These people are straight up thieves!!! When I went to see their packages they were running some kind of special where if you signed up for 4 months it was cheaper than just doing month to month. So after the 4 months I thought I was finished. Well apparently they keep taking money out of your account until you tell them to stop! They took 66.00 a month fir 5 months before I caught it! And I did not tan at all during those months! They will not give me my money back because they are thieves! Their beds constantly have bulbs burnt out because they know that you have no way of knowing how old the bulbs are so they leave them in till they burn out! That should NEVER happen! I love this place at all locations to be honest. Customer service is amazing, the beds are always clean and I've never had to wait for a bed either. They really know what they're talking about whenever I have questions about lotions or my skin and I appreciate that a lot. read more

ZERO STARS. Horrible service. Champaign. Hold on to your credit card numbers!! This business likes to steal your money by not fully explaining their temporary "freeze" option. After stealing over $125 from my card over a 5 month period for NO services rendered, they then tried to offer me 2 free tans instead of a refund. Laughable!! Keep in mind...when I finally realized their mistake, I canceled my c. card info with them IN PERSON at noon on August 15th. Not 1 hour later, I found a NEW pending charge on that same card!! They literally attempted to steal ANOTHER $27.50 from me. Wow. When I called them back regarding this, I was told "Sorry, that was done at 7am and we cannot refund that either." HORRIBLE SERVICE. Thieves. EMPLOYEES NOT TRAINED PROPERLY. Go elsewhere. Well thank goodness Wells Fargo doesn't take that lightly. I am managing a full dispute and will be refunded accordingly. read more

This is literally a TERRIBLE excuse for a tanning salon. I went here last week for a spray tan, I told the lady at the counter 3 different times I wanted a bronze coat, not the clear coat. When my spray tan was finished, I noticed I had no color change at all. 24 hours passed still with no color change, so I called the salon and they agreed to give me a courtesy tan because their new employee messed up my tan. I went in today for my courtesy tan, not only did the want me to pay for the tan maximizer, but they also wanted me to pay for the tan extender. After I clearly told them I shouldn't have to pay for the extras, I went ahead and did so. After the front desk lady didn't want to help me, I told her I wanted a full refund and would like to speak to a manager. She rudely told me there wasn't one available and they don't allow refunds. I told her to cancel my tan and I'm going back down the road to Classic Tan. Being a store manager myself, you always try to do the best for your customers. Ultimate Tan is a TERRIBLE EXCUSE for a business with outdated beds and machines. I will make sure I don't recommend them to my friends. read more

I dont know if I really trust their tanning suggestions - for a first time tanner with fair skin they wanted me in for 30 mins, even though I was worried about how my skin would react to the different method of UV rays with the indoor tanning lotion. This place is all about the sales, not so much about the safety and care of their customers. I would recommend paying a little more at another salon that actually cares about you, and can make accurate recommendations. read more

Let me start by saying, the staff is really friendly. The location is fine, the parking is adequate, the lobby is usually clean. This location is undergoing a remodel and now only has two ultrabronze rooms. The ultrabronze is what makes the ultimate stand out from the rest of the salons in town - so this is disappointing, especially bc I don't have time or the desire to tan frequently and it's virtually impossible to burn in the UB. So-Make an appointment to use the ultrabronze. Now, I remember about 8 years ago when the staff seemed more knowledgeable about the products and skin care in general. It seems that when Shelly (old management) left, it's gone downhill. The recommendations the consultants give are NOT worth listening to. On more than two occasions I've left with a burn bc I went the time that was recommended instead of following my gut. Also, on several occasions I have tanned in a bed with one or more bulbs out. This last time there was lint inside between the crystal and bulbs- which means they are not being cleaned appropriately. In conclusion-- the ultrabronze is the only reason I continue to go here. The day it's gone, I'll find a new salon -- until then I can deal with everything else. read more

Great tanning salon! Its always clean, beds ready, great atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. The manager goes out of her way to take care of any needs that you have. They are very knowledgeable about the lotions and will help you find what's best for you. The hours are great and I have never been kept waiting. Great service always! read more

I have been a member here (18.88 a month, unlimited) for over a year and believe this salon to be absolutely fantastic. The manager, Brooke is always there to greet you with a smile and a friendly chat. The entire staff is knowledgable and helpful. Upon signing up for their services, I was given a questionnaire, which is updated yearly, that clearly and concisely determines my skin type and how to go about building a lasting tan. I am a level IV skin tone, but started gradually. Never once have I burned or peeled. Within a 2 week timeframe, I had built my base and was up to max usage time in the beds. Each bed's time varies. I have never been in a bed for 30 minutes, with the exception on the Ultrabronze bed.. However, with that type of bed, you lay on a comfy mat and flip midway through.. So 15 minutes on each side. I have been to many tanning salons in the past and The Ultimate Tan is, by far, the best. read more

I used a coupon from the campus coupon book today. Even though we weren't paying for the tanning because of the coupon, the staff was extremely nice and attentive. She gave us a tour of the facility, explaining the different types of beds. Although she didn't pressure us into buying lotions, she was very well informed on all of the lotions, and had good, personalized recommendations for my friends and I, based on our skin tone and tanning tendencies. In tanning salons, especially around campus, I'm used to ditsy sorority girls at the counter who don't know about, or care about, what they're selling, but just want an easy job they can do their homework at. The woman that helped us was as pleasant and informed as they come. Even though it's a 2.5 mile trek from my house, I am considering buying a package from the ultimate tan, just because of their service. read more

WORST beds ever. Don't waste your time or money even trying. I don't think they ever change their bulbs that much unlike classic tan. Years ago I tried this salon and it was horrible but living close to it I thought I would give it another shot. I went tanning for a week and not once during a single session did the tanning beds ever get hot or give me any sort of tan. I wasn't even pink! I am going back to classic tan where they know about getting you a nice tan. read more

Cheap tanning, no strings attached. You can cancel when you want to without an extra fee and can tan the max time in any bed without an "upgrade" fee. Left Classic Tan after four years to come here. I am not disappointed. I am, however, saddened that Classic gouged me for tons of money in upgrades, goggles, and lotion for the past few years. Go with Ultimate. You can freeze your account for free, and they don't push you to buy product you don't need. Very nice and informative staff. read more

If you want a good tan, this is not the place for you. I'm a university student so I wanted to try a salon a little bit off campus. What a mistake. I bought a month of tanning and they started me in something called the "super bed" first of all the top part was dangling over me and I did not feel safe at all. I then went to the advanced beds after feeling the super bed was not safe and very weak. The advanced bed was not much better. The only thing I can contribute my tan to is the bronzer in my lotion. These beds are weak, I doubt they change the bulbs at all. I even went once, got in a bed and the bulbs wouldn't turn on. I had to go out and they sent me to a different bed. Definitely not up to specification. If I skip two days, my tan is completely gone. PLEASE LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS ABOUT THIS PLACE, I wish I would have, and to be honest, you're not saving any money on this place because you won't even be getting tan. read more
