We had such a great time and our guides Maka and Travis were very patient and kind with our entire group, as we had some drivers who had difficulties. They made sure to stop and check on everyone to make sure we were all doing ok and comfortable continuing on. The ride was bumpy, dirty but full of adventure and fun. Definitely glad we chose to use the helmets and goggles, I can't count how many times my head hit the rails of the ATV. If you don't like to get dirty, then this adventure is not for you. Wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and bring an extra change of clothes to change into. They have showers and rinsing stations for you to use at the end to clean up. The pond was so peaceful and serene, I could just sit there all day. I personally didn't go swimming in it but several others did, and they even jumped off some of the taller rocks/cliffs. Arrive early and explore the property, you definitely won't regret it. The waterfalls, peace garden, the entire property is so lush and green, you feel like you're in a rainforest. If I'm ever on the Big Island again, I will definitely book another experience with them! read more

The waterfalls are amazing. The experience was average. We did the swim and kayak experience. Our reservation was for 12pm. We did not go down to the falls until 45 mins after. Nobody communicated to us that we would be joining another group. Finally left at 1pm with the zip lining tour group. Lunch was great, paddleboards were half deflated. Nobody communicated to us that we could jump off the rocks in a specific location. Missed the opportunity to do that. Probably would not book this experience again. read more

We also loved swimming near the waterfall at the end of the ATV Tour. The food at their cafe is also pretty good! What an amazing zip lining experience. Our guides are knowledgeable, funny, and serious about safety. They want you to have fun so we have a good pace throughout. They taught us how to go upside down - and that was really fun. Their lines are high and long. The views of the waterfalls, forest, and the ocean are all breathtaking. It even rained during our tour and it was a reprieve from the humidity but when it stopped it was humid again. TIPS: wear shorts that covers most of your thigh - it's to protect your skin from the harness. Otherwise I would think it'll be uncomfortable and probably cause some rash. TIPS: put on bug spray ... you're in lush mountainside and there are bugs. Forgot to spray behind my ears and I got a bite there. TIPS: wear closed toe and closed heel shoes you do not mind getting wet or muddy. read more

My first time zip lining & Umauma did not disappoint. We booked at the last second but was able to get a half course in. The half course did include the longest line but the scenery is what made this experience 5 stars. It's a little price but hey your in Hawaii so quit complaining. They also offer ATV rides and other attractions. Please be advised this place on practically in the middle of no where. So use the bathroom before you leave & make sure you have a full tank. read more

The highlight of our family trip! I was the only one who had never gone ziplining and debating about canceling my spot. But, I didn't always want to be the one waiting at the end. And this is the only way you can see all the gorgeous views and waterfalls. And I wanted to go tandem with the hubby for the 1st four lines. After talking with my buddy Issac and Vinel, who were in charge of phones and reservations, I felt 100% confident in the company, their tour guides and the safety of the equipment. I was able to put my mind at ease and look forward to HAVING FUN! On the day of, Issac gave me a big hug and checked on us while we were getting geared up and also at the end. He is the BEST!! Hunter, Avery and esp Sydney were our amazing tour guides. Wendy joined as a 4th on lines 5-8 to help and tighten my harness. Sydney & Wendy had huge smiles and were warm & reassuring, esp great with the younger kids (age 7 was youngest) in our 15-person group. I highly recommend selecting a 15-person (vs 20) group and doing the 12p tour to avoid the bright morning sun but also the afternoon rain! This is the only zipline company that allows for age 4 and up (35 lbs), hands-free and upside down zip lining over their own private property full of stomach-dropping gorges, waterfalls, rivers and beautiful scenery. We experienced this ride and swim right after our zip line adventure and it was amazing! A great challenge with great trails, and the equipment was in great shape! The adventure crew were also amazing people and fun! Be prepared to get dirty and happy! I highly recommend wearing the goggles they provide. The adventure also provides an incredible dip in one of the beautiful rivers along the trail, if you want! Had we known this, we would have brought towels and a change of clothes to drive home in! The swimming in the waterfall was a once in a lifetime experience that everyone should do. The Friendly staff provided kayaks & paddle boards for those who wanted them. We also enjoyed jumping from the side of the hill into the water. I recommend you bring a waterproof camera. my husband and I were visiting the Big Island for our 18th wedding anniversary. it was our first time on the Big Island and we loved it. it was also our first time zip lining! I was terrified! The staff was so helpful and patient. They made it so fun for us. By the time we were on the last zip line, I was trying to flip upside down! Along with my husband, the staff made me feel very safe and comfortable. it was a great time and I loved it! My only recommendation is to have cameras posted along the ziplines to take random and candid photos for purchase. We went for the ATV tour. I made the wrong reservation for only a 2 seater and "additional passenger" thinking that was a third person so when we went there they initially told us only 2 can ride but one of the staff that checked us in saw how uncomfortable we were with having to split up in a single ATV or one of us not having to ride at all, she made the effort to check if there was a 4 seater available and thank God they did! We thought that was really awesome because I wasn't comfortable riding an ATV by myself let alone with my son. So kudos for that! We checked in early, there was other stuff to do. They will give you a map of the place and you're free to roam around. They even said we can pick up fruits or flowers without any charge! I thought that was really cool. They still offered this to us after the tour ended and it made us really feel like family. It was so nice of them. The tour started on time. The ride was great, we had lots of fun! My husband had a blast driving through mud! Then there was this place where we rested (I think it was called the Grand Pavilion) and the place was beautiful! They even provided a small snack. The tour guides were very professional and nice! I just got Kelly's name but there was this other person and she was awesome as well. They made us feel at home and really showed us a great time! They took pictures for us as well and they turned out very nice! I think there was a route we didn't go to because it was raining the night before so for safety purposes we skipped that. But overall, we got the experience we were looking for. NGL it is expensive but the fun we had and the face my son had experiencing all that was worth it. Next Big Island trip, we'd try out their ziplines! read more

Highly recommend the ATV experience!! Was A LOT of fun!! Our group did a 2-seater and a 4-seater. Beautiful property to ride through, a good amount of mud puddles. You will get dirty! We enjoyed the scenery in between puddles. Definitely wear clothes you're okay with getting dirty (not white), wear old shoes or water shoes. Bring an extra set of clothes to change into afterwards and towels, some soap to use in the shower (they have on-site) Bring a waterproof pouch with lanyard for your phone! It kept mine dry and accessible for videos on the trail Our guides, Maka and Travis were super friendly and made sure we had the experience we wanted. The pond was chilly but much needed to get some of the mud off. Was refreshing and is such a pretty spot to take a break.. Getting into pond was a little sketchy... hard to see where to put my feet, rocks were a bit slippery... I'd suggest they install a handrail and clear a small spot to make it easier to get in/out. Trail to the pond was steep, definitely felt it the day afterwards! Leg workout!! Definitely worth the $$ and drive from Kona. We made sure to allow extra time for any traffic: arrived early but we're comfortable hanging out at the property.... The entire place and the staff are a class act. Friendly and happy to help. Seem genuinely happy to have us there. Grounds are manicured nicely, clean and provide comfort while waiting between checkin and activities. We had a great time! Definitely recommend! read more

The falls are gorgeous, but the place is really geared to sell you the more expensive zipline experience rather than facilitating a pleasant, short hike to the falls. The map they give you as a walking guide is utter garbage. It's a shame this place isn't a state park instead of a tacky tourist attraction, because it really is beautiful. If you want to walk rather than zipline, Akaka Falls State Park is just a few miles away. read more

The staff at Umauma were incredible. They know what they are doing. Our group had 20 people in it and yet we moved quickly and efficiently through the 9 line zip line course. Unbelievable views and speed on a couple of the lines. Also, my daughter was feeling dizzy at the last zip line (her fault due not eating much breakfast) and they took great care of her. Got her off the line and brought her some Gatorade and waited for her to recover and let her do the last zip line. So many great people working their. Thank you so much for a great experience. My partner and I did the 9-Line Zipline Tour. Easy instructions and check-in process. It was a fun experience overall. They did not allow us to carry anything bigger than a fanny pack on the 2hr tour with us so we could not carry any water bottles. They did provide water to us only once in the middle at one of the stops but something to consider if you go on a hot day. It was my girlfriend's first ziplining experience so she was initially very scared and it took her a good couple of minutes and a lot of encouraging words from me to finally gain the courage to jump. I am sure the staff of such activities sees similar cases often and they should be professional enough and trained to make folks who are scared, feel more relaxed with their words and give them some tips to help them feel better but John (the tour guide at the time) just stood there watching without saying a single word of encouragement to my partner and helping her in any shape or form, creating a tense environment for her where she felt a lot of pressure from him and the people standing behind us like she was holding everybody up by not jumping. It left a really bad taste in our mouths even though the zipline itself was fun. If you are someone like my girlfriend, you might want to consider alternatives. read more
