I went in there to drop off some rented textbooks and was really surprised at how rudely I was treated. I asked what seemed like the manager if I could leave my package somewhere and he told me no because there was someone else in front of me. Keep in mind, that the store only had maybe three people inside and the person that he was helping had just left to use the copiers. He then stated that I could leave it on the counter and I told him I needed proof that I shipped it . I asked him if I could just leave it on the counter, and he had the nerve to say "that is what I just said, you can just leave it ". At that point I really just wanted to grab my package and leave, but I stayed in line and someone else helped me. Having worked retail my entire adult life, I always try to treat other people with respect when I enter an establishment. I did nothing to be treated so rudely and I will not be giving this store my business again, and I encourage you not to either. First off, I was to start by saying that I've gone to this location multiple times and I've never had an issue. Their service, however, was never outstanding enough for me to leave a positive review. Yesterday I stopped by here to ship a package which contained items I wanted returned to the company it was bought from. Therefore, the company itself provided me with a return label when I originally received the items. I did as instructed by putting that specific label on the package. Usually when I do this and take it to this location and they take it from there. I informed David, the representative helping me, that I wanted a tracking # and he went on to print the label. He then pointed to an address on the label, which was MY address, and said is this address correct? I said yes. I received a receipt and left. The next day, I get the package which I thought I was returning back in my mailbox. Confused, I went back to this location and informed them of what had happened. David was once again there and walked over to see the package after I explained what had happened and said "Oh, I didn't even see that" and then walked away. I was the only person at the store at this point. The other representative proceeded to make a CORRECT shipping label but once finished he stopped and let me know he had to ask David where to go from there. Another customer had walked in, David was helping them so I waited. Then David proceeded to tell me because I had signed a paper (with tiny lettering, of course) saying I verified the addressed so there was nothing they could do. I went on to say that I felt it was not fair since he had admitted to his mistake prior to that and he never said I was verifying the SHIPPING address when he had asked me to verify the day prior. He simply just said address. He tried to seem understanding after I told him that was not okay he then said "I can give you 5% off but that's it." FIVE! I laughed and continued to tell him that it was still not fair because I was still paying close to full price for a mistake that could have been prevented if he would have just read the shipping label CORRECTLY! Because he obviously admitted to reading it wrong. I've worked customer service and I know that there is always more an employee can do. ESPECIALLY when you ADMIT you had fault in the mistake at hand too! Don't you feel bad for taking someone's hard earned money for YOUR mistakes? I told them I was not expecting a free label but that $0.46 was not a reasonable discount for a mutual mistake? At this point there was a line forming and I decided to just go ahead and pay the price because it was not the other customer's fault this had happened and why mess up someone else's day just because mine was ruined? THEN, as if things weren't bad enough the other representative proceeded to charge me MORE than what I had paid the day prior. I originally paid $9.28 and they were trying to charge me $10.69 the second time. I pointed out their mistake once more and they fixed it but I was still not satisfied because I felt they were giving me a hard time because I was pointing out THEIR mistakes. I find this so unprofessional, not to mention the # David gave me was the wrong one for the issue at hand. The RIGHT NUMBER for their corporate office is 1800-789-4623 NOT the BS # they want to give you to save them from not being responsible for their mistakes and unhappy customers. Very displeased. Dropped off a package to send to Amazon. I thought it would take 2-3 days but it's been a week now. And Amazon still has not received my item. I check the tracking number for the package and I don't know if it's not being updated or it hasn't even shipped yet. The tracking tells me it hasn't even been shipped off yet! I'm must say, the staff and ownership of this UPS store on Eldridge continue to emphasize excellent customer service. To a person, everyone is extremely helpful, courteous and patient while explaining both their mailing options and reproduction service options, which can be somewhat complicated. They really insist that their customers leave extremely happy, and they go the extra mile to ensure this is the case. I trust no one else. I would give this location 0 stars if it was possible. I went to send off a birthday present for my best friend last Tuesday. Naina was the person behind the register. I chose two day shipping with insurance to make sure it arrived before her actual birthday. Naina proceeded to ask me what was in my package. I found this odd because normally I'm asked if there are flammable or hazardous materials inside, not what the actual contents are. Weary, I told her it was a purse and wallet, stressing again it was a gift. (I didn't want to lie just in case the package somehow got lost during transit and a receipt was needed for insurance purposes. I did not tell her what brand, even though it was Tory Burch.) I want to add that I wrapped the purse and wallet inside a Converse shoe box with tons of tissue paper, secured it with clear packing tape, and placed that shoe box inside a basic brown box. Well guess what happened? My friend received the package on time...... but the damn box was EMPTY!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it! My best friend immediately took the empty box back to her local UPS store and they said someone untaped the official UPS tape off the bottom of the box and damaged the converse shoe box inside to pull the contents out. They also weighed the package and it was only 2lbs. The package weighed over 4lbs when I paid for postage. I filed a complaint with the UPS corporate office and tried to call this store numerous times with no success. I plan on going up to the store this Monday to let them know I don't plan on letting this theft go lightly. It's wrong on so many levels, so please beware of this store and of Naina!!!! AWFUL SERVICE!! Can I give 0 stars?? The young Chinese/Korean guy we had absolutely no problem with, he was friendly and helpful. The Indian lady who seemed to be the owner was entirely rude, condescending and tried to rip me off by telling me the way we packed our bikes with two boxes interlaced on top of one another with plenty of packing tape were going to not even arrive at Amazon's return center because of the way it was packed "wonky" and may get "lost". She kept pointing to the holes where we didn't put tape and so we put even more tape that we had brought from home knowing that we might need it because these places love to charge extra for a few inches of tape. My husband and I packed it ourselves using Amazon's prepaid return label because I used to work at a postal place and knew how to pack oversized packages that didn't have a large enough box to fit. She said she would provide their boxes which are better to ship a bike in and charge me $50-$60 for the boxes and having them take apart our box. I said no thanks that the bikes were defective items and I didn't care if they were damaged in transit and that I'd just like to drop it off. She kept insisting that she could "guarantee that it wasn't going to make it to Amazon" in her own words and I kept insisting I didn't care and that I just wanted to drop it off. I also said I'd return with the second bike because we have a small car and could only fit one box at a time. That was a whole 20 minute ordeal. She said okay that it was fine and accepted the first box. We came back to about 5 other customers there and we waited patiently to be helped. She was helping a customer in front of us and stopped all of a sudden and started complaining that when they moved the first box to the back of the store it was so "wonky she didn't want to accept the second package and could make no guarantees if it was lost". I said I don't care if it gets lost, I can go to another store and drop it off there where they would accept it. At this point she was still helping the customer in front of us and kept pausing to nag at us and say we packed the boxes wrong and kept trying to demonstrate how to pack the boxes properly all in the middle of the customer she was still supposed to be helping and told us to wait until she was done. Mind you, we were just waiting in line patiently when she was the one who started engaging us first and telling us that our 2nd package cannot be sent as is and that she wouldn't accept it. She said our boxes need to fit one on top of the other and the flaps have to be inside. I personally showed her by tapping the flaps that they were properly taped inside the other box. I was annoyed. My husband at this point was very frustrated and I guess it scared her because she then quickly said, okay fine we'll accept it but we don't guarantee anything. All the other customers were kind of looking because she was making a whole scene of the entire situation. We never once raised our voices and calmly spoke with her. She, however, was very rude and insistent the entire time. I've tracked our packages to make sure they reached Amazon's return center and, magically, THEY ARRIVED AND WE GOT OUR REFUNDS!!! WOW, WHAT A CONCEPT!!!! Sarcasm intended. I knew our packages would get there regardless of how unwell she thought we had already packed it. We were sending back defective items so they were garbage to Amazon anyway. Don't know why she was insistent we didn't pack it well and saying our boxes would be ripped apart easily but my guess is she wanted to instill fear in our packages being lost and wanted to swindle us of $50-$60 of their "secure" packing boxes. What a joke. This place is a scam and can't believe they are allowed to open a UPS authorized location. These postal places make money off selling you their packing material because otherwise they'd not make money. I'd bet lots of customers have been duped. The customer that was ahead of us wanted to send an Amazon return back in the original box it came in and the lady was lying to him saying that she could sell him one of their boxes for $5 because she "wasn't sure if Amazon takes returns in the original box". Customer replied that Amazon shipped it in the box to him so he didn't see why not. He was very nice to her by the way. She was rude. He said he would just take it home and recycle another box, pack it and come back. She said loudly while he was walking away, to give back the label she had just printed for him because she "just can't let him walk off with it". Like he stole it or something. Rude af. He even asked her which one since she handed two and she replied "the one I just gave you". Good job. Hope this place closes and they lose lots of business. I've read other negative reviews about the owner having CCTV to prove they don't steal customer's shipped items. Well now they can use their CCTV to review the footage of our encounter which will prove our side of this fiasco. read more
