Yep, we are just days away from Christmas, but the days I am talking about are all the days of the year. It does not take a certified Expert Level Logistician such as myself to realize that different providers offer different levels of service and prices. While the USPS and UPS always come to mind, do you really want to take the time to check their prices and estimated delivery times when you do not have time to deliver them yourself? That's when I head to the UPS store. You are always offered their competitive prices and delivery times (along with tracking numbers) for each carrier so you can make an informed decision. Just because you know how, does not mean that it is worth your while to do it yourself! In the midst of the Holiday season you should expect to find serious lines no matter which carrier you use. At the UPS Store I have found the lines being shorter than the local Post Office, and prices / delivery schedules accurate. So it is kind of a no brainer for me. This week they even had special lines for approved returns (when you have been sent a prepaid label), so as to take the easiest first and cut down on waiting in line - sort of like the express lane at your local supermarket. It is nice when you see someone looking out for the little guy, and not just the big spender. But what about needing a notary, 100 holiday family newsletters printed, or something packed for shipment when you do not have an assortment of boxes or envelopes? For me, the UPS Store has always been there to back me up. Do I recommend the UPS Store? Whole heartedly! For price and service it is hard to go wrong.

I went to the print desk and there was a woman and her daughter standing there waiting for help and BEN - the Office Depot empoyee was on the phone (I later found out he was the manager on duty). He appeared to be on hold as he was speaking to the woman and her daughter. I asked if I needed to stand in line to use the printer (I had never done this before) and he was SO RUDE! He said I am trying to have a conversation on the phone and I only have 2 ears. (he said more but I was so shocked I didnt hear it all) The woman and her daughter looked at me in disbelief as well. I apologized and stated that I thought he was on hold. He continued to say rude things to me for interrupting him. I finished my printing and apoligized again. .He said nothing.. I went to check out with other items that I had and I told his coworker how rude he was to me. She said oh he is rude to everyone including me. She said that customers complain all the time and nothing is done about it. I filled out my survey to let Office Depot know how rude he was and haven't heard anything back. You know, it only takes a minute to be kind. There is no reason to be spoken to the way I was. I would like to say I will never ro to office depot again but I know some day I will have to but I will avoid people like BEN!

I decided to call OfficeMax in Olathe and the person I spoke with in the print department was very helpful. I recommend the Olathe location 100%. Also, while I was there, there was an older woman who needed help sending information to their email, and the employee refused to help her because it was almost time for the employee to get off. would not recommend Lees summit location!

New ownership has not helped the customer service at this store. They are sticklers for the RULES…read moreand are inflexible. They claim their franchise agreement dictates how customers must pack Amazon returns being dropped off, yet Amazon tells me it doesn't really matter. The previous ownership and management would make exceptions when it made sense and when customer service dictated. Instead, UPS is coming to my house for free to pick it up and the driver won't care at all. Once Amazon starts offering shipping services and they compete head to head with UPS, I think these UPS stores will lose a lot of their foot traffic.

My issue is that I haven't been able to receive mail address to me at my home address for the past…read moreyear and a half. It's a real problem. My residence is actually an independence however when my daughter moved out 2 years ago she turned in a change of address but when she did she only wrote, "The _______ Family" instead of just her own name. So since then all of my mail was going to her new address. Long story short, I've already went to the Independence post offices, multiple times explaining my problem, following their instruction to make a change of address and all the steps to fix it. Still not getting mail. Finally decided to go to blue springs post office, maybe they are a little more competent. That was a ridiculous expectation. The unhelpful and unprofessional white lady that I spoke to clearly decided from the start that she wasn't going to go out of her way to look into anything. Her solution was for me to start with Independence. Obviously she missed that part when I was explaining the situation to her. Also it was after 3:30 so probably too close to quitting time for her to further assist me. I didn't expect blue springs to be even more incompetent than Independence but you learn something new all the time.
