Worth the Wait It is that time of the year when packages get delivered by someone other than you. Yep, we are just days away from Christmas, but the days I am talking about are all the days of the year. It does not take a certified Expert Level Logistician such as myself to realize that different providers offer different levels of service and prices. While the USPS and UPS always come to mind, do you really want to take the time to check their prices and estimated delivery times when you do not have time to deliver them yourself? That's when I head to the UPS store. You are always offered their competitive prices and delivery times (along with tracking numbers) for each carrier so you can make an informed decision. Just because you know how, does not mean that it is worth your while to do it yourself! In the midst of the Holiday season you should expect to find serious lines no matter which carrier you use. At the UPS Store I have found the lines being shorter than the local Post Office, and prices / delivery schedules accurate. So it is kind of a no brainer for me. This week they even had special lines for approved returns (when you have been sent a prepaid label), so as to take the easiest first and cut down on waiting in line - sort of like the express lane at your local supermarket. It is nice when you see someone looking out for the little guy, and not just the big spender. But what about needing a notary, 100 holiday family newsletters printed, or something packed for shipment when you do not have an assortment of boxes or envelopes? For me, the UPS Store has always been there to back me up. Do I recommend the UPS Store? Whole heartedly! For price and service it is hard to go wrong. read more

Horrible experience. Run far and fast from this store. I went to return an Amazon package, and was told my code was for a Kohls return. I was fairly certain I had chosen the UPS store as it is only a mile from my house. The lady working insisted I had the incorrect code. I even called my husband and asked him to cancel the first code and resend me a new one. She still insisted it was incorrect. After driving all the way to Kohls, you guested it, the code was for the UPS store. The customer friendly lady at Kohls, wrote the code down for me and told me to encourage the UPS store to actually TRY to scan the code as it was valid for their store. She even provided me a 25% off coupon for my trouble..... I returned my package to UPS where someone finally bothered to scan the code and yup, it was correct for their store! read more

The young man that waited on me was very rude. if you can't treat people kindly maybe you need a new job. I tried to return some shoes i got from Amazon and usually if you have the return lable on phone the can scan ooh but no. then he told me that I should buy shoe insoles. I have had multiple instances where my mail is delivered to the wrong parcel, this time it was no different, delivered to the wrong one, but now no one seems to have my package and usps has it checked as delivered. Terrible service and insolent stupid people who don't know how to do their job. read more

I sold a hand blown Murano glass clown on eBay. I was really worried about packaging it well enough so it could be shipped safely. I'd seen the UPS commercials were they package anything. So I took my one of a kind clown to the Lee's Summit UPS store on Melody Lane. The young girl took my clown into a back room and then brought me the clown in a UPS box. I had already told the buyer I would ship it USPS so I didn't ship it there. Good thing because before I got home the tape had already come off the box. She only went down 1 1/2" down the side. My husband taped the box correctly and he took it to the post office the next day. I was so irritated with the tape coming off the box that I emailed the store. The store owner Dennis called and told me he watched a video and the wrong tape was used and that there were several issues that he saw that the employee did wrong. I was concerned at this point if it was even packaged well enough to be shipped. He said it looked like it. He refunded my $12.50 I paid for the packaging. Two days later I hear from the buyer that my one of a kind cannot be replaced Murano clown arrived shattered. She was extremely angry. The buyer is also an eBay seller and she said there was one piece - ONE PIECE- of bubble wrap on the bottom of the box and some on top of the clown. She said no one with any common sense would think that would keep a glass item being shipped safe. Thankfully I told her beforehand that I used the UPS store to package it or I would have received a horrible review. I was so upset and angry. I emailed the store several times and never heard back from the owner. I insured it for the selling price thru USPS however I won't get reimbursed for the shopping. So I am out $20 to sell a one of a kind can't be replaced hand blown clown that my sellers husband was getting for his birthday. read more

Not a fan. Dropped off two prepaid boxes and was charged a buck when the employee put a strip of tape on the top of the box. While I didn't have any other shipping needs today, I certainly won't be using this UPS store in the future. All other UPS stores I've used will do this as a courtesy. My learning curve in Lee's Summit I guess. read more

I've used this location on several occasions. Never had to wait long to be helped. It's not rocket science.. you're generally just stopping in to drop something off to be shipped. But they have other services as well, packaging, etc. A couple of times, parking was a little bit of a challenge, which is why I give 4 not 5 stars. They close fairly early during the week and on Saturday, so I would rate that as a small area for improvement. They're solid, though, staff has been cordial, etc. Recommend. read more

Really a $1 for TWO pieces of tape on a PREPAID package! I went go drop off textbooks and they told me that I needed to pay $1 for two pieces of tape. I would have taped the box myself if I had time and clearly I didn't. Being I've sent books off before and there was not a charge I wouldn't know this was now an issue. I expressed my disgust and shock and asked how I can file a complaint. This is when the owner Dennis Kemp felt the need to step in. As opposed to simply giving me the information I requested, he felt the need to give me a little lesson on why it was a $1. I am a mother of three and don't let me dropping off textbooks make you think for a second that I am a child. He requested that I look at the back of the store at the mess of boxes in the back. I do not care have how many packages are in the back. I do not care about the lines you claim would be out the door although there were three people in the store. After finally letting him know I was upset and didn't want to listen to his little lesson anymore he finally gave me his card. He is supposed to write down the information for me to make my complaint with the COMPANY but instead simply gave me his business card. I've already made a complaint with UPS and will express EVERY avenue so other people do not have to deal with the hassle or be ripped off. At the end of the day if a costumer is clearly upset do not provoke them. Apologize for the inconvenience and give them the information requested so they can go about their day! Just go to USPS in HY-Vee it's cheaper, faster, and better WAY customer service. I can buy a whole spool of tape for a $1 and you're ripping people off. Period. read more
