dinner NO LEFTOVERS. unfortunately it was the worst turkey we have ever tasted it was tough and old. The brown meat was hard to slice even with a sharp knife and the skin tasted so old it was awful. This roast would have been too expensive if it had been free. I drove over thirty minutes on a Tuesday afternoon to the Turkey House. I asked for a 15lb Turkey only to be told that they did not have any! Sorry, wwwhaat the Turkey House does not have any Turkeys??? Had it been around a holiday or something then sure I would understand but to not have a Turkey on June 2 is absolutely unacceptable!
