Okay, so this place is cool!!!! It's like a house made into a coffee shop with a second floor for studying or anything. The staff is young but very accommodating and helpful in making the drink you really want. Supperrrrr cozy but many seating options for a coffee shop of its size. The menu is pretty much the regular cafe menu PLUS you can add or mix anything, making it versatile and easy to configure. I got the lemonade with peach syrup. It sort of flopped, the lemonade was fresh and it tasted like I bit into a lemon and suffered the consequences. The peach was absent, just sour punch so I sipped it over the course of my whole day!!! My partner got the Miel with caramel, which was delicious and heavier on the coffee side. The place is super cute and quaint. We were a staying overnight at a local boutique hotel. Coffee, of course, was top of mind Saturday morning. The Twisted Oak is cute and cozy! We waited in a short line, because this coffee shop was POP-ular! They serve a variety of pastries, bagel sandwiches and more! This is your quintessential small town cafe. Really rustic interior with usually some high school kids running the shop. They've always been friendly and happy to answer any questions. They also gave my pup a cup of whipped cream! I've only ever gotten some of the baked goods of coffee but they also have specialty drinks, ice cream, and some breakfast sandwiches. On Saturdays they have my favorite honey bran muffin; really wheat-y tasing, lightly sweetened with honey, and not drenched in syrup. They make some simple stuff in house like cookies. Oh-m-G!! This little spot is such a quaint but delicious local coffee shop!! I chose this spot to meet up with family in the area and I am so glad I did! While a total mom and pop establishment located in a mini, multi business building, it boasts incredibly strong and delicious cup coffee and treats! The space feels very homey. They have an upstairs where more guests can stretch out and you can tell that the business is just putting together to make it work. I was really taken back by how good my latte was for this little spot, and notes that they also have ice cream. While it might not be the most picture perfect spot, it definitely lives up to its promise. The service was always excellent as well and the staff were very professional. As you all know by now, I love coffee places like this WAY more than chains. The Twisted Oak did not disappoint. They have some fun combos on the menu or you can make your own. I had the Iced Bananza and it was good without being super sugary. They also have a nice selection of baked goods if you're looking for something like that. Service was friendly and fast. read more

My first experience inside Twisted Oak is from the day after I moved to Hastings (Twisted Oak is about ten minutes away in Prescott, just across the river). They have a coffee drink called The Dragon's Breath, which is coffee with (I believe) dark chocolate and cayenne. It's my favorite thing, especially on a chilly fall day. They too each of their coffees with a little chocolate-covered espresso bean, which is just the cutest touch. You can post up here with your laptop to work - tempting for digital nomads like myself, especially because you obtain close access to their biscotti, which can quickly lead to tighter pants and an even tighter wallet but hey, yolo. Staff and owner are extremely friendly and genuinely seem happy to chat - they also make a concerted effort to remember you if they see you enough, and I find that especially endearing. Very friendly and hospitable staff when we were there. Well decorated with a simple style. Cozy. However, the size of this place is way too small for my taste, felt stuffy. I thought the beverages and snacks were priced on the higher side. You can barely see the "coffee" sign from the outside, difficult to see when you are driving by. While we were there it seemed like most people just got a coffee to-go and didn't stay, possibly due to limited seating (about 5 places to sit) Nice gem in this neighborhood. Be mindful of the step right behind where you order. Single restroom is in the hallway and shared by other businesses. Good spot if it's bad weather and not crowded considering the smaller size of this venue. read more
