I have used this store routinely for shipping, Amazon returns, shredding, passport photos and Notary Services for many years and it has always been great - easy and friendly, even when it is busy the line moves fast, etc. I am prompted to write a review after a recent interaction regarding a UPS package that I needed to track (I failed to keep the receipt so I could track it myself) . Kiran Misra, the owner, looked up the tracking information and it indicated it had been delivered, however the receiver said they didn't get it. Then Kiran looked up the photo, and although the deliveryman had taken a terrible photo of his feet and the driveway, she suggested that my niece (the receiver) take look and see if she recognized the driveway. While I was doing that she went into their system and started a preliminary tracking request - throughout all of this she was helpful and friendly. Eventually, my niece figured out that her husband had put the package in the garage! I have come to expect friendly, reliable service at this UPS Store, but was truly impressed and greatly appreciate the way I was treated when a problem arose. The package contained a one-of-a-kind gift for my niece's new baby, it wasn't expensive, but I was tense and worried. Kiran's friendly, knowledgable and patient made me feel like I had an advocate in solving the problem - even though in the end, the problem wasn't UPS, but us! I swear... every time I come into this location it gets more and more depressing. Today when I came in the single employee behind the counter literally just looked at me and I gave him my package and the QR code to scan for an item to be shipped out. Not to be confused with an Amazon item that needs to be shipped out because they have a self service kiosk that they will yell at you over and over again even when you tell them it's not an Amazon return... it's just in an Amazon box... but the employee literally didn't say a single word to be but just give me a blank look on his face like he had something better to do... or probably go get high. He had a look in his eyes like it was my fault he was there... it's simple.. if you don't want to be in the customer service industry... get a new job!! We were shipping 2 packed cartons and two requiring packing to relatives in New York. They were art work and a 100+ year old antique mirror. The packaging for the mirror took over an hour but was very effective as the mirror, and the other items all arrived on time and undamaged! It is a long wait. She finished with the customer in front of me, then she spent 5 minutes taping up their boxes. She dropped the mailing tape 5-6 times. No skills. She then told me she would be right back, and went into the back for 3-4 more minutes. When she came out, it appears she had brought her young daughter with her to work. I've had a box here for the last 10 years. I love being able to get packages shipped here rather than having it dropped at my doorstep waiting to be pirated. Since this is my mailing address I don't have to worry about someone getting my address from my car registration and getting my garage door opener from my car. Amazon returns are easy, I can pick up my packages any time before 6:00 and my mail any time. I rarely have to wait too long to get my packages and it gives me a convenient base for shipping things back when I have to return them. The one negative thing I'd say is that a few years ago, it seems management has changed and they replaced all the employees. They are still friendly and efficient but they definitely don't seem as happy to be working there as the old staff. read more

HORRIBLE STAFF at this location. I don't take the time to write reviews ever but this is without a doubt the WORST UPS store I've ever been to. The employees here are extremely rude and without fail ALWAYS have an attitude. It's like they're mad that they have customers and have to do their job. This store is very close to my house so it would be the most convenient but I actually started driving 10 mins down El Camino to the UPS store by Target in Encinitas to avoid having to talk to the staff at this one. I've had a mailbox at a few different UPS stores over the years. This is the best UPS store and crew in my experience. The other day my son said that now that I've moved I should get a box at a location closer to home or work. I told him that I wouldn't leave because the people that work here are so great and really care and are helpful. He understood immediately and said, "Then you should stay." The kind of service that feels like a caring family is hard to find these days and I am happy to go out of my way for it. I also love that it's such a one-stop shop for so many things: mailing, getting packages, photocopies, notary services, and even recommendations for restaurants in the neighborhood. I needed to return an item to Amazon so I printed off a label at home and put the item in a box with the label and bar code on the package. I then drove the package to this UPS Store and waited in line to hand it to one of the store's employees. The employee took the package. I asked him if the package was good to go, and he said yes. It's now 4 days later and I have not heard back from Amazon that the package was received or that the return has been credited. I tried to check the status of my return using the UPS bar code that I had printed off and UPS says that the bar code does not exist. I just drove to the UPS store and described the situation to an employee at the store. The male employee gave me a very short and dismissive answer that they repackage these Amazon returns and that they do not keep track of the original label number that I had on the package. He said (quite sharply) that I should have asked them for the new label number. When I said I had no idea that they assigned a new label he said I should have asked. My question is - how am I supposed to know that they replace my bar code with a new bar code?! This policy is not posted anywhere. While I was there in the store I watched at least three other people drop off their packages and none of them got the new package bar codes - they have no idea that they can no longer track them! The employee was very rude to me - telling me to take it up with Amazon! How am I supposed to "take it up with Amazon" when Amazon doesn't have my tracking number any longer?? This is ridiculous. I have never seen a worse process or such horrible customer care in my entire life. I can only hope and pray that Amazon receives my package and that my account is credited. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THIS UPS STORE AGAIN AND I WILL LET ALL MY FRIENDS KNOW OF THIS INCIDENT. Absolutely incredulous. I only wish I could give them zero stars. read more

I use the UPS location often - mostly to return Amazon merchandise, but sometimes for personal shipping. There appears to have a recent change in ownership, and and not for the better. To be fair, most of the people working there are helpful, polite and have their act together. But a couple of them, a young woman and and older man, are surly, less than helpful and act and look like they'd rather be somewhere else. Bethany and the young African American gentleman at this location provide excellent service. If you're making a return, pre print your label or you'll have to email it then and they charge around $1 per page. For Amazon returns, make sure your code is on your phone ready to be scanned. Reception is awful and you'll have to step outside the store to retrieve it. Also recommend not parking directly in front of store . It's a nightmare getting out during busy times. I've been patronizing this location for over a year. The store manager has always been cold but, today she was outright obnoxious. As usual, the first thing out of her mouth was about the damn mask. Doesn't anyone say hi anymore? I politely reminded her of my exemption. She asked for proof and I again reminded her I don't legally need to show her my doctors note. Anyhow she tried to throw me out because I was " not caring about her customers". I refused. I am a customer and I will not be treated like a leper in my own neighborhood. I went into this location before they closed tonight to return some amazon items. Typically if there are employees in the store and it is not crowded they will offer to take the items and scan them for your return. That did not happen and I was spoken to rudely when asked about the self serve kiosk. While I was doing that myself since they did not help me the two employees continued a very inappropriate conversation that I would never want to be witness to from a professional standpoint. I came to pick up a package that they do not have even though the UPS tracking clearly shows it is at their store. Employees were very rude and could not answer even very simple questions, not willing to help in anyway. They should have assisted in locating the package. Please do not spend any money in the store and reward the owner. Use it only for dropping off items. I watched the owner who appears to be an Indian lady, bully And treat badly an older lady who was very sweet and just trying to fax something. It was unexcusable behavior. When my turn came with a different person I whispered somebody should report this to the owner. My person whispered back "she is the owner."
