I use UPS Stores all over the city and country for my business. I was treated dismissively by staff in a manner I've never experienced at any other store. Additionally, they (both the person at the desk and the "owner" whom the worker called) refused to complete packing and shipping work that they are contractually obligated to do through their Corporate Retail Solutions program. I guess they have too much business to take revenue from built in corporate sources. I will not be returning, and recommend you avoid if you need more than just pre-labeled drop off service. read more

This store is great. People tend to only write things when they are mad. I've dropped off 6 packages and had no problems. I needed to tape a box, and they didn't charge me for tape. It was a quick in and out. Also I was getting there at 7:02 and I called at 6:59 to see if they'd stay open a couple more minutes and they agreed to to help me out. read more

I am pretty intuitive with regards to the atmosphere of a business, overall efficiency, the attitude of the employees AND that of the customers. My experiences with the UPS Store on Greenville have been universally excellent as I find the staff friendly and very effective. If I drop off a package, I can count on it getting to it's destination without fail or damage and I have mailed well over a 100 as I have been patronizing this store on a weekly basis for nigh on 3 years. I read the low star reviews of other customers and their remarks about Carl whom I have personally gotten to know over the years and I just shake my damn head at the perceptions and remarks that emerge. While I am not discounting that some people have been treated in a manner they didn't like, I can't help but conclude that is because of the attitude they bring with them into the store. I think part of the problem is that this particular UPS store is at the edge of Park Cities and where all of the Beautiful People shop, which doesn't make them inherently bad customers or people, but I can sometimes smell the entitlement and lack of empathy from individuals who do not know how to establish rapport with customer service personnel. Typically the employees are very busy trying to get a pile of Amazon packages out while dealing with morons who bring in a lawn tractor with no shipping material or clue about how to form a durable packaging envelope and I have seen them take the time to custom make a box while the rest of us are waiting in line. Would you like to cut them a little slack, jack? Here's a tip - if you want good service, work with them on the premise that they are capable, worthwhile people. Even if someone appears to be a bit grumpy, don't take it personally - ask how their day has been. Chances are they just dealt with some nutcase (or several) and if you start in with an attitude, then you probably will just get back the unkind energy you put out. In all of my years of dealing with retail employees, I have found a small amount of kindness and being determined to have a positive interaction goes a long way and this approach has never failed. I am a highly educated professional in engineering so I don't have low standards, and this location is my preferred place to ship because I genuinely trust and like the employees with no negative experiences in my recollection. Carl is actually my favorite employee because I value his authenticity and uniqueness as a person who has a job I do not envy. Unfortunately, most people don't take the time to write about positive experiences with a shipping center as it is such a brief interaction that it is barely thought about UNLESS the verdict is negative, so that will tend to slant the reviews towards 1 star. When I observe the staff deal with others in line, I have never heard a discouraging word. Every day dozens of people come in and drop off their package with no issues, but don't take the time to write a positive review. I hope corporate is reading this, along with others who might want to reconsider their emotional IQ. The people here are good, you just have to look past your own ego to see it. read more

They don't care that they have lost a very special package going to my granddaughter and now that it's been delivered to the wrong address they could care less. I got second hand smoke from walking into this establishment. Luckily what I needed was quick and painless.

I dropped off a package on 12/21/11 that was ready to be shipped (textbook with a prepaid label already on the box). The guy working behind the counter was busy and asked me to leave the package on the counter if it was ready to be shipped, and I did as he said. I received an e-mail from my textbook company that UPS notified them on 12/27/11 that my package had just been dropped off at the UPS store to be returned and was now late. Wow. I know they were closed two days for the holiday but it took 4 days to input the package I left into the system? Now I remember why I use USPS or FedEx. read more

Do not use this UPS Store. They won't allow you to use your UPS account number and they charged me $10 more per package than if I'd taken it to a UPS service center. The UPS stores are franchised so it's up to the owner's discretion whether they will allow you to use your UPS account number and charge you more money to ship your packages. And big UPS doesn't care and was unhelpful when I called to complain. read more

Of only I had read these reviews before going there. I had purchased three Groupons some time ago and they had expired. With Groupon you are always supposed to get the value of what you paid. I came in with three packages to ship and told the employees I had the expired Groupon. He called the owner and he absolutely refused to honor it even though it clearly said it NEVER expires. Worst UPS store in the country !!!!! This is the 3rd time I've tried to use this store. Each time, it smells worse than the last time, like they're constantly eating submarine sandwiches, then leave them in the trash for weeks. Combined with stale cigarette butts sitting in coke cans, you can't get the smell out of your clothes. Employees clothes smell like they haven't washed them in weeks. Employees bark out, one word commands, and when you say excuse me, they roll their eyes and mumble something else. I had to walk out and go to another location. I don't know what any of these people are talking about. Looks to me like with the exception of Matt that non of these people know what running a UPS store is like. First off these store are affiliated with UPS Corporate. They are NOT UPS Corporate stores. These are indeed individually franchised by private company owners. Next thing is they do not own UPS trucks. These locations do not deliver your package. The UPS Store is not responsible for damages that occur once the Corporate UPS Driver picks up the package. After it leaves the store any damages are responsibility of UPS Corporate not the franchised store. That being said, They are the shipper and are responsible for getting all the information about the item and submitting the investigation on behalf of UPS Corporate. The claims are actually sent to a third party called Crawford. If your claim is denied by a Crawford claims specialist due to improper packing. Then the store employee handling your claim gets all the grief because they have to tell you that you were denied. Lets get one thing straight these employees are trying to help you. I understand that some of these guys might be having a bad day or maybe its possible, and this does happen that a customer comes in with a bad attitude trying to pick a fight. I have several friends who work at these places and I can guarantee you that they are more efficient then any one USPS employee. This stores in general get customers that come from FedEx because they were treated wrong with employees that have bad attitudes in general. People have to realize that the world isn't perfect and everyone has on/off day. If you think your the most model employee at your company I can guarantee you there are 10 people under you that think your an ass. It's just the way people are. Funny though you never see the reviews of the 1000's of people per year that leave this store happy as can be. Nope because the only people who need to write a review are the one who are pining because they think they were that one special person who got screwed over. Not true. Like everything else in life shipping is just statistics. Not one company on this planet has a perfect record due to the high volume. The more items you deal with the higher the statistics are that someone is going to get a bad deal, and that my friends is just statistics for you. Terrible location. I stopped using them as my business mailing address about six months into a year contract. Lost mail, open packages, rude employees on more than one occasion. It wasn't worth the stress of wondering if I was going receive my mail and/or packages in any given week. Called UPS helpline to see if I could transfer to another location or get out of my contract. No response. My advice would be to try a different location or get a PO Box. read more

Went there to drop off my uverse equipment. That process was decent. However, the guy behind the counter was on his personal cell phone for the first half of our interaction talking about a party and drinking patron. He made no effort to try to rush the call at all. So I just awkwardly stand at the counter until he points to the scale for me to put my equipment on, still on the phone, still talking about turning up. Went there again and Carl (older black gentleman) was sagging his pants (sweatpants at that) with his underwear showing. They never help you carry packages or get the door for you, the entire transaction is done without a greeting or any eye contact, and the young Hispanic girl is nice but always has to comment on everything I'm shipping in a nosy, judgmental way. Been a loyal customer for over 5 years. I email them my stuff to print out and it's always ready when I arrive -- even when I have to flake out and cancel an order, they've never charged me. Today, they were outstanding. I needed to return a few things to Amazon and was totally confused about boxes, labels, and what went where and to whom -- by the time I got there, they already had my labels printed and ready to go. The staff member organized my boxes all into one box with the free UPS shipping label and saved me about $10 bucks! Lol! I walked out of the store having only paid .35¢. This store has always been kind and funny and patient and knowledgable; like my own little secret Kinko's. I could not recommend them more. read more

It is sad and quite apparent that the manager(s) and the staff simply don't give a crap about doing their jobs. They have misplaced my packages more than once and put at least two of my things with someone else's mailbox.
