After posting my negative review below, I got an appointment today to go in and talk to the store manager. In all fairness, I must say that he listened to my complaint calmly and with concern. When I showed him the receipt for what I had been charged and a photo of the wrong postage on the envelope, he had no explanation of how this could have happened. To his credit, he readily offered to refund my money. I readily accepted. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I doubt that one more complaint will change things at this store, but here goes... $18.64 for three first-class stamps?? What a rip-off!! The kid at the counter assured me my envelope would go USPS Priority Mail and arrive in three days. Even though the receipt said "first class letter" he insisted it was Priority. I asked for a tracking number and he said he couldn't provide one. But he again said it was Priority Mail. You're right, I shouldn't have believed him. Eight days later the envelope hadn't arrived in Pennsylvania. I went back to inquire (and yes, to complain.) Another kid looked at the receipt and assured me that my envelope went Priority because $18.64 is their rate for Priority envelopes. But of course there's no tracking number and no way to track a missing shipment. There's nothing he could (or would) do. On the ninth day the envelope arrived at its destination. It had three first-class stamps on it. Yep, just stamps pasted on. No metered postage. No Priority label. Just three lick-em-and stick-em "forever" stamps. Is this any way to run a business? Ok, they recently renovated this place, but there are still no price tags for the shipping supplies they are selling. One more star for the renovation b/c it looks a lot less ghetto now. Otherwise, my prior review stands. read more

The worst customer service ever. Avoid at all costs. Honestly I haven't been treated so rudely in a decade.

First off, DOG FRIENDLY! SUPER dog friendly! Treats! I can't imagine what any of those disgruntled reviewers are talking about. I have had a mailbox here for a year and a half and come in several times a week at all different times of the day and on different days of the week. Everyone has always been friendly, pleasant and helpful, whether I'm picking up mail or sending stuff out, from an envelope to a big box. There are usually other customers mailing packages- often of bizzarro sizes and shapes- or picking things up or copying- and I have never gotten any bad interaction vibes on either customer or staff sides. I haven't had the problem with them not being open during their stated hours, but my issues are a bit more costly. The service is pretty friendly and gets you in and out. The bad thing, which is really bad in my cash-strapped life, is that their prices are 2-3 times higher than you should be paying. I had a pretty light item in a cd-type mailer envelope that cost $16 as their cheapest option. I should have walked out and gone to the post office, where the same shipping would be about $5-8. I've been here a few times to give them multiple chances, but this last time sealed the deal. No more for me. read more

I needed a document notarized and since I work in the area I gave them a call to ask if there were specific times for a notary service. The man that answered the phone was very courteous and told me what I would need for the service. I went later that day and got my document notarized quickly and the man remembered me. The store was very neat and clean and there was ample parking on the street. They offered to mail my document. They were great! read more

Website says parcel post is one of the services they offer but turns out it is not. People working there seemed pretty indifferent to this issue. I was not, since I had hauled my packages there already and had lots of trouble finding parking in that area! I would have gone to the post office if I had known; I could have paid less and actually gotten friendlier service. read more

This UPS site and those working within have always been the nicest, most helpful group I've yet encountered in a UPS store. They are allays available to help out, choose the right boxes etc (if I don't have one). I always go to this place when I need to send a package via UPS. read more

I have been to this location multiple times. My business requires I get a receipt for each overnight drop-off. During this holiday season, they refuse to provide one here. Recently, I was here and needed to obtain a larger sized shipping envelope (UPS Pak) because the recipient required it. This is an item provided to everyone for FREE. These crooks tried to charge me a $1 per envelope. DON'T GO TO THIS LOCATION. You will be get better service at the Piedmont Ave or Montclair locations; and they are far and above more professional. Plus, you won't be charged with unnecessary charges that this location tries to do. read more

Wow, so many negative reviews I had to share my positive one about the manager and staff at this location. I've had a mailbox here for about 10 years and despite turnover, I'm always greeted pleasantly when I walk in even in busy times. I receive excellent service and I'm treated like a valued customer. In return, I try to be a patient customer when they're under pressure, especially during busy times. I've witnessed them working really hard to manage long lines and provide personalized service to everyone. Perhaps this is a case of the 20/5 rule of customer service -- people will share 20 negative experiences vs 5 awesome experiences. Whatever the case, it's convenient, they're awesome, and I enjoy doing business with this UPS store. read more

Absolutely useless service! Employees not familiar with own shipping products, cannot change online shipment details, or give you any useful advice on how to solve problems. Unprofessional staff & disorganized store. I dropped off two pre-paid packages which were stacked in corner without being scanned or receipt provided. I had to ask repeatedly to have them scanned so I could get a tracking number. A third package I paid for at the store, and was not given a tracking number because "they were too busy" to log it into the system. They assured me it would get scanned that day (Sat) and mailed the next day. I didn't receive any confirmation until Monday, and as of 9pm UPS says the package still hasn't shipped. read more

This happened yesterday: UPS clerk measures package, quotes price twice as high I calculated on UPS website. I objected, and it turns out that he added an extra inch to all his measurements. I hold the tape measure on the package to clearly demonstrate that it is 16" not 17"....snarky manager comes over and rather than apologizing for overcharging me by $20 actually has the gall to accuse me bending their $5 tape measure! The two clerks were extremely rude, and grudgingly shipped my package at the correct price. DON'T ship here, and if you do, know the dimensions of your package so they don't rip you off. read more

I first took my package to the UPS drop off location next to Cafe Colucci. The title of drop off is 100% literal. The amazing lack of help (finger waving while on the phone of drop off there in the corner w/no receipt and no tape for labels) may have primed this UPS store to do well in comparison. Nonetheless, these guys were friendly, intelligent and helpful. I went from confused and slightly annoyed to grateful & smiling. Thank you! read more

Rip off artists. I needed to mail a single house key and a 1 page letter. Mailing Friday for arrival Tuesday. The guy quoted me a price of $55. I almost fainted. I've mailed many things via UPS, Fed Ex, and USPS before (though never from this store), and I have a decent sense of what prices should be. When I caught my breath I asked him to double check and he said, yes, that was the price. I left. Went up the street to the US Post Office, and mailed the same item for $6.95, with same arrival date. I like to support UPS because I've heard good things about their labor practices. But this place needs to be audited by a regional office, because they are straight up ripping folks off. read more

beware of shipping packages here that you do not pay for with them such that they are responsible for your package. example you have a ups return label from a merchant and drop it off with them. it is not trackable until the package is received and scanned at the ups facility. this is not a ups facility this is a third party franchise and if you just leave your pre paid labeled package with them you risk losing that package which is what happened to me and cost me $180 in lost merchandise. read more

I was returning a computer I'd bought the week before in it's original shipping. They asked if I wanted insurance and I said yes. They then told me that UPS won't pay if the computer is damaged because I packed the computer instead of me paying them to pack it in new materials. They said that they would defend my case against UPS if UPS were to contest my claim, but UPS would probably dispute any claim. I took pictures of the box and said to go ahead and ship it. The clerk then wrote on my receipt "Packed by customer in used materials. Insured for loss only, not damage." I told him that what he wrote on the receipt is very different from what he just told me. He said he was required to put that there. A week later I had another computer to return, which I took to another shop. They gave me the insurance without any threats or voiding of my insurance on the receipt. These guys have the wrong attitude if they want to stay in business. read more

We shipped a time-sensitive package to Palo Alto for overnight delivery and paid $50 for the privilege. That was on a Thursday. We got an email saying the package wouldbe delivered on Friday, but the package was not delivered until the following Monday. On Friday, when the recipient notified me the package hadn't arrived, I called the UPS tracking service. The company (as opposed to local) guy on the phone said the package had been shipped by container and not scanned early enough to get on the delivery truck on Friday,and the Sunnyvale office was closed over the weekend so they couldn't recover the package until Monday. When I explained the situation to the local guy on Tuesday, after the package was delivered, I asked for a refund. They said they would credit our account for the full amount and call me when that was done. When no call came, we checked our bank account. The amount was credited on Friday. read more
