I had to return a 35 pound broken ladder to Amazon. I had a prepaid shipping label for the return. When the ladder was originally delivered to my home it was wrapped ONLY in tape and some shrink wrap. When I arrived at the UPS store, I was informed by the cashier that it needed to be returned in a "box" or "shrink wrapped" more (of course the cashier was willing to SELL me some tape and shrink wrap or a box). I asked why it needed to have more wrapping when it was a broken item and it was shipped to me that way. The cashier told me that it could open up during shipping. I am 65 years old and I weigh 115 pounds. It was a struggle for me to bring it back the first time. I re-loaded the ladder back into my car and brought it back home. I bubble wrapped the latter and taped the ladder from top to bottom and drove 15 minutes back to the UPS store to have it returned. Although the ladder was completely safe and wrapped tight, they once again refused it. I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was not any manager on duty until the following Tuesday. Charged $1.99 for a bag because the Amazon return had to be in a box or bag. Apparently the return wasn't in the type of box she wanted it in so pay up or leave and come back after waiting 10 minutes in line. I brought it in the box it was delivered in. She said I needed a QR code, which is exactly what she just scanned of my phone. Don't expect free Amazon returns and if you have a QR code you won't know until they print out their label whether you have to pay or not. She said the entire business is about making money and they don't make money off Amazon returns (don't know if that's true) so I guess at least she was honest about it being a money grab. Amazon refunded the $1.99 which was more about the principle of saying it was a free return but that's only up to the discretion of who takes your return at this store. read more

I went into the La Quinta UPS Store on Monday to return an item to Amazon which was required to be sent at a UPS drop-off. I had been priorly informed I only needed a barcode for a UPS Store but when I arrived I was told, if not admonished, by a rude and combative 'you know what' younger member of their staff that I needed to print it out as if I were some sort of idiot. They charged me over $3.00 to print the label and another staff member (more professional and mature) then finalized the return. ..or so I thought. Well, well, well. Tonight the package, which was rather heavy, was returned to me with a UPS Label taped over a plastic pouch which was over the original label. Inside the plastic pouch was my return label, folded in quarters, clearly never having been secured in any way to the package. Really? How does something like this happen? If you can't rely on a UPS Store to do it's job right, then don't charge us over $3 to print the label you didn't secure it to the box in the first place. I might add that they really need to learn to manage their workload and not take their bad mood out on customers or take short-cuts with each customer. This past Sunday I came into this store and was super disappointed in my experience there which sadly isn't my first time. I am regular at this store, usually I get helped by the girls which is always a great experience they are quick and get me out fast. They are also super nice but it was this gentleman unfortunately I have a rough time with him before. He was helping this customer a few a head of me and the customer needed more help than others it was apparent. He didn't have his return processed or ready to go which the girls have helped me processed before but instead of helping he told him to go to the back of the line. I ended up to be his next customer but before he even helped me he was scrolling on his phone and he was rolling his eyes the whole time he was helping me sighing. Like Jesus I know you're busy but you don't have to be rude this reviews are spot on about him. I have never felt like such a bother to someone. I started using this UPS Store around a year ago and have never once had a bad experience thanks to the amazing staff they have. I have had multiple experiences with Alma, Virginia, and Celi and they have always gone above and beyond. I often have difficult/rushed orders and each time they have handled it in not only a professional and efficient way, but also with friendly attitudes. These three always go above and beyond and this store is extremely lucky to have them on staff. The UPS Store would charge you to enter their store if they thought they could get away with it. I have an Amazon return and this franchise wanted to charge more than $3 to print a shipping label. Take it anywhere else, like kohl's, and they will print it out at no charge. I've used this business's service before and it was a headache. I recommend avoiding this place if possible. read more

I have been to this UPS location many times. When the owner is not there (and once even when she was), the women working in this business do not always treat customers well. Is it too exhausting for you to greet customers after you tell them to come over? A simple "hi" would suffice. But the thing that really ticks me off is if they don't say "thank you" or some equivalent. Just handing me the receipt and saying nothing is just rude. And since I know that UPS locations make the bulk of their money off of the number of packages people bring in, I think a little courtesy towards the customers who are in part paying your salary, is not too much to ask. I come here often to drop off Amazon return packages about once a month. I've never had problem. I've never had to wait long (10 minutes max if lots of people in front of me); maybe because this location does not get much foot traffic? I usually see one person working in the whole store. Parking is always plentiful and right next to the store. Staff is friendly. If you need tape or a box, you can buy lots of office supplies here; however, they are priced much higher, and I suggest you go to the Walmart within walking distance behind the store instead. read more

Disappointed to say the least. My best friend overnighted a package to me that I needed right away. The day that it came to the house, I was at work so the delivery was rescheduled. I went to the ups store in LQ at 9am today to check if it was there but they said to come back at 1 because the truck doesn't come until then. I came back at 1:15 and still my package was not there. My mom then came in at 2:45 to check and they told her it was out for delivery and coming to our house. However, they told me that it would be dropped off at the store. We've been told two different things and I'm already annoyed. After wasting gas 3 times to hear the same thing I see on the website is ridiculous. I left a package with the to re-box and address label. My inner-package had two large labels with the correct address. They mis-labeled the outer shipping box during their re-packaging for shipping. Net-net, my package was lost for a while and then returned by UPS. When It came back they (This Hwy 111 UPS-Store) were presented with the evidence of their mistake they refused to own the problem and reimburse or re-ship because I had signed their "form". Very disappointing because I was directly dealing with the woman who made the original mistake. I had to take it to FedEx where there was no problem. everyone makes mistakes, but there is no excuse for a business without the integrity to own their mistakes and fix the issue for the customer. UPS attempted to deliver a package to me and said it was undeliverable. I came to the UPS store and these gals jumped in to action to help out. They tracked down a driver that could find the other driver so that my package would be here before Christmas (as I paid for). I can't say enough good things are these people. Went to the store and were told they are "really busy and can't scan all the packages they get." We were then told we could take our business elsewhere. Unreal. Our package is still missing. In the past when I sent packages through this office I felt I got what I paid for with the service. That being said, they not only lost my package but lied to me, saying it had left their office and must have been misplaced during transit. Funny that the tracking number showed it never left their office. I paid for 2nd day delivery and I was assured that it would arrive on that day-but they couldn't guarantee the time. Ok. Fine. It was scheduled to arrive 7/2/2020. It arrived today, 7/8/2020, which I'm sure would have cost me way less since I shipped it on 6/30/2020. When I finally received a call from the store I was told "there were no guarantees given and we will not provide any type of refund". That's a flat out lie. No guarantee of the time it would arrive but they assured me it would be there on 7/2/2020. I'll be contacting corporate. I'm not done with this "lack of service I paid for" by a long shot!!!!!
