One item ships from this store for $21 Exactly the same item Same address, same speed ships for $17. from UPS store at 24-41, 31st street, also in Astoria, located within the premises of Staples. Be careful with the Indian/pakistani skinny employee. He is very rude. I greeted him politely and cheerfuly when it was my turn. He didn't greet me back and slammed my package in the weighing scale. Did not look at me once or talked then threw the receipt at me. I controlled my emotion like a professional but in the streets I would've handled it differently. The guy didn't know I was a champion kickboxer. I called back to report to the manager but he did not pass the phone. Management should retrain him. The only cool dude here is the Filipino dude, he greets you, very friendly and suggest the services that may further make your shipment easier. I am a customer here for 9 yrs, I used to have a mailbox here and the owners of this store are great. They made a mistake of hiring this particular employee. read more

We needed to ship large fragile item we purchased and send it across the country , they provided competitive packing and shipping quote , the statue was packed excellent and it arrived in one piece ahead of schedule even during holidays season. Wow, I am surprised at the poor reviews... My boyfriend had a vastly different experience. He just rented a mailbox there, and said Nazum and the rest of the staff were great... that they explained the process simply and quickly, and he was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Nazum even asked if he wanted to get an extra key for me (and I wasn't even there, so, quite nice). Apparently we can even get large packages delivered (like Ikea furniture), and they'll call us to let us know it's available for pickup. We got a 3 month plan to test it out, but if things go as well as they have thus far, I'm sure we'll be upgrading. read more

We payed $240 to ship a cabinet. They didn't packaged it properly and it arrived damaged. I highly recommend that you don't ship with them. I would suggest that you use Fed Ex . I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

UPS has been nothing but a headache since I moved to Astoria, with a veritable surplus of laziness and excuses. And this store is no different. The staff is exceptionally rude and unobliging, without a single smile or word of thanks to a customer. Not only was my package 10 days late (after paying for overnight shipping), not only did I wait around for it to be delivered to my apartment only to have them neglect to knock, and not only did I pay $11 extra to have it re-routed to the local store, but then... THEN! I had to pay $5 for the privilege of picking it up from them on the same day as it arrived? No. That's absurd. A small, 5lb package should not cost nearly $60 to get from point A to point B in a ten day period. But this review is far too tame, and doesn't represent the boiling contempt that I feel for all facets of UPS. From their abysmal customer service to their borderline hilarious inability to contact their drivers or other branches, it is taking all of my will power not to litter this review with a string of colorful expletives. Suffice it to say: STAY AWAY. Go down the street to FedEx instead and save yourself a world of trouble. read more

disinterested teenager processed my Amazon return. UPS tracking number showed that the package still wasn't processed after 3 days. Tried calling the local 718-204-7770 number which went to the main UPS number. The main UPS number said they couldn't do anything to help and to contact the store. I told them that when I called the store number I got the main UPS number. Seems this location can't handle a simple package return and good luck contacting them (emailed the store twice to find out what happened with the lost package, no response.) read more

I shipped a package today with UPS. The guy in the UPS store gave me the wrong information and said I did NOT need to include the commercial invoice even though I had it with me. He assured me it would be fine without as it's all digital. The package is now being held in customs and won't be released. As I run an online business shipping times are very important for our customers and for us. I've shipped internationally with USPS and had ZERO problems. I'll be avoiding UPS and this branch especially. read more

I wish i could give less than one star! To begin with, I had a package to be delivered, and as such, made myself available to work from home for the day. I walked out of my apartment for lunch to find a UPS InfoNotice stating that I was not home. Although I was home all day, my doorbell was never rang. Seeing this, I rang my doorbell to ensure it was working correctly, and sure enough it was! I found a UPS delivery man who instructed me to call the local dispatcher, and provided the phone number to do so. Upon speaking with the dispatcher, I was told to meet the UPS driver a few blocks away from my apartment. I promptly left my apartment to pick up my package. When I arrived at the agreed upon location, there was no UPS deliveryman to be found. I called the dispatcher once again, and was instructed that there was no possible way that the UPS deliveryman would return to my apartment to drop off the package. At no point did I receive an apology for not ringing the doorbell, or not meeting me at the agreed upon address. I called the global customer support line to discuss my issue, and I was told that the dispatcher's supervisor would call me to remedy the problem. I missed the callback from the supervisor because I was on a work conference call. I called back about an hour later to find that she had left for the day, and there was nothing else they could do. At no point did they acknowledge the fact that the deliveryman completely shrugged his responsibility to ring my doorbell or meet me at the agreed upon location. The customer service at this location is appalling, and they have no respect for their customers. Perhaps I am wrong by thinking UPS should have hopped in their truck to deliver my package (while only a couple of blocks from my apartment) after not ringing my doorbell, but also not meeting me at the address they told me to meet them. In my opinion, this office needs to be completely restaffed! read more

Review based solely on printing services! Your money is better spent elsewhere - go a few blocks further down to the FedEx store! Came in here to print some documents that I had saved on a USB drive and I was directed to a computer to print them out. After printing, I go up to the counter to pay and I get hit with a ridiculous charge for black and white pages. I ask the person at the desk why the price was so high and turns out I was charged for "computer time" as well as the printing. The computer time tier was for 10-30 minutes of use for a charge of 4 dollars and the total time I was on the computer was less than 2 minutes! Pretty ridiculous. The FedEx store takes your usb for you, asks what documents you need printed, prints them and charges you per page! Don't waste your money at this hot garbage excuse for a shop if you don't absolutely have to! read more

I just went to print 3 black and white pages/label copies to attach to 2 amazon box returns- I was charged .49 per copy plus 2.99 for them to take the one second to open it up- that's essentially almost $2 a black and white printout. I didnt even use their computer- I forwarded them the labels. GO ELSEWHERE. I was informed that this was a franchised UPS store and the owner sets the prices- he is over charging by nearly 5xs! I called the others In The area and they all charge much less- please go to the small one in Ditmars instead of this money hungry location. Even The ones in Manhattan only charge .25 and 1.00 to use their computers. The employees are extremely helpful and kind, and seem to realize this is price absurdity- be kind to them, but they need to work for someone who isnt trying to milk every customer. Shame on him. This is my first review. Not just on yelp, but on the internet for anything. Four days in a row i called this UPS store. Four days I provided tracking info, name, phone number, etc... And this was to the same person each time. I get it, the first time or two you may not remember someone calling. But four times? Not only that but each time they mispelled my name saying there was nothing there. Got that correct (four times) and gave them the tracking info, which they got wrong and proceeded to tell me I have nothing there. Asked them to read off the tracking numbers, which were incorrect of course, and finally they say they will "go check to see if anything is there" Mind you the first day I called they confirmed there were two packages there. I had asked previously what the fastest way to get those packages out were and was told they would call me back for card info and shipping options. Each day I was met with a "We're really busy, we'll call you back, just wait a while for a call back, etc etc etc..." Well the fourth time (after giving the same information again) the person gets their manager and I am told to call the general UPS line to get the packages out since they are so busy. No further explanation, no attempt at customer service, no sorry for the inconvenience (which is an empty but polite gesture at least) I will say I called the general UPS line and they had me settled in a few minutes which was great. Hopefully the UPS driver for this location (of which I've read horrible things on here) actually delivers the packages this time. read more

I ordered food; however the driver delivered the food to the access point. First of all; what kind of idiot driver leaves FOOD at an access point ?? No phone calls; nothing telling me it's there. I called and was told the package is there. I am working from home and I BEGGED for someone to bring me the package as I could not leave; and I was willing to wait until the store closed. The employee asked the manager if they could deliver my package; I'm 2 blocks away from the store. I was told "No; we're working". I begged again; was told no again. I then had to run to the store. I get there and observe the so called manager sitting on his behind listening to music on his phone. Meanwhile the two other employees were the one's doing the work. Now I know why he said no; he didn't want to get off his behind. It would have been understandable if they were ALL working but to see a line out the door and only 2 people working while the management is sitting on their behind. This was not my fault the driver took my food to the store and not deliver to my address. The vendor was clearly labeled on the box. Drivers need to use their brains and management needs to get off their behinds and work. read more

Surprised to see so many negative reviews of this store. UPS in general sucks sometimes but the employees at this store are always friendly and work their ass off. Meggan was so helpful today when signing up for a mailbox service after having multiple packages from my building stolen. As I waited to be helped, i let people go ahead of me, I watched multiple people come in to drop packages off, return merchandise, etc half of the people came unprepared, with no box or packaging, shipping label, expecting the employee to pack all their crap for them! ridiculous! if you're going to ship something come prepared! or do it yourself thats why materials are in the front of the store and be expected to pay for the packaging obviously! This employee, bless her heart was so patient with each of these unprepared customers and even remained friendly the entire time.. Also its 2018, print your stuff at work if it's that important, don't complain about having to pay to print something. I've never had a problem with this store. read more

Poor customer service. Zero accountability. They charge you a fee to accept USPS packages yet do nothing to check or confirm your USPS package is picked up. So guess what, your packages can go missing without a pickup scan and there is nothing corporate UPS can do about it and certainly nothing the franchise is willing to do to about it. Terrible. These people do not want to be here and the fact that they have yet to be fired says the same about the management. Rude. Uneducated about their company's basic practice. Unwillingness to locate the answers to the questions about UPS you have. If this is how they handle while sitting down, I'm sure you can only imagine how they handle packages when there is actual labor involved. And the drop-off's. Prepare to wait at your buildings from door for the three hour drop off windows like a child waiting at "safety". Somehow they are fast enough to where after I hear my buzzer with no reply of asking who is there, the truck is already turning the block after I walk down the stairs. BEST PART! I signed the info notice slip for UPS to leave my package, since I am home for drop offs but apparently not an olympic athlete to run to the door hick enough. The info slip was eye level with someone outside. Rather than being psyched about getting rid of the package, UPS filled out another missed delivery info notice and places it over my previously signed copy. Now that is just ridiculous. Use FedEx or send it to your office building. Don't eve think about using rush shipping since the purpose is ruined by the UPS delivery staff anyway. read more

An employee was very unclear explaining a policy when I called a few weeks ago -- he made it sound as if I would not be charged if I picked up my package from the store the day it arrived (the whole conversation was confusing). Had he been clear that there was a charge simply for accepting the package, I would have used FedEx, which, the last time I used them, did not charge for pickup in store. When I arrived to pick up the package, the manager insisted on charging me, and basically blamed me for his employee's mistake. He wouldn't even acknowledge that it was possible that the employee had made a mistake. In addition, no one at the store contacted me to let me know that my packages had arrived (I happened to check online): the manager made it very clear that there would have been additional charges for each day the packages sat in the store. In my experience with other companies, they notify you when your package has arrived. I'm glad I checked online -- it could have been expensive, apparently, if I hadn't. Bottom line, I won't be going back here. The FedEx a block and a half down the street has been fine, in my experience. read more

The location is a little out of the way for me, but I have had to go here twice in order to return items I purchased online that had the UPS shipping labels. I had pretty different experiences each time, but the second time is the reason for the 2 star review. The first time I went, I had to wait a little while on line but the guy was helpful and nice. The box was not taped and he didn't charge me anything to tape it up. The second time I went, I had to wait as the older man chatted with some of the UPS drivers. He was really unfriendly and charged me $1.08 just to tape up the box. There was no packing involved at all - just a little strip of tape. I realize it's only $1.08 but I hate horrible customer service and I hate feeling like someone is nickel and dimeing me. This was straight up an insult. The entire roll of tape probably cost less than $3 and they don't charge for tape anywhere else. Obviously this place is not much for customer service and I will never go back. read more
