This is located in a small town on a quaint little Main Street that is adorned by super cute boutiques and other shops. Below the Union Hotel is a tavern called Mona's which is connected and an addition to The Union Hotel restaurant/12 room hotel. There's parking along the Main Street, as well as lots of spots in the back of the building. You can enter from the main entrance of the hotel and take the elevator down or you can head down the steps in the back to enter. Doesn't matter which way, just get here. We were absolutely blown away by the quality, portions, flavor profiles, and service in this little gem. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by a super friendly bartender named Matt. He was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. He was always checking up on us and making sure that we were always good. Service was fabulous. There's a timeline of the history of this historic building on the back of the menu. We ordered two drinks. One was an apple cider margarita and the other was a strawberry gin fizz concoction that was amazing. Both of these drinks were delicious. If we weren't driving and staying in the actual hotel above this tavern, we would have tried several other ones on the menu. Lots of creative choices that looked to be tasty based on the mix of ingredients. For the food - the menu was enticing and extensive. Lots of creative things happening here. The app we decided on was the Parmesan crusted Brussels and boy did they not disappoint. Absolutely delicious. We opted for The French Dip with fries and some magical au jus and a Union Smash burger with fries for our meals. Both are highly recommended!!! The burger was served on this delicious cloud of brioche bun and stacked high with two patties (perfectly cooked), pickles, dijonaose, and cheese. The French Dip had the most magnificent crusty roll and tender meat. Then there are these amazing Parmesan parsley fries that are perfectly cooked and served hot! We could have eaten an entire plate of these. To go boxes were needed. Big portions. We couldn't fit dessert! The bill does come with some tasty Andes mints. Prices here are extremely reasonable! I can't stress enough about how absurd it is that this small town has such a hidden treasure of a place where the food is beyond amazing. This place is a full package. We got the smash burger with truffle fries and some beers, and I'm not kidding when I say it was one of the best burgers I've had in awhile! The town of Everett is super cute and quaint. Lovely hotel. We will be back. Easy to reserve online. Free parking in next door lot, with luggage drop of lane right outside the hotel. Beautiful property from the stained glass entry doors, to the common sitting rooms, to the ground floor with a beautiful grand piano. Easy checkin with friendly clerk. Luggage cart and elevator to get to our room. 306. Bedroom is large, beautifully furnished with what looks like antique furniture, leather rolling desk chair, comfortable arm chair, couch and coffee table. In room luggage rack. King bed with one of the most comfortable beds we've slept on. Large bathroom. Separate shower/tub toilet area. All spotlessly clean. In room refrigerator, microwave on each floor by the ice machine. Beautiful view out of the tall window of a very pretty town square. Breakfast area was clean and nice, food was good. If we're in this area again we definitely hope to stay here. read more

Stopped here on a Saturday night for dinner. This had been on the list for awhile. Located on the main road of Everett, there is downtown parking and street side parking available. I will say whoever owns this place has put a considerable amount of money into it - marble flooring and accents, elevators, decorations to match the tin stamped ceilings, refinished hardwood flooring, etc etc. We were sat in the main level and ordered drinks and a couple of appetizers - bruschetta and beef sliders. The bruschetta has a twist of goat cheese and small tomatoes halved rather than the usual salsa type topping. The goat cheese and how it was executed was a little too much for me. Wouldn't get that again. The beef sliders were really good - would have liked to have a little more toasting on the bun to keep the buns from getting soggy but the horseradish sauce on these was great. I ordered a steak, mashed and brussel sprouts. Everything there was good. Now I get to the creepy part - upon sitting down about the time our drinks came in I started to hear a woman speaking in a low tone. Almost to a whisper. Adjacent to us left and across the room was a table of women so I chalked it up to weird room acoustics and attempted to ignore it. Then it continued. And it became more poignant to the point I looked behind myself twice into the hostess nook to see if that's where it was coming from. I'm not much for paranormal - but after the table women had left and the whispering to me continued I think I can say I couldn't explain that. At one point out of nowhere I got emotional for no damn reason after I was whispered to wishing I came around more often. That's when I went to the bathroom and ran water on my face to regroup. By dessert I thought it was done. Then I thought no heard more but figured I was imagining it. Don't know. At all. Food was great - I take nothing away from it but if you like ghost stories or things like that, the first table past the hostess nook near the hallways would be a good place to start. read more

This review is long time coming. My friend and I meet at the Union Hotel for drinks and gossip once a month for over a year now . We always sit in the bar area and Matt Gasper the bartender is amazing. Always surprises us with a new yummy cocktail . He usually works the downstairs alone but even busy nights he is attentive and our glasses are never empty long. The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly. Matt is easy and never seems overwhelmed. Quick to introduce a stranger at the bar for small talk especially if someone is dinning alone. This week we will be trying the updated menu....can't wait looks like some interesting new food for us to work our way through..... read more

I'm going to give a 5 for both the restaurant and Hotel both. The hotel was far far more than i expected at an affordable price. The one thing I absolutely HATED was the door entry. I also hated getting a text then having to check in anyway. Don't give me instructions to read and then make me listen again. You gave me info on a text on front door entry and room door entry. And I confirmed. Then, front desk person wrote down wrong # on the card she handed me. So, I still couldn't get in. Super frustrating to get to door and it not unlock. The door system itself is a horrible design. It doesn't light up or make an audible noise when you are pushing in numbers. Personally, you need to totally replace the entire door locking system in hotel. Even though I give a 5, I wouldn't stay here again just because of the door locks. I hated it that bad. Room was great, clean. Mattress was not good. Great bathroom. Now for Mona's restaurant. Burrata Salad was super. We got a 2nd side salad also super. We got crab cakes that came with potatoes and also roasted Brocolli. The potatoes and broccoli were way way too salty. I'm not talking a little bit salty, I'm talking too salty to even eat. Lesson #1, people can salt to their taste. It was beyond bad. The crab cakes and salad were great. Good service. For some reason the restaurant was totally dead on a Friday night. Only saw 1 employee the entire time. Maybe 2 other couples there while we ate. Could be really good, but I have a feeling this will not be open much longer based on business I saw on a Friday might at 7pm. Too much texting on your confirmations. Horrible door systems. Really could have been great. I'm still giving a 5 because it was close to a homerun. I so want it to be a homerun. read more

We stopped here on our way back from Pittsburgh since Horn O Plenty was closed. I think this might be our new go to stop. Cool, historic building with plenty of history as noted on the back of their menu. I had a Daura (gluten removed) beer. Wife had the sweet corn basil bisque which was rich and uniquely flavorful. Very good. I asked about the GF wings and fries and the owner ( who happened to be waiting on us) said they have a dedicated fryer so the food was safe. She recommended the Sweet n Spicy peach wings and they were awesome! They were still crispy and the sauce carmelized nicely with the wings. So good. Bride and I both got the jalapeño smash burger and you could appreciate the grass fed beef. GF bun was solid. It didnt fall apart and was flavorful enough. The fries were great. Cooked perfectly with sea salt. I was stuffed from the delicious meal but the owner "twisted my arm" and talked me into getting my favorite dessert, a GF version of Baked Alaska. Haven't had one in years since I was diagnosed celiacs and this definitely scratched that itch. They make their own vanilla bean ice cream in house which added to the decadence of the dessert. This place is a destination in the cute little town of Everett, Pa. Can't wait to go back. Already looking forward to it. Can't recommend this place enough. read more

This place was awesome. The atmosphere was the perfect blend of modern and historical. Each area of the restaurant had its own vibe. As for the food, we started with the bacon wrapped scallops (a special) and the lightly fried zucchini. Both were great starters. For an entree, I got the jerk grilled mahi mahi. It was a generous portion and I basically licked the plate clean. My parents got the porkchop - it was one of the largest porkchops I've ever seen. They loved the apple chutney glaze. For dessert, we got the caramel crème brûlée and the apple crumble. Again, both amazing. The drinks were great too. I recommend the pomegranate margarita and French 75. They also had an extensive wine list and a beer menu. The service was great too. All around a wonderful experience and I will be coming back soon! read more

If you are ever driving thru the area as I was (on a golf tour of PA and VA) you have to stay at The Union Hotel in Everett PA. This hotel has the small town vibe with a friendly and helpful staff but the rooms have all the amenities that you would expect from a big city hotel. The two days that I was there the kitchen was closed for breakfast so the staff left a tray with fresh baked pastries fruit and oatmeal. Also the coffee/tea tray was very well stocked. There is a very good restaurant on site and it seems to be the social center of the area. While I did not stay during the weekend there seems to be a lot of entertainment lined up. This hotel is family run and it should be a must stay if you are anywhere near the area. read more

What a beautiful building! It looks absolutely gorgeous from the outside & is stunning on the inside. We were warmly greeted as we entered and our server did not miss a beat with us during our meal. From the moment I made a reservation to stay at this hotel, communication from staff was clear in confirmation and later with instructions on using the entry code making my arrival easy. The day I arrived the restaurant was open, although I chose to check out the tavern on the first floor. I've tried several dishes and they were all delicious and prepared with care. The bartender, makes a great old fashion. This historic hotel is filled with charm. Each stay comes with a special breakfast of oatmeal, fruit, and homemade pastries. What a find (just driving through, no prior research)! Attentive service by an accommodating, professional staff, on all levels. We were there for dinner and an overnight stay. Appreciate the wine selection and perfectly prepared entrees. Room was fabulous and handsomely updated. Our family has a cottage along the river in everett so we decided to check out the Union Hotel. We called to ask about reservations (they did recommend). We asked about the dress code (jeans are fine). We arrived shortly before our reservation time. Ths hotel is beautiful from the entry way and on. It was recently remodeled, and it was done perfectly. Floor to ceiling it is gorgeous. The building is just over 200 years old. We were seated and told that they had just switched to the fall menu and were given the specials. I ordered the salmon with breaded zucchini sticks and mashed potatos. Everything was very good but my zuch sticks were cold. The salmon and potatos were fabulous! My husband got the tbone. (Supposed to be filet and new york strip) Unfortunately, he was given a new york strip. See pic. Yes.. that was before he cut into it. I'm not sure if there was even an ounce of filet there. His Salas was terrific and the ranch dressing was very good. My mom had the pasta. She enjoyed it and there was lots of it. My father had the chicken. He immediately sent it back to have it warmed. My son's wedding rehearsal dinner was at the Union Hotel this evening and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. The staff worked with our family to get every detail right. The newly renovated hotel and restaurant is a treat to have a meal at. Nearly everyone who attended remarked favorably on the beautiful atmosphere and excellent meal they had. The prime rib, mac-n-cheese, and peanut butter cake were truly delicious. Samantha's craft cocktails were a hit, too. There was even a wine sommelier on hand to help select the perfect wine to pair with our entrees. Had my wedding reception with them. Food was ok. Figured the meat and vegetables would be served separately but we're all mixed together. I'm glad I had no vegetarian guests. Food ran out and had to wait again for more. Was told that we were early and that's why. It is very hard to pin point times with a wedding and guests! Wait staff was clumsy spilled a tray of drinks on a guest and didn't even serve my husband and I! We had to get our own drinks! The directions that were typed and given were not followed correctly. We did all of clean up except for the table clothes, dinnerware and food trays. Got the bill and it was almost $300 more! Asked for itemized bill and was not given but they did redo the bill and it was $20 over from what it should have been. Picked my battle and decided to not bother bickering over it. It was not necessary to have our sweetheart table sitting next to the hallways to the bathrooms and path to the bar where people had to walk past us with little room if someone was standing there visiting us. All in all we were very disappointed. We will not return to this place again. read more

First time visiting and decided to try Union Hotel for Sunday Brunch. Walking in you immediately see a beautiful facility that has been finished to very high standards. The staff was inviting and engaging, hearing it was our 1st visit, they made sure details on their offerings were communicated. Problem with menu was EVERYTHING looked fantastic. Started with seasonal Beat salad we shared - was absolutely fantastic! We had the Crab Benedict and special Breakfast Sandwich. Both were delicious! But left no room for dessert... so had to take the Deconstruction Tiramisu home for a later treat .... But really needed 2! A real treat! The entrees were fine, however seven folks who got vegetables as sides all were cold. My wife ordered a baked potato and the butter on it would not melt! We just stopped in for lunch as we were driving through Pennsylvania. We had a very nice experience in the old inn The hotel itself has been remodeled and is finished off very nicely. For lunch we ordered the crab corn chowder, which was delicious as well as two sandwiches. Aarika was our server and was very helpful with our selections and provided great service. Wonderful dining experience! Food was fantastic, service was great and drinks made to perfection. The hostess seated us immediately and sent the sommelier to talk about wine selection. While we did not have wine on this occasion we had a wonderful conversation. Our waitress was top notch. Not overwhelming but we never had to look for her. Love that this restaurant is hidden in the lovely little town of Everett! There was nothing to knock this place about and that is very hard for any restaurant. My wife had the salmon and I had the bone-in pork chop. Both were done to perfection. Asparagus, Brussels sprouts and potato were flavorful and, again, perfectly cooked. I wanted this meal to be awesome. I was driving through town on a road trip and planned a stop for dinner. The best part was of my meal was my server who was also bartending and was also the manager of the patio music and upcoming events. He was honest about the wait and served me an excellent choice of wine. I ordered the filet and "lightly breaded zucchini." The filet wasn't seared and was undercooked. I expect this of lower priced steak chains. Sear your filet! There was also a fair amount of gristle on the steak...on a filet! It was seasoned well so it was edible, minus the gristle. The zucchini was confusing. It looked like a side of funnel cake. Definitely not "lightly breaded." I was just hoping for better given the hours I drove to eat there, and the price point. read more

We had a delicious dinner at the union! The short ribs were cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth! The salmon was also cooked to perfection and had a delicious honey chipotle glaze. All the sides were tasty! We had fantastic service and enjoyed talking with Todd, the sommelier, to discuss wines to pair with dinner. The owners have done a wonderful job remodeling and resurrecting this beautiful building and restaurant. I cannot believe this place. The owners are horrible people and the food was disgusting. The staff was very mean and abrupt. It felt as if me and my family weren't welcomed, and we're all people of color. We came in on a Thursday evening and the server took 20 minutes to even recognize us and when she did she was very rude towards us, and when we asked to speak to the manager regarding the quality of the food, the owner came over to talk to us and she was also rude. My daughter went to the bathroom and overheard the waitstaff making fun of our table. I definitely don't recommend eating here the food is bad and a racist atmosphere. read more

The hotel and restaurant recently opened under new management after years of being shuttered and has proven to be a wonderful addition to the town. The venue is beautifully restored and the owners have developed a menu to accommodate most tastes, including their own delicious grass fed beef. Prices are reasonable. They have a nice wine and beer list and several bars upstairs and down in a pub setting. Service is cheerful and attentive. This was our third visit to the Union and it just keeps getting better. Our server, Erica, was friendly, attentive and efficient. Our entrees we're delicious. The ravioli with short ribs and mushroom sauce was balanced and savory and the parmesan and garlic shrimp linguine with oven roasted tomatoes was flavorful without being heavy. I'm giving the Union Hotel Restaurant in Everett, PA 3 stars. The first 2 times , the food was excellent, primo even, but the 3rd time it was disgusting and service was horrific. So, I don't know if it's a hit and miss type of thing or if it is a failing enterprise, just wanted to make people aware of that. I had the shrimp tempura sushi and the shrimp was not fried, but the entire sushi roll was dipped in batter and fried (burnt) in bad oil. Yuck! My husbands steak was tough and full of connective tissue, potatoes were dripping with grease. The service was very slow. Most people were waiting over an hour and a half to two hours for food. I felt very sorry for the one couple with a baby, who probably wasted their first night out as parents. The owner was helping out and she had to know how very bad it was, but she was not at all apologetic. That is what got me. I know its not the restaurants fault for this but there were 2 really unpleasant girls in the restroom, yelling at each other and into their phones. They were there for the "open mic" night at the bar downstairs. We've also gone there a couple of times to find the restaurant was just randomly closed. I don't think I will be going back any time soon..... It's disappointing because we were really looking forward to going there regularly now that the 10/09 is closed. read more
