I've been here a number of times to ship stuff off through UPS and never had any problems. The other day, I went here to get something notarized and they did it for me lickety-split. Easy shopping center parking. Probably need a wheeled dolly if you want to haul anything heavy from the parking lot to this store which is sort in the back of the shopping center behind the Safeway and Subway shop. Then again, if it's too heavy to carry to this UPS Store, why would you want to pay to ship it? read more

This UPS store has stopped giving receipts for pre-paid shipments. For my business, I need the receipt that every other UPS Store provides for my records. I recommend going somewhere else if you need a $0.01 receipt for your pre-paid shipments. read more

HORRIBLE customer service! I waited for over half an hour today while ANTHONY notarized a bunch of documents for a couple. All he had to do was take my package and he kept blowing me off. Even the couple he was helping said he should help me and he didn't. I asked him one last time if you could just take my package and he ignored me. Every time I go here for services (mailing, fingerprinting, notary) they are always so wonderfully nice and give me a pleasant experience.

Well, I went there to buy an envelope and send in a rebate that I had. I was able to sent it USP vs UPS there and they said it was OKAY. When I was there checking out, I didn't see the "owner" put a stamp on my envelope for the USP to pick up. I asked him if he was putting one on and he said, "Yes, don't worry about it!" My boyfriend has gone here plenty of times and never has had a problem. So I trusted that they added a stamp and it would be sent out via USP. It's been 3+ weeks and the rebate center has NEVER received my information. Lesson learned into not trusting people. This is beyond disappointing. read more

The worker of this store, Kanan, always tells me that my tracking number is the same number you use as the parcel shipping order. this is completely false. I would have to call them to get the correct tracking number. besides from that, shes not really that helpful and doesnt like to talk to customers. im giving her two stars because she never provides me with a correct tracking number. this has happened to me more than once from this location. read more

Following up on my earlier review and as my claim progresses, I find that the "declared value" on the paper work is 2.5K when I explicitly asked that the contents be insured for 3K. Presumably I paid for 3K worth of insurance so where is the other $500.00? Working with another store on another insured package, I was shown 2 pages of fine print regarding insurance, shipping requirements and shipper responsibility which I had to sign. This information was not mentioned in any way with this store. I guess if you don't ask, they don't tell. I had a damaged package which resulted in lost items of considerable cost. During the claim process I was told that I needed the store account number. When I contacted the store the clerk told me that the account number is not to be give out and that I need to go through the store for any claim. Fine, I sent in the claim information and ask to be notified quickly if anything else needed to be done. 36 hours later after calling the store to check status, I was told they could not do anything because they didn't do the packaging. Not what I wanted to hear because delays only make the process more difficult to resolve.Terrible follow up. Delete review read more

I live out on Bay Farm and have a mail box there at the UPS store. Kanan and Shawnee are always going way out of their way to give great, personalized service. They can let you know when a package arrives if you're waiting for something. They come out to your car and load/upload if you need. Lots of little things you'll NEVER get at the post office. Highly recommend this shop. read more

In my experience all the UPS stores are great, but since I live across the street I use this location the most. I ship a lot of high-end photo gear and delicate wedding albums, and need a lot of impact protection on my shipments. While USPS is cheaper, the limited hours suck, they don't wrap, and theres always a ridiculously long line at the post office. And while FedEx packages are a little flashier and faster, its in Oakland, and they don't wrap either. Anyway, Kanan and her staff runs this shop like a true family biz and they do it with pleasant, personal, and prompt attention. read more

I went here to drop off a package to return an item to Amazon - shipping charges being paid by Amazon. But this store wants to charge me $1 for a printed receipt. Employee told me this went into effect on 12/4/17. That is ridiculous that they charge $1 just to print a receipt. read more

I have been using this UPS Store for my business account since 2009. My experience with the owners & staff at this store has always been exceptional. I find the employees knowledgeable, professional, friendly and caring. I receive a phone call to let me know I have received a package or overnight letter. I can not address the negative comments posted because everyone is entitled to their opinion. I was returning items to amazon which was delivered in 2 packages. However, Amazon has instructed me to just put the items in one package and attached two return labels and ready to be dropped off at UPS. I brought it to this UPS and have asked the person to scan the two labels on this one package per my instruction from Amazon. He said he can not, if he scans two labels it means he's receiving two packages. He got a point. It's true. So I just told him what I was instructed. He said very angrily & rudely "I don't give a damn". I was taken aback of his lack of customer-service attitude, impoliteness and just sub-human behavior. He also said, "They are idiots." , referring to Amazon. He turned his back on me and before I left I saw his Caucasian employee throwing a smirk at me, I don't understand what that means. The despicable rude man is an Indian. I have to mention their ethnicity for clarity since a few people work in this business. I don't recommend this business. I give this business zero star. I will never go back to this business and inform my families and neighbors to boycott this UPS at 875 Island Dr in Alameda. run away, do not walk, This place does not attempt to contact you with any issue it returns your mail to sender, Totally untrustworthy. The male who runs this store does not like Americans, especially if you are Caucasian. Owner becoming less less present and the phone will ring and goes straight to voice mail. I had a box for over 20 years here, and it was great until the new owner took over. He threatens to close your mailbox if you complain, then to show you who is BOSS, he returns some of your mail, and lies about it. one of the worst business owners I have EVER encountered. I've been going to this family owned UPS store for years, horrible customer service and they sometimes don't acknowledge you're even present ESP when busy. I often avoid this place and drive all the way to Blanding because they make you feel so unwelcome! Owners need basic training in customer service . read more

Every time I go in they are quick to help and very friendly. I have used them for many different things such passport photos to sending packages and I am in and out in no time. They let me borrow a dolly to bring in a heavy package and were most helpful to get the package out for delivery. read more

I wish I had read the reviews on here before visiting this store... I was sending a guitar in a large package. When I walked in no one was in the store or at the front desk and I had to call out before a middle-aged man came from the back room looking inconvenienced. He was very gruff and told me to just leave the package. I asked for a receipt and he tried to just return to the back room. After I insisted, he roughly handled the package, almost dropping it while clambering over other packages and dropped it on the counter scale making me wince. He kept saying "leave it!" even though it was toppling off the counter scale due to the heavier weight of the guitar on one end. After the computer scanner failed, I helped move the package to the second computer where he again allowed the package to dangerously totter off the scale. Fortunately, I caught it. After the receipt printed out I asked to help him move the package back down to the floor but he said "There's nothing you can do. You should have insulated it. Leave it! Leave it!" Even though a package has packing in it, it doesn't mean you can just throw it around or let it fall off counters. I felt very, very uncomfortable leaving the package there and will not be returning to that store which is inconvenient. I wish there was a way to have UPS do an internal review of the store because compared to other stores customers at this Alameda UPS certainly are not being treated kindly and I'm starting to question UPS' handling practices. read more

I have been using the services of this UPS Store for several years now. I live in the neighborhood. I appreciate that I can walk to it, or use the Harbor Bay Landing (Safeway / CVS) free parking (especially if I have packages to send). (And it is open Saturdays!) I was a bit shocked to read the negative reviews here today. I have had nothing but positive experiences when I have used their services. I have come here to send packages, make copies, use the fax service, and take passport photos. (There are many other services that they provide.) I especially want to highlight the professionalism of their employee named Andrew, who has worked here for many years. I have found him to always be efficient, knowledgeable, pleasant and patient with me, and the other customers that I have witnessed him interacting with. This has been when there is no one else in line, and at Christmas time when the store is packed with customers sending last minute gifts. Keep up the great work! read more

I went to the UPS store on Island Drive. I had to return a box to Swarovski via UPS. The Lady that works there said she'll take care of it and ship it back to Swarovski. Three months later I never received my credit from Swarovski. I call Swarovski and they never received my package. They will never credit my account since they never received the box. I was out of $225.00. I went back to ups she claimed she sent out the box. I never received a receipt or tracking number from her. I should have asked for a receipt but naturally I trusted her. She said I'll take care of it don't worry. I don't know what happened to my package. I think she might have kept it. You can't trust anyone now a days, be sure to get a RECEIPT from UPS store especially from Island dr. I lost trust at the ups store on island dr. I want people to know about my experience so they will not be disappointed like I was. This is a learning experience trust no one. My mistake. read more

Horrible customer service! Rude!! Staff opened my mail repeatedly!!! Got angry with me and would not give me my mail and closed my box without noticed. Always a problem getting mail timely as if they were holding it or hiding it. Owner is the worse to deal with; he hung the phone up in my face when questioned him about important mail that I know was delivered. went here twice. didn't have tape the first time to seal my package. the man taped it for me and it was all okay. second time i came back i did not have tape. i asked the guy working if he could tape it for me and he said no. i said the first time i came here it was done. he has the audacity to say "it's $2. the first time is free." to have a piece of tape on my package? i paid it, but it was nerve wracking because he only agreed to tape it for me AFTER i said i already came here once. $2 is nothing, but how he went about it was just terrible. read more

I needed two documents notarized. The notary was rude and condescending, telling me that my forms were wrong (1, they're from my attorney, so I'm confident they're correct, and 2, I'm a notary, I know what the forms are supposed to say). He filled out extra forms, and didn't attach them, which is bad practice. He also argued with me because I had signed the documents ahead of time, which is permissible for an acknowledgement, which is the service I requested. I will not go to this place again. read more

Great customer service. Called ahead for notary hours and notary service is available from open to close. Upon arrival we were in and out within 10 minutes. Quick, easy and painless. Will definitely use this site again as they are reliable and provide good customer service unlike the UPS store on Blanding who are dishonest with their notary hours. read more

I have been a business client with the UPS Store at Harbor Bay Farm location. I have worked with Kanan Gupta and Andrew successfully over that time. All our business correspondence came to this address. They have handled my mail and the shipping of medical equipment to the US and internationally during this time.. I paid over $200.00 a month for any additional services the store provided During the month of August, it seems that Kanan left her position and the store is now managed by her husband Mahesh Gupta. In August I had one package going to Romania and another going to Indiana. I sent three e-mails with instruction and called to confirm that the shipping would be done correctly. Mahesh sent the box with Commercial Invoices addressed Romania to Indiana and the package supposed to be for Indiana to Romania with any customs invoices. I was lucky to retrieve the box from DHL in Romania without any labels for no cost of the return but I did lose the $400.0 used to send it there and the provider in Indiana sent it back to me both at no charge. Mahesh promised to send the correct box to Romania at his cost. After he did this he told me that he would no longer do any shipping for me only handle the mail. The following day he told me that he would discontinue handling any mail and I had to leave the mailbox at the end of September. He said that he only made one mistake and it cost him $800.00. I wrote to him and said that I would pay the money he spent on shipping. He said he did not care. My mother wrote to him so that he would change his mind and said no and the shipping cost him $600.00. He then changed his mind and said I had to leave in three days. When asked for an explanation he said that "I did not get it". I finally called UPS Corporate to see if they could help, he then said I was abusive to him and his employees, although I have not seen any of them in six years. But at least UPS Corporate got him to agree to take our mail until the end of our paid contract. I called him again to try and get an extension for the box until the end of the year and he told me that "It was his business and he could what he wanted" he also said that there was no humanity in his business. In short he has ruined a very successful relationship of ten years, not only is he sending packages to the wrong places, he has become abusive and irrational. In addition to making up malicious stories about me to UPS Corporate. If all this wasn't enough he is now refusing to honor the UPS agreement of receiving and holding my mail for six months since the agreement states that I cannot do a change of address. He said that I was taking advantage of him by asking that he honor the UPS agreement. I will be reporting him to UPS Corporate and the Better Business Bureau read more
