The man working the counter had the worst body odor. I could smell his underarms from 20 ft away. I kept moving back from the counter and I had to pinch my nose. These pirates charged me $3, plus tax, for making a copy of a single one-sided, letter-size document. And only told me about the pricing AFTER they made the one copy. When I complained, they then told me that I could have had three copies for that $3, but after that the price would be a mere $.49 per copy. In CA where everything is more expensive, I am charged $.24 per copy at my local UPS store. It will be a very cold day in hell before I return to this store. read more

I brought in a package in a plastic mailing pouch which had been delivered to me by either UPS or USPS and was told that I could not ship it in the recycled plastic mailing pouch. I had to put the small package in a cardboard box which cost $5.00 - much bigger than the size the package needed. I changed this review from one star to four when the business was sold and I thought customer service was considerably better. However, now they have self serve machines to scan Amazon returns. This in itself is not my problem, my problem is how much the employees push you to use it. I was told after waiting in line and getting a non Amazon item shipped that I now had to get in the self serve line to process the Amazon return. I refused, and the young prince behind the counter had no choice but to take my Amazon return as well, but he was very put out about it, gesturing with wide eyes and a complete mug on his face...didn't I see how crowded the place was? Of course I did. I had already waited my turn long enough and it was exactly why I had no interest in getting in a second line! I had to bite my tongue not to say this to someone whom I saw as an entitled and spoiled child that it was about the customer and not him. (Business 101 here right? Also there a touch of misogyny which I FLAT OUT refused to accept from this adolescent boy.) Another time I walked in with a single Amazon return when the store was completely empty... the guy behind the counter actually looking thoroughly bored with his life, no real judgement there, but my point is that amazingly he still told me to do the self-serve thing. My response was OR you can do it. Meanwhile, the young prince and his sister were standing in the back area playing that hand slapping game where one person has to be quick and pull their hands away before the other slaps it. Clearly nothing going on in that place and yet I still get told to take care of myself. Yet another time I needed a pdf sewing pattern printed on large A0 paper and when I called, it was confirmed that yes they did offer printing services but were clueless about what I wanted done, so told me to email my inquiry, but heard nothing whatsoever back. I have to say I definitely had the sense by then that it was better to calI than to stand in that store watching them fumbling around. Instead I took my business elsewhere but felt frustrated at the sheer inconvenience that having anything to do with that place repeatedly seems to cause... I was actually happy to see a family business take over the place, but the amount of self-absorption I see when I walk into that place now is very offputting and I avoid the place when I can. I have seen the owner (father) there at a very busy time growling at the employees to take care of things better and faster, but clearly he's not there often enough to manage things. The UPS store by the "Shaws" shopping center in cohasset is a nice , better than nice - family run operation. The family is very helpful and - the "Dad" - ( Mr.Zadi) recently packed a VERY,VERY EXPENSIVE/ FRAMED antique map for us to get to San Mateo safely. Great job. Arrived perfect.!! The only thing going for this location, besides being the only location in the area, is DIY scanning. You can DIY and not have to interact with rude, stressful service from owner/agent/staff who run the place. UPS should review the franchise and train them in customer service. There have been several bad reviews. I posted one based on multiple visits. The owner/agent replied with BS about how hurt they were by the bad reviews and that I "misread" the situation (total gaslighting) instead of owning the problem. My review of poor customer service is backed up by others. They should own the problem and offer an apology to all their customers for the poor service. I use to come here all the time for Amazon returns. I have never been treated so poorly in my life! I was told to change the background of my phone ??? So that my return QR code would scan.... I asked if she could help me, she said figure it out. "It's not that hard" I adjusted my brightness, thinking that's what the woman meant. She rudely continue to tell me that that wasn't gonna make a difference. Change my background ! Mam! I can't change how I receive the email. 3 out of 4 items scanned and worked .... I asked can u scan a different way, or enter it manually. She replies "Change the background of the email from Amazon!!!! " She said over and over . Like I'm dumb! I asked for her guidance. She said I can't help u! I return packages here all the time , never have been talked to rudely or been told it was my problem. I went in to return two Amazon purchases one of which needed a single strip of tape on the top of them. Connie told me they don't provide a strip of tape to customers and that they were available for sale for four dollars a roll next to the register. She then suggested that my return labels from Amazon would not work despite having two of them in hand she was insistent that it would only produce one return label when scanning the 2 QR codes. I worked for UPS for a very long time and never experienced this level of bad service in any of the UPS stores I've audited ithroughout the US. As you can imagine my daughter was devastated as it had many personal belongings. The main issue was that I never had a worse customer service experience. I've never written a bad review for any business, but I've had numerous unpleasant experiences in the last few months at this Cohasset location. I've spoken with many others who've had the same problem. I'm not sure if there are new owners, but the customer service is horrible now and the employees are very rude. I use various UPS locations and find them easy to work with, but this location won't even place one piece of tape on your package. They make you buy a whole roll of tape before they'll take the package. That's just a small thing, but the attitude they give you is uncalled for. Just left the store. Not surprised that they have so many bad reviews. This ain't brain surgery folks! I came in with my own box & shippong lables for an Amazon return. The woman with the orange face tan charged me $1.00 to tape the label to the box. I offered to do it myself. She said no, we have to charge because we do this this all day. I paid the $1.00 it took her all of 1 second to drag the tape gun across the box. At this rate they are collecting $60 / a minute for services.Rediculous nickel & diming of customers. I think this UPS store must have been recently purchased by a new owner. The other owner was lovely. Today I struggled to carry two heavy boxes into the store and attempt to open the door. A man stood right next to me on the sidewalk outside and watched me without ever helping me by holding the door open. When we got inside he went straight to the back- talking to his employees -no mask. So he obviously wasn't afraid to hold the door for me because of of covid germs. Just a rude man. I can say that being in business for myself - and seeing the two reviews that dinged these guys.... here is a question... why should a business, provide labor and free tape? Goto the post office, they will make you buy an entire roll of it. I often throw in things for free - but I am ultimately the one who pays for it and one may want to think about this as I can guarantee you that this store is not making millions of dollars but covering their costs and perhaps a bit of a mediocre salary for the owner at best.
