I wondered why this store had such poor reviews....well they definitely lived up to all the poor comments. No help whatsoever with Amazon returns. The staff made it evidently clear that Amazon was owned by Whole Foods and that is the preferred point of return for UPS. I know UPS is somehow being compensated so you could at least offer some help. The only time I was given direction is when I did something wrong. Told by the lazy girl "working"... "that goes in the green bend and this goes on this dolly" How in the hell am I supposed to know this?? But she was sure to let me know what time they closed and I was approaching that time. I scheduled a notary appointment online at UPS two weeks in advance and received confirmation and a UPS generated reminder the morning of. I arrive and am told no one is there who can provide notary services and their person who is certified may 'have slept in' and wasn't there. Unprofessional and truly disappointing. read more

The UPS Store #5486 in Dripping Springs is the worse place I have ever been to, I find that there's 100% employment turnovers which is a reason for such terrible service. No one shows any knowledge of the same training, so this is why there are many many and I mean many customers having delivery issues with packages. The Dripping Springs UPS and Belterra UPS are owned by the same owner, so I feel the owner needs training, so they can run a better UPS store. read more

The one woman that's always working here is so beyond rude and short every time I come here. My husband and mom experienced the same. In fact once she closed and locked the doors (5 minutes before actual closing) as my husband was walking up with a large heavy package and she laughed as she locked the doors on him. My mother's experience at this Ups was very unpleasant. She came in with a heavy box to deliver, she went to the front desk for advice since this was her first time going there and after weighing it the employee directed her to a stationary scanner. This meant that my mother would have to hold the box for several scanning attempts which would be bad for her back. When my mother expressed concern over this, the employee responded with : "if everyone can do it, so can you." So since the employee was no help and rude like hell, my mother had to hold that heavy box to scan it and lo and behold, her back was hurting for the rest of the afternoon. I've been going to this UPS store for several years and your experience really depends on who's behind the counter. Which seems to change quite a bit. I've had good experiences with helpful people but my experience with the crazy woman who was behind the counter today (1/31/24) was just the outside of enough. Apparently they have a NEW set up to handle Amazon returns. And I can imagine it's frustrating to have to tell every customer to go over to the "kiosk" (that looks nothing like a kiosk). It must be relatively new, so of course most people have no idea what to do once they get there. It was pretty unprofessional at the get-go for counter-lady to be so short with people and to show exasperation over their understandable confusion. Apparently, I further annoyed her by asking what to do if you had sent over a couple of labels to be printed. (The last person I dealt with told me to send things that needed to be printed in advance.) But when I said I sent it yesterday, this woman fussed at me and said I'd have to send them again. Okaaaay... Thank goodness they had an employee helping people with their new kiosk process. They've basically made a big function they offer SELF-SERVE, like every other business. I'm not a fan, but that's another issue. When I got to the packages that needed labels, I was told by counter-lady I would need to send the email with the files yet again. The man helping at the kiosk pointed out that it might not have come through yet, to give it a minute, and sure enough it popped up. Counter lady must not have read the instructions, which was to make one print of each file. She just printed off the email and I ended up with 3" mailing labels in mice type?! WTH? I've done this before. This is not normal! But when I said something about the tiny labels, I got a big huff response that it was not her fault, she just printed the email. At this point her attitude said I could take the print and use it or shove it. Oh my goodness... are you kidding me? At this point I basically said I'm not used to such bad customer service and was not inclined to return. Miss UNcongeniality actually said, "Good! You've been a pain in the ass since you walked in the door!" Her reaction was so unprofessional and over the top, I just had to laugh. Seriously, it was funny to see someone in a professional place of business act as unhinged as this women suddenly became. It was apparent she was not just having a BAD day, she was having mental issues. Kiosk helper jumped in again and taped the labels to the boxes. I don't think they covered the previous labels, so God only knows if they'll reach their destination. But at least I got a receipt. This is a UPS store?!? The cherry on top of this crazy experience happened as my friend and I were leaving. I decided to go back and ask for her name. She refused to give it - which wasn't surprising. I didn't argue, I just got out my phone to take her photo. At which point she RAN to the back yelling she was gonna call the police. About what, I'm not sure... LOL! It was so crazy, my friend and I just looked at each other and laughed. Good grief, you unhinged drama queen, you should really get help and stay out of Customer Service! You suck at it. And next time Amazon asks me if I want to use Whole Foods or UPS, I'll say Whole Foods! read more

New layout and upgraded tools has helped tremendously on automating much of the routine activities without the need to wait for an attendant. Excellent progress. Of course, the parking lot is still a challenge, but I realize that cannot be solved by UPS unless a different location is selected. read more

I called to get a price to rent a small mailbox for my new business. They quoted me $140/ 3 months. I asked her to repeat it to make sure I heard her correctly, and she repeated the same amount. When I asked if she was sure since it was so much more expensive than other UPS locations (for instance, my old one in Austin was $66/ 3 months), she hung up on me. read more

Oddly, they'll ask you specifically what you're sending. Watch out for that. I was told they're not suppose to and instead ask questions like USPS does: lithium batteries, perishables, fragile, liquids. The prices are high too. Slowest post for a 5x7 bubbled envelope was $4 and change whereas USPS charges $2 and change plus tracking. When I was asked by a new employee what was in my box, the manager immediately jumped in as if she was going to take over when I was asked. According to some employees, they don't ask and some say they're supposed to. Edit: They randomly close early. Online and in their window is says they close at 6:30. I pull up and see they've closed up. I pull away and see a shaggy employee walk out, look around, and leave. I'm not so sure he was supposed to do this but it is what it is. read more

She quoted me $140 for 9-pound large package, and when I said I'll have to take it to the post office, she said it wouldn't be any cheaper because there's a rail strike. I just mailed it at the P.O. for $40, to arrive in 3 days. Another visit to my local UPS store and just like last time the end result left me blown away. Count two different reasons for this visit. So I went in this morning to mail a painting, a DVD home theater in a box, and a tin Chevy sign. I could have went to the post office; but then I would have been responsible for my own packaging. The painting was roughly 3 x 4 sporting a colorful red rooster. The DVD HTIB I actually won the night before at the orange box Christmas party. The Chevy sign we picked up in Fredericksburg during our July 4th weekend. The staff which was oversized thanks to the holidays was friendly and helpful. They were packaging everything with the forthcoming total reflecting said charge. So we got a painting that cost $40, a $120 home theater in a box, and a $10 tin sign. The packaging and shipping totaled a whopping $210. That was more than the actual value of the merchandise! I slid the check card reluctantly thinking damn; well its Christmas. Holy crap thats alot of cash. About 50 minutes after my departure I got a phone call from the owner asking me come back and renegotiate the charges. I ended up with a $66 refund on the card. They found some way to package the painting and save the family some money. Huge star reward here; they could have just taken the money and ran all the way to the bank. The grandparents in Colorado got our packages today 4 days after we shipped them in tiny Ol' Drippin Springs, Texas. Excitement filled the air except they asked when I was flying to Denver to hook up the new toy. Read the instructions and then I'll drive to the airport if I must. The folks at the local UPS store did a great job even if it still cost me an arm and a ham to send the gifts. Bravo with a proper endorsement from Ol' Rooster. read more

It is great to have a UPS store in the Drip. I've always found them to be friendly and quick, with rarely a wait for service. I did try them for copies but found FedEx/Kinkos on Brodie to be of higher quality. However, you can directly email the UPS store your material and they'll quickly get it printed. If you don't have time to drive all the way into Austin, this is definitely a good option. read more
