I did the "Kayak & Swim in the Umauma River". Don't do this "experience" if you want to kayak down a river. I was incredibly disappointed by the fact that this was basically a very small lake to kayak around in circles, which is not what the title suggests. However, I did spend my time just swimming in the "pond" (like I said, a VERY small lake). If that's the experience you want, don't spend $90 to do it! read more

I booked the Atv tour for me and my 3 sons. We booked one Atv and a 4 seater. They had the ATVs lined up but were missing my four seater and another families 2 seater quad they did not seem to know the amount of people for the tour. Btw we only had two atv riders. Not a good start but once rectified the guides were great and very nice. We started our drive and the atv driver ahead of us was extremely slow. The guide said she could not move her but a few minutes later she did which was nice but the problem was we always stopped and had to wait for her. It was frustrating and it impeded our experience. The drive was beautiful but it felt like we went in circles. Also, it was extremely dusty and they provided no bandanas for protection. I have done other atv tours and it's kind of a must. The best part of the tour was the waterfall stop. We spent time in the water and it was lovely. I understand the slow driver was not the companies fault but it just made for a mediocre ride. I felt for the amount spent to book the atv tour the experience was not worth the price. Btw we did the atv tour on the Kona side last year and it was amazing. I think this company is suited to the Zipline tour not the atv tour. Just my honest opinion. I hope this review is helpful. read more

While visiting the big island, we knew we wanted to see waterfalls and maybe do a Zipline. After researching several experiences, we decided Umauma Falls would be an awesome combination of both. With trepidation, we drove to the property where staff immediately made us feel welcome and safe. There were a total of 9 lines and a suspension bridge. I had initially planned to strap my GoPro to my chest, but the ride and stops were smooth enough that I just held it in my hand and was able to get some great footage. Our guides were very safety oriented and made good banter. They even brought us a couple guavas and water in the middle of the tour! I can't even describe how amazing it was to zip right over the falls! After the zip, we had access to the property and were able to take in the falls and a short nature walk. The waterfall stop has a nice set of stairs that make it easy to reach the waterfall area. Awesome family experience. Our family of four enjoyed a zip line outing at Umauma Experience a few days ago and everyone enjoyed it a lot. They have nine runs. The only bummer was the winds were a bit too strong for them to allow us on runs 5-7 for safety reasons. But they were very accommodating and refunded a portion of the cost. My kids, who are notoriously difficult to please, said they had a lot of fun on the runs. And my youngest even did a couple upside-down (as I did). A fun experience run buy a very good crew. We are visiting our family in Kona the week before thanksgiving and wanted to book a zip line experience. My brother-in-law and my mother have never zip lined before and, this is my families 3rd experience. My 10 year old son was old enough to zip line without being tethered and loved it. My 79 year old mother had a blast for her first time and even entertained the the idea of doing it again, my brother-in-law said he can't wait to do it again. I want to thank the crew who gave a great experience, Mr. Wonderful Mai Tai and the rest of the 1PM crew were so fun, they had us laughing, were patient with us, showed us care and concern and took the best care of us. So we went to the Big Island for our family vacation this year and when you're in Hawaii, zip-lining is a MUST! And we are so happy we went to Umauma Falls! The lines were amazing and the crew was GREAT! Thank you Trent, Katie and Micah for making our experience (there was 10 of us) a one we will never forget! From the time I called (called same day to see if they could accommodate our party of 10) to the last zip-line, the service was great, super friendly and fun! If we had more time and no littles with us, we would have done the zip and dip packages but that would have been too long! If you have time, DO IT! Great staff! Beautiful landscapes. We took two young children on the zip line course. We felt safe and the environment was family friendly. Our kids really enjoyed positioning upside down while going down the lines. There's a shop and grill with a handful of food items on the menu onsite, which was great for getting burgers and hotdogs for lunch before we started. Loved it! read more

Really fun experience! At $200 per person, it's definitely expensive, but worth it! The staff are all great, very fun and personable! Unfortunately, due to the wind, they had to cancel after 3 out of 9 ziplines. They were so willing to work with us to reschedule, and if we weren't able to reschedule, then they were more than fair in refunding us! Catching up on some travel evaluations. Return from the Big Island a couple of weeks ago. Had an absolute blast at the ATV Umauma Falls Experience. In 2019 I did the horseback ride by the same company. I'll share those photos here too. This time we did the ATV ride and it was fabulous. Both times we were able to swim in the falls. This was the first zipline experience for 3 out of 4 in our group and we were a bit nervous. The guides were great about putting us at ease, helping us get started, and cheerfully rescuing people who got stuck. It's one of the few ziplines that take younger kids, so it was great to share this experience as a family. My only suggestion for improvement is to provide more information up front. Things I didn't know beforehand: whether tandem ziplining was an option (it was with the guide, at least for kids who wanted it), and how much stuff we could carry (as much as fits in a fanny pack, but we would have to bring our own fanny pack as well if we wanted our hands free). read more

Biggest highlight when visiting Hawaii! The place in general is absolutely stunning!! Check out my photos!! Literally the walk going towards the restroom is gorgeous!! When I went I did the 9 zip line spanning 2 miles experience. It was breathtaking!! Zip lining over waterfalls is insane!! Definitely bring a fannypack because backpacks and purses are allowed and you'll want to bring your phone safely. You're allowed to have your phone out during rides if you like but definitely proceed with caution. We got amazing videos!! They also allow you to zip line backwards, twist around, go upside down, and even flip into it! It was so much fun and the tour guides were just awesome!! Once you get back make sure to zip your tour guides!! Lastly they had a ton of little bananas that grow near by that you can just take after your experience (located at the front of the store) which is so awesome! I will 100% be coming back here next time I'm on the big island! read more

There are several zip lining companies to chose from on the Big Island. This one came highly recommended from someone that has done all 4 of the courses. I have to say there was a variety of lines and amazing views. If you're afraid of heights - join the club, but the company's professional crew was very encouraging and professional. This place is AMAZING!!!! From the location to the staff. My friends and I got to be there two different days. One was for the Zipline and the other for the rappell! The guides made the experience 100x better!! All were very professional! The crew we loved was Dakoda, Maikai, Trenton, and Kawai!!! They not only got to show us their beautiful work place. But also gave us some great laughs! Maikai and Dakoda were super interactive and funny. Also very helpful with telling us about what places to check out in the area, as we were just on vacation. Also wanted to mention we didn't get the second crews names for the rappell but they were just as great! Very helpful and made us all feel 100% safe!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! My 2 friends and I ziplined and drove the single seat ATVs. The Zipline course lasts about 90 minutes which includes 9 lines. I only had 7 total people in my group. This was a small group of people which allowed us to enjoy and get through the course moderately fast. ATVs: This lasts about an hour. The staff was AMAZING! We had 5 guides for zip lining. They were a such a fun group. They made the experience so much better especially since I was so nervous. The course is phenomenal! Green with waterfalls. Loved it! Ruby and Andreas were exceptional with the ATVs. So funny! I laughed the entire time. You WILL get dirty (rain or shine). Make sure you wear clothes and shoes that you won't mind getting dirty. Additional advice: Go early. We stayed in Waikoloa so it was over an hour drive to this place. Keep in mind these are one lane roads. Traffic was insane during rush hour. read more

A very big disappointment. We have done other ATV trips on the big island but have never had such an insulting experience. The ATV route was nothing more than a "track" around the top of a cleared field. We have done ATV trips on the Rim, and other areas of the big island on "real" trails with stops to show what the big island is really like. I actually blame our concierge at the Mauna Kea, as I asked her to explain what we will see and experience, and was given an entirely different description from the reality of the trip. I talked with the concierge staff after the trip and shared our disappointment and that their honesty with other guests is important. I would not recommend Umauma for an ATV trip. (A side note: we had originally tried to get reservations for the Zip line, however was told they were fully booked. During our entire time we trekked about the top of the hill, we did not see any folks doing any of the zip lines, hummm? I will tell you the young staff was very good and was probably the highlight of the experience. read more

My fiancé and I did the 9-line zip and had the time of our lives! Our guides Sydney, Skippy, and MaiTai were so awesome and made our experience very enjoyable even in the rain. We will definitely be coming back with our kids. All the staff from check in to the time we left made our experience easy and fun. They also have a cute cafe with sandwiches, snacks, and drinks so incase you get hungry after doing any of the activities make sure to stop by. They also have a really cute lawn area with tables and chairs. We played couple rounds of corn hole while we waited for our departure. This is for the Waterfall rappelling in December 2023. Waterfall Rappelling is like nature's own water park, but with more excitement and less queueing! Picture leaping off a waterfall - it's like auditioning for an action movie, but the only stunt is trying not to look terrified. Class 3 rapids? More like a natural rollercoaster without the seatbelts. We swim from one waterfall to the next, or hopped on the side, in and out .. The scenery? Absolutely stunning - think postcard-worthy views, if postcards were drenched in adrenaline. In summary: it's the wettest, wildest way to appreciate nature's beauty. 10/10, would plunge again and this time take a GoPro with me. Today we went to Umauma for the Zip and Dip. Our experience was 5 stars from start to finish. We were a group of 9 ranging from first time zip liners to experienced. Our zip line crew, Skippy, Jon and Kaesen were phenomenal. They were kind, funny, and extremely helpful! The safety precautions were top notch and our entire group felt comfortable zipping. After our zip we grabbed our gear and headed met our dip crew Maikai and Comma. They also were a 5 star crew. They were attentive to everyone that was swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and jumping in. They helped the teens in our group get set up with gear and out on the water. Everyone from our group chose to jump off the rocks and Maikai was kind and encouraging for those that took a little more time before taking the leap. We had such a wonderful day and will definitely be telling our friends in Arizona about this adventure! read more

Well, it could not have been a more exciting and thoroughly enjoyable experience that started with an enthusiastic and really inviting staff.
