I don't recommend using the passport photo service at this location. I got my passport photos here and they were not only unable to provide me with a digital photo that was acceptable to the online renewal service, but they eventually refused to respond to my requests for an acceptable photo. And that was the manager. The photos they sent were not the correct size and both of the employees I dealt with did not know how to resize them correctly. This store seems to do a good job on everything except the digital photos. You pay your money you take your chances. read more

This UPS Store is conveniently located near the Douglas County Community Center, of which Gayle and I are at their gym often. So on the way home, its easy to get a package returned, make some copies, and print out a file. Parking is fairly easy and we're usually in and out relatively quickly. Staff service has been friendly and efficient. This place is good value for the money. read more

In response the The UPS Store's comment on my review, dated Jul 16, 2025. Thank you for getting back to me. I appreciate your concern that my experience wasn't the norm, but I've found this wasn't an isolated issue. Such that I felt the need to print Amazon's instructions to present to the clerk in support of my position and to avoid being steered toward unnecessary services. I don't find the Amazon return options at all confusing. For my recent Amazon return, the box I used was a sturdy shipping box--the kind originally used to ship a countertop kitchen appliance from the manufacturer's warehouse. It bore brand graphics and their logo on the outside, (not unlike an Amazon box) but it was not a consumer-display box (like a shoe box). And it was certainly able to withstand the riggers of shipping a return of lightweight disposable diapers. The staff member's assumption that it couldn't be a shipping box due to branding seems to be a misinterpretation of the Amazon return policy. I've rechecked with Amazon customer service, and they confirmed that often a box is not required, but when a box is required for returns Amazon does not assume we saved the shipping box to use for the return nor do they stipulate any particular kind of box, but simply state, "any box." Attached is a screenshot of my latest chat with Amazon Customer Service concerning this issue. I'm hoping that this serves to make us all more aware of Amazon's policy for repackaging returns. I own Sonnys trump store in Gardnerville. I do all my business here at this store. Everyone is so nice here and helpful. I will be buying new business banners here next. This is the place to go to send or receive packages. I sell all my trump hats for $10 and have them send my orders to customers. so easy and helpful. Very openly rude older employees. Handicapped, dk haired gal said didnt have time to help pkgs into car from dolly. She expected cripple to use dolly w pkgs so could help friend in line behind who she already loaded sole hand cart full of saids pkgs. Customer offered to help so she toon extra 2mins to help me. I love this UPS store location. Each time I've come in, their customer service is top notch... always! Even if there is a long line like there was before Christmas, it didn't take more than 15 minutes to get to the front. Normally they get my boxes within 2 days to my locations. Their prices are based on location, weight and size of box. I've been surprised on how low some have been yet other times sticker shocked. This is not a reflection of them since they are not personally responsible for the pricing. Again, whoever trains their employees and stresses the customer service aspect is doing a great job. Ryan was super helpful today! I went in early this morning to get some stuff printed. I ran into issues as the documents were not sending on my end. Ryan was very patient and helpful while I worked through the issues. I ended up having to leave because my phone wouldn't send the docs (my service in this part of town is always bad). I returned a few hours later and they were very busy but the entire staff was hard at work getting people through quickly. Thankfully my emails went through and Ryan was ready to help me get those printed and get me on my way. read more

I have needed to use their services 7 or 8 times over the past year. Yesterday I needed to return a modem to Spectrum. Some helped open the door when they saw my package. There was a very short wait and then a pleasant lady took over, threw away the Spectrum box, read the bar code on the modem and repackaged everything. She spent a couple of extra minutes telling me to be sure to keep that receipt; Spectrum has been known to deny items were returned and keep charging their customer. Every visit I have made to this UPS location has been a pleasure. The people are invariably pleasant, efficient, and helpful. Customer service at its best! read more

I had a negative interaction at the UPS store on hwy 395, today. I opened the door and asked if they do returns for Amazon. The lady said no dogs allowed. I said yes or no to my question. The lady responded with put your dog in the car. Another female associate made I contact and then answered yes. I took my dog to the truck, came back in did two transactions with a nice girl who understood customer service. While checking out the initial lady came out with a unkind look on her face after making eye contact, she quickly turned so I could not see her name tag. I will share I drive to small towns to give the mom and pop places business. The economy is beginning to fail so important to help them. I can attest how the lady treated me with the negative conduct, impacts your business and I hope you rectify the conduct. Your better than that and Gardnerville deserves good service. read more

Really good staff and service! I had a difficult issue with some paperwork and the notaries handled it for me.

I got there a minute after closing, but I could see the representative helping someone inside so I knocked on the door. I had my box and the prepaid label already on it, it was the last day to return a very expensive item. I know she saw me, but she continued to ignore me. When the guy that she was helping left, I asked if they could take my item and they refused because "they closed their system" well, had they let me in when I knocked, that wouldn't have been an issue. I understand that I was late, but where's your customer service or empathy? I'm now out over $100 because I couldn't make my return deadline. I hope it was worth it to you. Helping 1 more customer really would have been impossible I guess. read more

I went to the UPS store to ship a package back to amazon, i spoke to Nicole (manager), she refused to ship my package and gave me a hard time, Very rude and unprofessional. after arguing with me (Customer) i had to use the self service kiosk to print a label and a receipt.Gave her the package , I have seen her do the same thing to others that have language barriers . I live in South Lake Tahoe, CA and even though there are two UPS stores closer to me, this review will only enter in a Nevada location, Gardnerville. There are two UPS sites a loading facility about 4 miles away and a store location that is 5 miles away. My simple complaint is that the driver who services Fairway Ave, South Lake Tahoe is LAZY, I am retired and at the home all day. The driver came to my home and did not ring the bell or knock on my door ( I have a knocker). In this world of technology, we can't even do common sense behavior. I waited all day for this person to leave a slip and not do his job. My home is large and he did not do his job to reach me, only leaving a slip for a delivery tomorrow. By the way this is a very expensive medicine that is temperature controlled. I was disappointed the local business have no phone contact. I was disappointed that the customer service rep that took my complaint was not able to send an email of my complaint or text it to me as it is POLICY OF UPS CORPORTATION. So a company that takes my email and phone will not utilize this for complaints. Kind of one sided relationship. read more

About 4 mos ago my 89 year old, hearing impaired, legally blind mother used this outfit to send a small parcel of baby items to my expectant cousin in Germany. The total value of which was less than HALF the cost of the shipping! The male clerk mis entered the address, leaving out the 1 in the unit #19. My mom didn't catch it on the screen because of her macular degeneration, assumed the kid was adept at his job, and the misdirected package was never delivered, returned to us, FOUR months later, completely smashed and torn. I confronted the staff member about paying 45.00 for NOTHING (DUDE, you had ONE JOB!) and he asked if we were interested in sending it again!! Lisa then interrupted to tell us we should contact UPS directly. Why would I contact UPS when they sent the package US Mail??? They collectively refused to accept any accountability, implied it was ENTIRELY our fault and didn't offer even the smallest bit of contrition or compensation. Just the day before we paid them 54.00 to ship a large but very light package to California....and other items in the past. But after telling them they lived down to my low expectations with their lack of accountability, I don't imagine I'll return. read more

UPDATE The manager called during my work hours to try and re explain the process of UPS.(which UPS website states 5 days for claim to be processed and I am working on 5 weeks). I have dealt with Fed Ex, USPS refunds for lost packages and never had such poor communication or customer service prowess. You do not take up a customers time at work to prove that you are correct. Also, I stated 5 weeks ago to the employee that the delivery location was a guarded appt complex and all express mail is left at the front counter. The comment "person was not there" is absolutely incorrect. So I have to re explain to the manager something I already explained 5 weeks ago. I have an email from April 1 stating I would be receiving a refund. 10 days later, still no response and no one had followed up. If you are a store and the customer cannot follow up with UPS, you must be following up and following through. This store would rather blame the customer instead of following through on promises. The $$ should be refunded if UPS is stating the claim has been processed and a check is on the way. UPS store should refund and then collect from UPS, since I am unable to follow up. So simple. - BEWARE - If UPS doesn't deliver your next day air letter that you paid almost a $100 for, they will make excuses, not answer emails in a timely manner and it has been 5 weeks of emailing constantly and I still don't have a refund check. They will make constant excuses and only reply back when it suits them. The staff working the counter is great but whomever the manager is for handling lost / not delivered refunds is horrible. Bad management skills for problem solving at this UPS. I have never had this experience at any other UPS store, and I am in shipping for a living. They should have cut me a check and awaiting the refund from UPS to their store. So disappointed that our small town UPS is so poorly managed. I have reached out to UPS corporate to report the store. I really cannot say enough good things about this business. It is in a convenient location, they have plenty of parking, and most importantly - the staff is friendly, fast, and competent. It was moderately busy when I went in a few days after Christmas to complete an Amazon return. I was acknowledged immediately upon entering, and then 2 additional times within 30 seconds. The staff was busy serving other customers, but very professional, pleasant, and attentive. The business was clean and tidy, and they were dressed professionally. I am pretty sure it is family owned and family run. If so, I hope they will open more outlets and run them with the same level of excellence and friendliness. It was really a breath of fresh air. I have been to other UPS locations where it felt like the people helping me were supremely inconvenienced and mildly annoyed. This was a totally different experience. P.S.
