I encourage you to request an "estimate" first, regardless of how reluctant they are to provide. What they usually do is begin by asking your telephone number, and if you're not in their database... Then they'll start asking you your return address information (if you've already provided them the destination address in writing)... So what they do is they try to get you "invested in the process" And then you are "less likely" to step away from the counter after your "sticker shock." The folks here do a really great job and with all the COVID stuff, they really are going above and beyond. It's tough right now but a lot of places are doing the minimum necessary but it's apparent here that they're thinking about the smaller things to keep people safe. So, in addition to handling packages, drop offs, etc., they've always been pleasant and helpful even if the place is busy. For COVID, they require everyone in masks, have markings on the floor for distancing, they keep the door open (minimizing touch points and keeping good air flow), shielding, hand sanitizer, separate containers for clean/dirty pens, and even little bags next to the pin pads so you can put your hand in one and not touch the pad directly. This is the ONLY place that I've seen with something like that which is awesome to see a small business really being conscientious of those types of things. I liked these folks before given their convenient location, easy pick up, taking care of packages requiring a signature, etc. but the extra care they're taking in these crazy times is truly notable. Good day, I went into the UPS Store on the corner of Academy and Tramway Monday the 25th of October. I've always had excellent service for the last 15 years until the 25th. I waited for 35 minutes to send a broken Leupold scope in for repair to Leupold. The gentlemen at the counter asked what was in the package and I told him I would like it insured. The UPS Store representative informed me the UPS STORE WOULD NOT SEND OUT MY PACKAGE BECAUSE IT WAS A GUN OR GUN RELATED EQUIPMENT!!!! HE SAID, " YOU CAN TAKE IT TO FEDEX AND THEY WILL SEND IT OUT FOR YOU!!!!!". I replied (after wasting 35 minutes of my time), this is the most backward, socialist, and special interest violation of my 2nd amendment Constitutional rights!!! While I know this is NOT UPS's policy, it's the UPS Stores Policy on Academy and Tramway. This is a violation of any law-abiding American's rights!!! I want to ensure everyone in Albuquerque understands and knows the special interest policy of UPS Store at Academy and Tramway and doesn't patronize or be subject to their unconstitutional policies!!! I'm sure upon review of this commentary, the owners will delete this post. Another violation of my Constitutional Rights (the 1st Amendment). I will post this same review in other venues. This store charged my 82 year old mother $200.00 to " overnight," a special temperature controlled package from NM to AZ. They decided to send that package to Kentucky first, during a major snow storm, without alerting her to that risk. The overnight package arrived 6 days late with the contents spoiled. She asked for her money back,$ 200.00 is a lot to spend for a service not rendered due to their decision to route to a major storm area first, instead of directly to a neighboring state. They refused to refund her the three times she wrote letters and requested that large sum returned. This doesn't even take into account what she was trying to send was spoiled and was worth 300.00! They took her money and kept it for a service not rendered. AWFUL big corporation taking advantage of an unsuspecting consumer. They do not care about you or back what they do.Do not trust this store, NOT reputable for honest service. read more

Excellent experience dropping off two items. One folder of documents for second day air and one huge box for ground. Service was excellent. The store was well prepared for shipping in a COVID-19 environment. The young lady working the store all by herself was efficient, welcoming, and very helpful. She juggles three of us at the same time: me with my two very different packages, an older gentleman who was checking his box, and a lady who was packing a box and needed guidance. Wish I could recall the UPS lady's name. She was awesome. Have complete confidence in this place. read more

Dianna was a gem: I have a chronic disease, and covid would be disastrous for me. She allowed me to minimize my contact and was totally patient and kind. I usually weigh my boxes and print out a label at home, but my box was too big for the scale. Dianna patiently served me with no complaint and only kindness. I will be going to this outlet again, often, and recommend it to anyone. UPS has served me well in deliveries through the pandemic, and now it's helping me with sending, too. I showed up right at 6:00 pm as they were closing to drop off a package. Little did the young woman closing know that I'd had the day from hell, with the coup de grace being my 10 month old having a poop explosion 15 minutes earlier that had resulted in soiling his outfit, my shirt and his car seat. She kindly took the package and printed a receipt when she didn't have to and it was greatly appreciated. read more

Took two different types of chiles(mild & xhot) in two separate bags to send home. Was assured they would pack them separately in paper so they wouldn't get mushy in the plastic. Awesome. They ended up mixing all the chiles together. Irritating considering how much it cost to send them. The chiles did arrive in good shape though. Would go here again, but will make sure I stayed to ensure instructions were followed. Or just buy all the same type of Hatch. Lol read more
