I have been going to this UPS store for ten years and until today they had always been fantastic. Not sure if it is a new employee, but I am blind, and today when I went in their email was down, and I needed to email them a document to print out. I was told that they have a self service kiosk but of course that is not accessible to someone who is blind. I asked the employee if he could help me, but he could not be bothered to get off his butt from behind the counter and just kept telling me to enter my credit card and follow the on screen commands. Dude do you not understand the concept of blindness? What is wrong with people these days? I guess from now on I will be a Kinkos guy. read more

This is the only UPS store in the area and as such, it is always incredibly packed. What's worse is the parking situation around here. This UPS is situated right in the middle of hectic Steinway Street, so there's never a spot, which leads to people (including me, sorry) to double park and run in with their 'too heavy to carry on foot' packages to return, which causes traffic. Despite the cluster that is this UPS store, the line moves quickly, all of my packages have made it to where they're going, and the Amazon return kiosks they've implemented here have cut down on some of the chaos. Value wise it's on par with shipping costs of any other UPS in the area. Service is efficient, not overly friendly but honestly the less chatting the better to get folks out the door and on their way. read more

This was the worst UPS experience I've ever had at this location. The staff appeared disengaged and unhelpful, and their customer service was severely lacking. I strongly believe this location needs to hire more capable, customer-oriented employees and implement comprehensive retraining focused on respectful and effective service. Without significant changes, I can't see a path to a satisfactory customer experience here. read more

I've been coming here for years and never had any issues or problems with customer service. I have to say I only would drop off pre paid packages and never actually used their other services other than the package drop offs. Sometimes there's a line and usually when that happens one of the employees just asks out loud if anyone has any Amazon returns and pre paid packages so they can just drop them off with him which cuts down the line usually by more than half. read more

I was pretty frustrated the other day after paying for packaging and shipping for an item I sold online. The guys forgot to include the charging cable, which caused a headache. At first I wasn't able to get someone on the phone to help me out, which had me writing the thing off as a loss. HOWEVER, I called back today and they found the power cords and offered to ship the item out for free to resolve the issue. They were apologetic and got this handled for me and I am very appreciative of them doing that. read more

I encountered an absolutely apathetic, unprofessional and unaccountable group at this place of business. I repeatedly had important mail lost...and mail that wasn't mine placed in my box. I spoke to Lavi several times and asked to have a manager call me; the manager never called nor was he even available whenever I called. It's unfortunate because I rented a po box here for yearsss due to my travel schedule! So I can confidently say that the 'shift' began when new management took over towards the end of 2019. This is a neighborhood store so when would expect a slightly better than poor customer experience knowing that most of us in the neighborhood would be repeat customers I went in for the first time on Sunday, and it was the worst experience. I went to pick up a package. They took my ID to verify my identity and told me to wait. They then returned my package, but not my ID! Only discovered that I forgot my ID with them when I got back home! Not the best service. read more

This is literally the most incompetent group of assholes I have ever encountered that are supposedly trying to run a business. I rented a mailbox from them last September. They lost my packages THREE DIFFERENT TIMES, they took zero responsibility for those incidents and then without warning, They apparently closed my mailbox without any indication as to why... When I said "why didn't you call me and leave me a message?" the "manager" said "well it went straight to voicemail so I didn't leave a message..." what?! when I went to confront them about my missing package, THEY LIED and said it was sent back, even while I stood there where the tracking number that proved otherwise, which the "manager" refused to even look at. They said I hadn't received mail there since December. Somehow I was in there last week and got a letter, but when a package that might have any value shows up, it mysteriously disappears? And once they finally "found" my package, because I told them I was not leaving until I got my property, they told me they were going to charge me storage fees... for what?? Losing my mail, my paychecks, my drivers licenses and then LYING to my face because they were too lazy to look? I literally had to call the police in order to get them to give me back my property. They are a bunch of crooks, liars and thieves. I had a UPS mailbox for 20 years in LA and if a rent was due, or there was some kind of issue, somebody there had enough intelligence to contact the renter of the mailbox, and never once lost any of my packages or mail. I mistakenly thought this location would have a little more integrity. Clearly I was wrong.. Whatever you do, stay away from this abomination of a business. read more

This review isn't exactly about the store but it's targeting the UPS driver who never attempts to deliver my packages and as a result I need to go to the UPS access point to pick them up. I complained with an employee from this UPS location and all he said was "Yeah, some UPS drivers do that"... So? Can't you at least give me a phone number I can call to complain or at least say "I'm sorry about the inconvenience" since you're also an UPS employee? His attitude was more like "It's none of my business, just keep driving here to pick up your packages". I've experienced 2 similar issues for the past few days. In both cases tracking information says "Customer not in on 1st attempt. Delivery will be made to a UPS Access Point™ next business day for customer pickup." However, I work from home and I'm home 24x7 during weekdays so the UPS driver didn't even ring the bell. Even though the UPS access point isn't far from my house I need to drive to get there (and struggle to find parking - Hey, it's NYC!) because currently it's really cold (mid 20s) and the boxes tend to be heavy. I wouldn't recommend this store as a place to do your fingerprinting services. First they don't supervise you as you do your fingerprinting and let you roll your fingers by yourself until you figure it out while they talk to other people or do other services. When you ask help they just read the instructions and blame the customer for not knowing how to roll the fingers in their machine. I provided two identification card yet the person who entered my DOB had it mistaken it multiple times and seems pissed off. Horrible customer experience! Took me almost 30 minutes to get out of the store. I feel like I totally wasted my time and need to do my fingerprint again on another store. read more

Website allows you to make appointments for notary services on Saturday's. I got to the store for my appointment and the cashier informs us the notary doesn't come in on weekends. This is after I received a confirmation email for my appointment this morning. UPS needs to update website immediately. read more

Consistently frustrating experiences when coming here, I think I'll walk the extra block or two to go to FedEx next time. The store is run by a bunch of kids who are honestly not competent enough to carry out the duties of their jobs. Like when I need to print something via USB and they forget to plug it in and proceed to ask me if I've emailed it, while said USB sits on the counter. Oh! And they charged me for using the computer, which I wasn't able to because both were broken, so they had to do it. Or when I bring my amazon return in and they can't figure out how to print a receipt because they loaded the paper in backward, then it prints 4 times. Things like my above two examples are certainly annoying, but my favorite is when the apparent manager was standing right outside the entrance smoking and you ask him if he's in line and he points to his apron to show he works there...but his apron is inside out so how's a girl to know?!?! Perfect description for 2 stars - "Meh. I've experienced better." Not gonna lie, I thought about buying my own printer to never have such experiences again. read more

the ups store in astoria was a big help as i had two ship to packages to california and i had no time to go back to my manhattan office to ship it . the ups store employee did all the work and i just give him the info and both packages were labeled in less then 5 minutes .yes you will pay a little more shipping fees at the ups store but when its all said and done my packages arrived at each destination on time . good job ups store . read more

I've had to come here a few times during the pandemic to send my items back with stores being closed - something I used to hate to do since packages can get lost. That being said, every time I've gone I've had great experiences with both the customer service and speed! Not sure why this location has low ratings. Every associate I've had has been energetic, helpful and pleasant. I had to come mid May when things were still very strict and even after having to wait in line outside, I can't complain. They are doing their best in these uncertain and weird times and I appreciate them as a staple in the neighborhood. read more

Left my suitcase here for holding while traveling using BOUNCE dot com. And the employee--- I forgot his name but he says he works long shifts every Friday and has gelled back thick black hair and an earring and speaks Spanish --- he was SO KIND. Not only did he walk me through the steps of holding my luggage for a few hours before I had to get back to the airport, he was also able to give me recs on local breakfast foods in the Astoria area. This place is terrible. It will have the longest lines and workers take customers out of order. For instance, they will take someone they know that entered the store after you to help before you. I regularly come here and haven't achieved that status yet I guess. They do little to triage customer waits and offer lackluster customer service. Okay yes UPS's rarely have good reviews so I wanted to review this one. I mostly go to drop off or return Items and I've never had an issue with them. All the employees are good with wearing masks during COVID and they're very helpful and just want to get you in and out as soon as possible. The manager of the store, Robert, I think, is very helpful and knows what's what. I don't know what all the negative reviews are about but this store I've been pretty satisfied with. read more

I so rarely write reviews, but this place is consistently terrible. It's run by a team of seventeen year old kids, no joke, and there's no rhyme or reason to anything. Got a package? Nah, we're not going to look for it. Got told yesterday to come in today? Nope, try again. Oh wait, here it was all along, who knew? Incompetently run, clueless employees with no customer service ability just rudely doing a bad job to help customers. A line of 8 people, 2 guys working, one guy just standing there watching, can't use the printers "plug counter -in" whatever that's means, it's 2018, like seriously upgrade your systems. I went to this location on Steinway today as I've selected this site as the best place for me to return items to Amazon as needed. Unbeknownst to me, Amazon had selected my return store to be Kohls. Thank god for nice and caring employees, the young man working at the site today was so HELPFUL...and resolved my mailing/return issue immediately and I was able leave the store EXTREMELY SATISFIED. Again, I wish and hope that this employee is notified that he did a great job and for me, he went well beyond his services to help a senior person who is not a techie. I had a mail box with them for the past two years and they lost 2 of packages to my expense, they gave me multiple times other peoples packages home by mistake (which I returned of course, probably thats how my packages got lost), I've tried their passport picture service and the passport deparent denied them and last incident was that I paid my mail box in full a year a head and I had the inconvineince that I had to move out of the neighborhood and a month after making the full payment I've asked for at lease half my money back and waited for 3 months for an answer that its non refundable BS that is not notated on the contract paper.
