The views were amazing at each of the stops. We did a total of 9 lines. We liked the zipline #4 the most, the longest with a great view. First we took a guide van to the 1st zip line then we ended at the entrance with the last zipline #9. A wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend and would do it again. read more

We did the zip and dip and it was wonderful! 9 ziplines over beautiful scenery, waterfalls, greenery, ocean view, it was magnificent! The staff were so nice and helpful and really made you feel secure, but they were also a lot of fun and made the experience so great! The dip in the river by the waterfall was excellent. what a fun adventure. They take care of everything and make it super convenient. Transportation to all of the zip lines made it super easy. Staff was fun. Gift shop and café is fully stocked so all you really need to bring is your sense of adventure and some sunscreen and some bug spray. We are already planning our return visit next year when we come back. I recommend going early in the morning to avoid the heat. from Waikoloa Village it's about an hour and a half drive and the view along the way is truly breathtaking. Driving up to this location was amazing. You will pass another zip line company as you make your way up to Umauma Experience. You can't miss it because they have a big sign as you turn left into their site. They have their own parking lot and you'll see horses in a field next to it. For those who don't want to hike far to each line, this is the zip line for you. My family and I did the 9 lines and it was fantastic! Our guides were Kip, John, and Hunter. They did all the work to secure us from line to line and made sure that we were all comfortable. The view was amazing because we passed small waterfalls underneath and we were surrounded by all the lush lands. I would definitely recommend this for everyone to check it out. Please avoid visiting this place! I usually refrain from sharing negative reviews because I don't want to impact someone's livelihood or deter others from a potentially positive experience. However, I feel compelled to warn visitors to the Hilo area against supporting this establishment. Our family travels all over the world, we are respectful of different cultures and people, this was not related to a cultural issue. Following a recommendation from #shakaguide, we decided to visit @theumaumaexperience on our drive to Hilo. Our boys were excited, so we parked, and I went into the store to buy tickets while my husband stayed in the car with them. After waiting for 5-10 minutes behind another group, I reached the counter. The woman at the register apologized for the wait and thanked me for my patience. Suddenly, another woman appeared, waving clipboards with signed waivers and demanding to know where they came from. I told her I didn't know and was just trying to pay. She repeated her question, and I reiterated that the waivers weren't mine. She then came around the counter, waving the clipboards in my face, and accusingly asked, "So, you're telling me these just appeared out of nowhere?!" I was shocked by her aggressive and inconsiderate behavior. First, she wasn't listening to me or the woman at the register, who confirmed the waivers weren't mine. Second, her hostility was unwarranted, I hadn't said a thing to anyone and was just trying to pay for tickets. Third, why would I opt to pay a second time if the waivers were mine (visitors received the waivers after paying)? I calmly explained again that I didn't know where the clipboards came from and just wanted to buy tickets for my family. She then questioned whether I had left my kids alone in the car. I assured her they were fine, but she continued to berate me about my supposed poor parenting and stupidity. I told her, "Ma'am, I'm a good mother. My kids are with their father. They are fine. You've called me stupid, accused me of being a bad mother, and I've done nothing to you. You should probably leave me alone or apologize." Instead, she questioned whether the A/C was on for the kids in the car. In all my travels, I've never encountered such unwarranted meanness. I left shaking, and by the time I processed everything, I was in tears and couldn't fill out the waivers. I realize that working in customer can be extremely difficult, I've done it. I realize how difficult it can be to live in a high tourist area, I've done that also. But nothing excuses the way I was treated at this place. We left, and didn't even stop in Hilo because I wanted no part of it. If you're still reading, I would appreciate it if even one person chose not to support this place. Message for the business: I did not get the name of the woman behind at the register, but she was wonderful. I was there on July 18, 2024, around 2 PM. She was incredibly kind and apologetic and should be commended for handling such ugly behavior with grace. She seemed stressed, likely because the woman who yelled at me had been harassing her all day. read more

We came to Umauma today for the zip line tour. What an amazing experience. Highlight for us was our 5 year old was able to do this one compared to other island zip lines which had an age minimum of 12. It's a bit intense for littler kids but if you have an adventurous youngster this will be a Core Memory hands down. Our three main guides today, Rusty, Kypp, and Kaaesen too great care of us and made sure everyone was safe. Make sure to watch when they do their tricks. This place is amazing rain or shine, even if your staying on the Kona side you owe it to yourself to make the trip, you won't regret it. read more

My family and I booked a zip lining experience, and while it started off a bit rocky, it turned into an unforgettable day thanks to the amazing staff. My wife and older son completed the first zip line, but when it was my turn with my younger son, he got too scared and refused to go. The staff was incredibly patient and understanding--they even offered to ride with him, but he was still too nervous. Unfortunately, I couldn't leave him alone, and understandably, the staff wouldn't allow a child to wait by himself without an adult. My wife had already gone ahead and didn't have her phone, so I figured that was it for me--I'd just have to sit out and wait for an hour while the rest of my family had all the fun. But then, the manager stepped in and truly saved the day. Since my younger son and I didn't get to zip line or try the ATV ride, they kindly offered us a refund or the chance to do the ATV experience instead. We chose the latter, and we had an absolute blast together! I can't thank the team enough for their kindness, flexibility, and exceptional customer service. I was so nervous going in since it had been almost 6 years since my last one, where they made me brake myself Our guides, Wes, Skippy, and another gentleman (shorter, heavyset - sorry, I don't remember his name) were so funny and sweet. Their confidence and humor assuaged my fears. They encouraged me to go upside down, which I eventually did! The only bummer was that the 4th line (apparently the best line) was down for maintenance, so we skipped that one. Guess we'll have to come back again! read more

This was the first time ziplining for my sister and I and the experience has definitely set some high standards for any zipline adventures in the future! We arrived a bit too early but the staff happily checked us in and gave us a map to allow us to explore the area on foot prior to our tour time. When it was time for the zipline tour to start, everyone was given equipment that was checked by the staff to make sure it was extra secure. Our main guide was Maikai aka "Mai Tai" who made everyone feel safe and welcome to ziplining regardless of experience. I don't remember the names of the others but they did an amazing job too! The first zipline starts off easy and low to prep you for what's ahead. Then you're quickly thrown into the highest zipline that overlooks some beautiful waterfalls and scenery. The following ziplines are just as good. The staff even teach you how to zip upside down and how to do a flip at the start of a line. In between zip lines, Mai Tai picked some fresh guavas from trees growing nearby for everyone to try. He even shared an ice cream bean with us at the end which was delicious! Overall this was an amazing experience I'll never forget! It's very worth the money and I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Big Island. Just a side note - zip lining cam get a bit cold when it's cloudly even with rain drizzling so it's good to bring a windbreaker if you encounter such weather. Even though it might seem hot at the start, the ziplining seems to occur at a slightly higher elevation which makes it cooler and more rainy. read more

My boyfriend (30) and I (28) had the best time on the ATV tour! The guides were awesome and did a great job explaining how to operate the ATV and lead us through a super fun trail. The best part was the waterfall!! It was an easy walk down stairs to get there and then you had access to a pretty waterfall with a great place to swim. Highly recommended. 9 zip lines, some super easy peasy, some high and speedy. The setting is absolutely gorgeous. There's a river, multiple waterfalls, a forest, the ocean, horses, cows, and the messes that horses and cows leave everywhere. So watch your step. The staff was great. Everyone was very friendly. Very kid friendly. I'm sure there are height and weight requirements online. We were supposed to both zip and "dip" in an area of the river with a waterfall but they canceled the dip because of recent rains and the quality of the water. Hmm. It pretty much rains every single day on the east side of the island so do dips ever happen? Seemed odd but ok. There were theee zips over the river and waterfalls.
