Zero stars!!! We spent approximately $600 on my daughter's prom dress here in early December. During the appointment, the staff specifically asked for her school, grade, and which prom she was attending. That strongly implied the store tracks this information to avoid selling the same or very similar dresses to multiple students attending the same event. Despite that, at least five other girls from her graduating class have since purchased extremely similar dresses from this store. As a result, my daughter no longer feels comfortable wearing the dress she was originally so excited about. I contacted the store directly to ask why this information is collected if duplicate dresses are still sold for the same prom, and to see if there were any options to resolve the situation. The store never responded. For a business that charges premium prices and markets a personalized prom experience, this is unacceptable. If there is no exclusivity policy, customers should be clearly told that upfront. Collecting detailed school/prom information while continuing to sell near-identical dresses to the same event is misleading. Future customers should ask very specific questions about duplication and exclusivity before spending this kind of money here. read more

I brought my sister to shop here and immediately a lady told me that I can't bring my dog in without even asking if he's a service dog or not. Then proceeded to say that he's gonna scare customers (even tho people were greeting my dog) and then told me I had to hold him even tho he's on a leash and does not bark. He has anxiety and so do I. I respect store policies but not workers who are passive aggressive especially at a retail job. But I can say there was one other lady that was so sweet and kind and actually greeted him. I'm pretty sure it pissed the other coworker that was being rude. All that attitude for 3 customers in the whole entire store in different areas mind you. From sizes 16-20 there was nothing selection that was youthful everything was pretty much like grandma dresses. I absolutely loved the service. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Of course this place is very busy during prom season. I get that. The number system works- so it's efficient that way. But it just felt gross. And very bargain basement. With bridal shop prices. I mean spending $500 on a dress is not cheap- and not worth digging through racks stuffed with dresses in no particular order (other than size) where they are zipped in plastic and you can hardly tell what it looks like- but you better grab it- because it's probably the only one. Then trying them on- where the stylist helps you to zipper it and put it on/ off the hanger (to limit damage). But in reality- they are already damaged. They are all floor models that get tried on so many times a day. When looking closely and asking about a loose seam or straps that were coming undone I was told "that can sit get fixed when it gets altered" and "a seamstress can fix that easy" I mean I am buy a $500 brand new dress- it should be pristine! When asking around about a specific dress you are told that they can see if they can find it- because there is no order to what they have and where they have it. I will never go back here. You want to see dresses and then choose which ones you are interested in- not just frantically pull them off of the rack. I hope that everyone that needs a dress- if you do go here and decide on a dress- go order it online somewhere else- that way you will get one in great condition for the price. Maybe then the store will think about how they treat the dresses. Just don't let them know- they don't like having anyone "just looking" Our stylist was great (other than telling me everything can get fixed by a seamstress. But I overheard the management (or supervisors) talk badly about many people just looking or kids without their parents- so they won't be buying. terrible experience here, they don't let you try on any dresses until you get your name called and it takes forever until you get called. once you try on dresses it feels like thy are rushing you out of the store. they barely had any dresses that were cute and most of them were the ugliest dresses i've ever seen. employees do not check on you or help you find a dress you are looking for, pricing was insanely expensive, do not go here. read more

If I could give this zero stars I would. I am extremely disappointed in the policies of this store. I am a senior and was very excited to shop for my prom dress. The workers are extremely nice but I don't understand why I have to put in my school if this store is going to sell the same dress to 5 other people and prom is still months away. I bought my dress because I felt that it was unique but I don't feel that way anymore since this store continues to sell the same one to everyone!!! I came here to get my senior prom dress. I was very nervous, as my junior prom dress search was not a good experience. When I was signed in, there was an amazing staff member who was the sweetest. I wish I could give her a shout out, but I was so nervous walking in I couldn't catch her name! I started trying out dresses and she was very patient with me. When I tried on several dresses that were too small on me and I started getting overwhelmed, she was so helpful, and I walked out of the store about an hour and a half later with a dress I love! Felt like a department store. They kept paging over the intercom for any available employee to come to the front for help. They did that like ever 5 minutes it seemed. At some point you would think they would stop asking as everyone was busy. Maybe they should invest in radios for the employees. We had an appointment but had to wait a while. Came here to try on bridal gowns. I made an appointment, specifying what collection I wanted to look at, and was told over the phone that they didn't keep those in stock (despite listing them on their site), but that they had plenty of things for me to look at that matched what I needed. I explained that I was still early in the planning process, and was assured that was fine too. When I got there, it was incredibly clear the person helping me had heard nothing about me other than possibly my name. She started by telling me that if I wasn't ready to buy that day this was a waste of our time. I almost left, but didn't. Despite the assurances of the woman on the phone, the person helping me was able to find exactly one dress that matched the modesty requirements I had (which were literally just "I want to wear a bra with it"). She then began praising it as the best dress ever, despite my obvious lack of satisfaction with it. But I guess she was right. I wasn't ready to buy that day, and we did waste our time. The highlight of the day was definitely the part where another employee had to rush over because the way the person helping me was closing the curtains was leaving me visible in my underwear to the entire store. A+ service there. Oh, and then she wouldn't give me the dress number, saying that she'd add it to my file so it would be there when I got back. Seriously? Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because it was really clear one I was inside that they were a prom store with some bridal gowns, and all the prom shoppers looked pretty happy. the lady Jannie who served us was extremely RUDE.The worst experience I've ever had in a store. My daughter and I were trying on dresses and she was "nice" kind of and insistent. I said that the dress was too tight and I have to wear a specific color I told her that I was considering to go in another store for my dress and at the same moment she changed her attitude and started to treated us very badly and very rudely, even though my daughter was still trying on dresses. Go somewhere else. I took my younger cousin shopping for her prom dress here, an older brunette woman sales associate "helped" us. She was extremely rude, upset my cousin, and was so mean to me I cried. My cousin and I chose 5 dresses for my cousin to try on - the associate made rude comments about the dress I chose. Also, the associate was visibly exasperated that my cousin did not find a dress she liked from the first 5. The associate went to find some more dresses and instructed me to help my cousin zip up her dresses. I was unsure how to do this as I didn't want to break the zippers of the dresses, but I did my best. Meanwhile, the associate chose dresses in bright red, pink, and baby blue after my cousin had told her she preferred darker colors like navy and emerald, and was a hard "no" to red/pink. The associate got mad at me when she brought the dresses over and I reminded her that my cousin doesn't like pink or red. My cousin refused to try on the pink and was very upset when she put on the red dress because the associate pressured her to. My cousin tried on the baby blue dress and I gushed over it as she looked amazing. But my cousin wasn't as big a fan and decided not to get that one. At this point the associate told us to go back out on the floor to choose more dresses to try on. My cousin is 4'8" so I carried the dresses back to the dressing room myself so they would not drag on the floor. Our sales associate was standing and talking with two other associates outside my cousins dressing room when we got back. Another associate who was not working with us made a comment like "oh, she's strong!" I smiled because it was a nice thing to say, but then the associate working with us took the dresses from my arms and said "yes but that's MY job, not yours." Then when I went to help my cousin into the dresses as our associate had instructed me to at the beginning of our appointment, she told me to stop trying to do her job. I was super confused because our conversation had been pretty positive before this interaction. I asked her why she had changed her mind, and she replied "because now your cousin knows i'm not a pervert!" ??? I was really weirded out by this comment as it was completely unwarranted. She very sarcastically told me to mind my own business and keep my comments to myself and let her do her own job. She said that comments from friends and family can be really hurtful and ruin the dress buying experience. I wasn't criticizing my cousin at all, I was just telling her how much I loved the pretty dresses she was putting on and how beautiful she looked. I guess maybe that could make it harder to make a decision? But I actually began to cry because her tone was so positive that at first I didn't realize she was being rude, so it caught me so off guard. Our conversation seemed very pleasant before she rudely told me not to comment on any dresses my cousin was trying on - despite my cousin requesting me to be there for that reason. So I stood up for myself and told her that my cousin invited me for a reason and she values my opinion. The woman then rolled her eyes and said "you know what, I think you should work with someone else," and walked away. There was another associate, a younger blonde woman, standing nearby, so I asked her over and explained what happened. She was very kind and told me the store gets a lot of complaints about the older brunette sales associate, despite the fact that she's been working there a very long time. Reading other reviews, I assume the negative reviews come from customers who worked with that sales associate. The blonde woman we worked with afterwards was very kind and apologetic for her coworker's behavior. Another younger sales associate saw me crying and came over and said "oh it's my fault for sending you to that associate, i'm sorry." So I gather the woman gets a lot of complaints. If it were my choice, I would have took my cousin and walked out after our experience with the first associate. But I was not going to be that person. This was my cousins first prom and I was going to make the best of it. The second associate chose dresses for my cousin in the colors she requested, and my cousin ended up choosing a $600 navy dress she looked beautiful in. I did speak with the manager when I checked out, and she was apologetic for the employee's behavior. I do think that employee should not work at the Ultimate anymore. She really ruined my cousin's first and only prom dress shopping experience, and she gives a bad name to The Ultimate, something her coworkers do not deserve. I have a black tie event this upcoming fall which I need an evening gown for, but I will be shopping elsewhere as long as the sales associate we initially worked with is still employed at The Ultimate. It's a shame because the other girls who worked there seemed really kind. You could have a great experience, or unfortunately you could have an awful experience, at The Ultimate. read more

I payed $340 for an amazing blue dress to wear to me and my boyfriend's prom. As soon as i got it home i noticed they sold it to me with a rip in the leg slit. The third time I wore it, the right arm strap snapped and my boob almost popped out. My daughter and I had a wonderful experience shopping for a military ball dress with Juliana. She was extremely helpful, sweet and patient and provided great feedback on her experience with previous military ball customers (as this was my daughters first experience). I will say the ladies that check you in are rather abrupt and bossy but once we were assigned Juliana our experience was great. Would highly recommend going there and asking for her. Suzanne!!!!! This staff member is amazing! We came in at 7 PM when there were a lot less people there. (I highly recommend this.) We got spectacular service from Suzanne who was probably tired from a long day of work but did not show it. She helped our daughters figure out what they wanted by asking them a lot of questions that they didn't even realize they needed to know to find the best dress for their body type and their personality. It made the length of time that it took to find the right dress a lot shorter I think. She brought them dresses while they were in the dressing room changing that she thought they would like and one of our daughters did choose a dress that she picked out for them. I care in today to buy a bridesmaid dress and left without trying anything on. I will never set foot in this store. I don't remember the name of this woman who was helping me for only a minute. She told me that if I bought the dress off the rack it will be 20% more because they have to pay shipping for a new one to have as sample for other customers. I then said why charging it looks like you don't care about your customers. She then said " I am walking away if I don't care about customers". I said you are giving me attitude and she said I am doing you a favor. I said what? I am doing a favor because I am buying. She said " not with this attitude". Never again will I go here. Went to pick up a dress and there was mesh ADDED where it wasn't before. It was supposed to be an open back dress, like when it was tried on. Now it has tan mesh. They were rude, accusatory and unprofessional. Said we were lying. We have pictures!!? She left in tears. They were unwilling to discuss and were extremely condescending. My daughter has been to several other stores looking for a prom dress and is very picky. We drove 4 hours to this store based on the reviews that stated there was a wide selection. We had a bad experience where the lady assisting us was very rude in a previous store so I was apprehensive to come here (also based on the reviews). We were able to walk right in and were told to select 5 dresses and place them at the end of a row with a numbered tag. Within 30 minutes we were assigned a dressing room and an advisor named Janie. I cannot say enough about how patient, helpful and determined she was to help my daughter find the perfect dress. She encouraged my daughter to try different styles and colors without being pushy. When we found her dress, Janie seemed as happy as we were and hugged my daughter. We left with a completely different dress than my daughter thought she wanted, but a dress that complements her figure and features perfectly. I'm not sure how girls find their perfect dress without someone like Janie. Unlike other shops, it was not a crowded or rushed experience. I'm sure it can get busier on weekends, but this was our experience on a Friday during presidents week. We were also able to pick out jewelry from a large variety of choices. Janie also found the perfect heel height and colored shoes to match her dress and jewelry. They had many clutches also, but my daughter did not feel she needed one. We left the store with everything she needs to wear to prom for way less money than I expected to spend. I highly recommend this store, even if you need to travel. read more

Since my partner was on the hunt for some jewelry for our upcoming wedding, we decided to stop in at this store because she had purchased her sweet 15 dress from the old location. When we walked into this new store we were amazed at how huge it is. It has a really warehouse type feel to it but their selection was incredible. The store itself had multiple counters of jewelry and the staff here was very attentive to trying to find other items that may be in their catalogs. As my partner look through the catalogs she found a few items that she liked at a reasonable price but the one issue that we had was the fact that if we order them from the catalog we would also have to pay for the shipping which was a bit ridiculously priced. This store also had an incredible amount of bridesmaid dresses, but again the prices were a bit high. I went to this store to find my dress for my senior prom. Large selection of dresses but most of them were UGLY and with so many people in the store, the good dresses were very scarce or not even in my size. Did not find what I was looking for then waited AFTER THEY CALLED MY NAME FOR 2 HOURS. Will not be returning. couldn't even say my school name, SMH ++ once we finally got to the dressing room the lady helping us was rude and rushed us and gave us zero time to look at the dress before unzipping us. Nope nope nope. Never again. I don't care how many dresses you have, your process and customer service sucks. Several phone calls where the phone just rang, then without even listening they just put you on terminal hold. A frustrated person finally gets on the phone all huffy. Then when realizing it's bridal and not prom, suddenly the attitude miraculously changes. An appointment is made and we drive almost 2 hours to get there and show up on time. We get there and are explained the process. Regardless of how big your dresses are or how many people you are with (in our case only 2 luckily) you ALL share a small dressing room. Our salesperson did not listen at all and pulled several "old lady" dresses for me and made my daughter/maid of honor uncomfortable by touching and tugging at her and taking away all the dresses she was interested in and telling her she didn't get any in the right size. The salespeople are too busy bitching amongst themselves to focus on customer satisfaction. Too many people are allowed in the store at one time. People are all over the place waiting for dressing rooms, fishing through dressses, standing in the way, sitting on the floor, standing eight people deep waiting for one princess to try on those same 2 dresses for the eighth time because she can't decide and has brought every family member and her one gay friend with her. If your prom shopping, they don't take appointments. You show up and wait. While we were there, they kept announcing various versions of "Hannah and 3 friends from Smith High" or "Emily and 4 friends from Jones High" and they'd get all their dresses and shove the entourage that had been waiting for hours into yet another clogged cluster mess dressing room full of teen prom yentas. After your upper arm workout of pushing hideous unsold dresses aside because they have packed an obscene and ridiculous amount of dresses on the racks, you get more aerobic exercise trying get the dress out of the bag and off the hanger without punching your roommate. All the while trying to be discreet and avert your eyes from the mirror and each other because none of these dresses are intended to be worn with a bra apparently. The salesperson doesn't help you put dresses back on the hanger either, but starts heckling you as to why you haven't come out yet regardless of whether you actually fit into the item or if you did, it is impossible to see if it's even a contender because you're sardined so tightly by the mirror you can't see anything except for the fact that you're now distracted by stray facial hair and OMG how did I leave the house with these eyebrows? So, then when you show the slightest interest in one, you come out and all the salespeople ooh and aah and touch you and put clips on and tighten things and try to convince you it makes you look like a size 2 in a size 12 and suddenly shoes and earrings show up. Because it's a higher priced dress, suddenly service has improved for me, but my partner's dresses have vanished. She gives up and gets dressed. She does agree that my dress is truly spectacular though. So I decide to buy it and the earrings anyway. I am whisked to the sales desk where my earrings are put in a nice box and my dress is put in a lovely garment bag. My salesperson tells me she cannot ring me out and someone will be right with me. I take my credit card out and I wait. And I wait. And I give my card to my partner and I go to the bathroom. And I come back. And I wait. And after 20 minutes I decide that these people do not care about me or my sale. I walk over to my dress in the bag. I open it up and take a picture of the tag with my phone. I now have all the information I need. This dress is not one of a kind. I can order it from another retailer. I can order it online. She made rude comments to me and the people that came dress shopping with me. She made my experience terrible. I left without the dress and went to three more prom dress stores and couldn't find the dress I wanted. I went back and asked this lovely girl Emily to keep the dress on hold. So...here's the thing...I HATE leaving bad reviews. I waited and debated and didn't really want to do this. HOWEVER....I don't want anyone to have the same experience as me...so...here goes. My daughter got married in September and like any other bride, she was very particular about what she wanted me to wear. I ended up at the Ultimate. I had purchased things there in the past and wasn't disappointed. At first...the experience was wonderful. I had an amazing sales person who help me try on just about everything they sold in my size. I finally settled on a beautiful navy blue beaded gown....550.00. She asked if I had shoes, I did. She said they were not the right color (beige-ish with rhinestones). She talked me into spending another SIXTY FIVE dollars on shoes. I didn't care. It was my only daughter's wedding. I wanted her to be happy and I wanted to look as good as possible. I actually went home happy. Now comes the day of the wedding. First...you know that thing inside the shoe...the kind of thin piece of paper/fabric/whatever (the part that your foot directly touches when you put the shoe on)...well...it wasn't stuck on very well and almost immediately came loose and was sliding around under my foot inside the shoe. It was extremely uncomfortable. For 65.00...I'd hope that simple things like that wouldn't happen. That was just the beginning. Now....there had to be a loose thread somewhere on the hem of this dress because I looked down and there was a LONG thread following behind me...kinda like the popcorn trail Hansel and Gretel left in their fairy tale. So....I picked up the thread and it turned out to be about 10 feet long. When I looked at this gorgeous, beaded, over 500.00 dress ALL the beads that had been attached to that ten feet of thread were GONE. There was a bald spot about the size of a dinner plate on my brand new mother of the (very picky) bride dress. Needless to say, I was VERY unhappy. It's a good thing I had planned to change or there would have been a half naked mother of the bride. I will NEVER buy another item at the Ultimate, even if it means I have to wear something ugly from somewhere else. Now...it would have made sense to go back there and throw that dress in their face...right??? Well...here's the other part. I was there with my mom who also ordered something to wear. She spent almost 400 dollars. She also went home happy. However...when her clothing arrived, they ordered the wrong size. When I went back to tell them what happened, I was told "all sales are final". I had to argue with the owner (or manager) in order to get them to order in the correct size. I think my fight was just gone. The only option now is to spend MORE money on alterations and have my dress shortened and hope there will be another wedding someday where I can wear it again. If there was an option for zero stars, the Ultimate would get it. read more
