Oh I have so many regrets with this store. First, I should clearly have checked here first, as they are the lowest rated UPS store in existence. Second, I should have caught the general vibe of rudeness from the owner Gus and his lackey Nevine towards all the other customers. Nonetheless, I shipped my package and was sold "insurance" for the value of $4000 of the contents, and wound up paying significantly more than UPS had originally quoted me. Then the package was damaged--crushed in shipment. Despite being in original factory packaging for shipment, despite being surrounded in foam rubber and double-walled stiff cardboard, despite being a sturdy, metal piece of equipment, UPS managed to crush it. Now the store tells me I didn't buy insurance, only declared a value and there is no insurance on the package. Then I can't dispute the ordeal with UPS because I'm not the shipper (the UPS Store is). The store is wholly independent from UPS and UPS will only deal with the store. Meanwhile Gus and friends have no desire or incentive to be helpful because it's not their money. In short, the service is terrible, the people are dishonest about what you're buying and will completely dodge any and all responsibility when something goes wrong. At that point you, the customer, will have no recourse with them or UPS. Stay away, don't ship ANYTHING of value here, and I strongly suggest lodging a formal complaint with UPS Store Headquarters at (858) 455 8800. read more

Made it a super easy visit, answered my questions clearly, and took care of the whole process all the way to drop off receipt with lightning efficiency. 1. Do not use UPS if you are mailing something to a government office! I came here to make a shipment to the address clearly spelled out on a return envelope, but the staff here could not find the address in their system (which they claimed to be linked to the USPS system) and suggested I change the shipping address, but I insisted on the address after calling the government office to confirm it. (In fact, I found out later that this address was indeed accepted by USPS.) Then, I found out that UPS delivered my package to an incorrect address, and upon request UPS started an investigation. For almost two weeks, UPS had no clue of what's going on, and every time I contacted UPS customer service it just ended up being a waste of time: The customer service said I should talk to this store for more updates information, and the staff in this store said they won't have more information than what the customer service told me. 2. In particular, I think I was was speaking to the same very rude female staff twice. In both times she yelled at me throughout the phone call and blamed me for insisting on the address. In the end when UPS thought they had figured out what went wrong, neither the customer service nor the store gave me an update as they promised. I took initiative and called the store, and after I told her what I was calling for, the female staff yelled at me right away and said something like "I don't understand why you're still having problem with this" as if I should apologize for not having the ability to read their minds and obtain whatever information they didn't tell me. Worst service center ever. Was to drop 2 suitcases with all of the international paperwork required attached and they refused because they didn't like the paperwork or there wasn't a duplicate set. We explained had been preparing documents like this for many years and were told to go elsewhere. The woman who runs it is the most unprofessional, abusive and aggressive person I have ever seen in a business that deals directly with customers. I have been in the store a few times and found the woman so utterly abusive and rude that I switched to the store a few miles south, on Fair Oaks, in South Pasadena. They are nice and helpful there. The woman at this store treats the staff like mentally challenged children, and she treats the customers nearly as bad. I suggest you DO NOT use this UPS store. This UPS store is so overpriced--DO NOT SHOP HERE. There is a fair, friendly, reasonable store just down the street in South Pasadena, and a store further east on Foothill. I went to this location to buy a 22x22x22 box. Their price for the box is $12.75, as opposed to the $8.00 price for the exact same size at the Foothill location! Their services are also overpriced...I know that these stores are franchises, but this is ridiculous. Save your time and money and shop elsewhere. read more

Totally saved my bacon tonight! I found out after 5pm that I needed to get a few documents notarized ASAP, could not wait another day, and my regular place was already closed. I was told that Fedex has notary services and is open very late, but when I called them, they said that they no longer offer this service. I called several UPS Stores and all of them had notaries only until 4pm or 5pm, With all these phone calls, it was now almost 6pm, so I thought I'd have to bite the bullet and pay the premium for a home visit from a mobile notary, which I wasn't in need of other than the late hour. When I tried this UPS Store, and was told that their notary was there until 6:30, I did my happy dance and hit the road. Everything went smoothly, I was in and out of there in a few minutes, with the most pleasant notary person I've ever encountered. I'm a very happy customer! read more

I was running errands in Pasadena, so instead of dropping off my pre-labelled packages at my usual UPS Store near my house, I googled one in Pasadena and found this place. When I got there, I asked one of the guys if he could lend me their dolly and he was nice enough to do so. When I came in with my packages, I went to the farther end of the counter where he was. I asked for a receipt -- which is my usual request because it's my only proof that I did drop something off. It's called a "Drop-Off Package Receipt". Then I hear this annoying voice from the opposite end of the counter saying they can't give those receipts come Christmas time, so make sure you keep a record of your tracking number. It was the condescending way it was said that really irked me. I guess if you're not using the services at their UPS Store and merely using them as a drop off point, you're not really considered a customer here. You're not welcome. Hmm, one would have thought that that's part of what one signs off on when they become UPS Store franchise. If that Indian-looking woman is just an employee there, then I hope the owner pays attention to the fact that several people have complained about her here on yelp. (Two stars out of 5 as of the time of this writing -- that's bad.) If she's the owner, then I don't think people should come to this branch for whatever reason. She doesn't deserve your business. Since there's apparently one down the road in South Pas, I suggest you go there instead. Needless to say, that was the first and last time I'm going to this UPS Store. read more

I used this store about 10-15 times a month, and I always have a pleasant experience with the staff that know me by name. I came here to return something, which should have been a quick in and out since I already had my return label. You can probably tell from my 2 star review that this wasn't the case. First off, it was quite a big box. The two guys working at the counter saw me struggling from the parking lot to the door, put down the box to open the door, then struggle my way into the store. Neither of them acknowledged me, and they continued their conversation for another 2 minutes while I patiently waited. Another customer walked in at that time and just placed her stuff down and walked out... So... I did the same. I did get the refund though, so at least they did their job and shipped my package. Customer service = terrible = 1 star But at least my packaged was shipped with no problems, so I'll add another star. read more

Was totally unhappy! Stopped in to send off a UPS next letter for work and filled out the label and I stood there and three men wasted their time and mine. One was talking on the phone (personal unimprtant call) i over heard, th other was wrapping something to ship and the third was going through some folder of paper work not looking up to avod making eye contact with me. All any of these three men had to do was take the UPS package from me, I have an accont. But NO, i had to ask someone to take it and in all wasted over 25 minutes of my time with something that should have only took 5 minutes. Must be nice not too care about customers! read more

Hilarious! Couldn't get a mattress topper I bought back in the box, expected to have to buy a larger box. After asking me what it was, 2 guys just jumped on top of the bagged mattress topper to squish it down enough. I had to "hold" it while one quickly taped the hell out of the flimsy box it came in. Been going here for over 10 years for UPS related services. Well over 100 visits. I find them very reliable and competent.

If I could give this UPS store zero stars, I would. We came in here to try and mail a package to bill to the receiver (which cannot be done online, and can usually be done at a UPS store/location), which I have done before at other UPS store locations, but the worker here said that it couldn't be done and that UPS had banned those forms altogether from all UPS locations because people had been filling out false accounts. Um, what?! I highly doubted that that was true. So we asked how we would be able to ship our package if we had to bill to the receiver. Their response? You have to track down a UPS truck on your own and have that UPS driver give you a form to fill out. Seriously??! Are you kidding me? Does that sound as ridiculous to anyone else as it sounded to me? So we stepped outside and I called another UPS store to ask if we could bill to the receiver there. They said yes and laughed when I asked if those forms had been banned at all UPS locations because that's what I was told from the person at the UPS location in Pasadena. I walked right back in to the UPS store and told them that I just called another location and that they had those forms. They said they must be lying and that I should just go there if that's the case. So off I went! It's the Rosemead location btw if anyone is wondering - their service there is 10 times better!! read more

First I unnecessarily waited an extra minute and a half because the employees assumed for some reason I was with a female standing a yard in front of me in line. That's not that big of a deal, however. The big problem was that even though I handed the employee all the sender/receiver information typed out on a piece of paper, the employee entered both the recipient's address and my name incorrectly. Fortunately the address the employee entered didn't exist at all and the system rejected it, or else the $800 worth of Stub Hub tickets that the UPS store refused to ensure would have been lost for good. UPS refuses to insure tickets. I later noticed that the employee also mentioned to spell my name incorrectly. Luckily, Stub Hub was still able to find me in their system. It's disgraceful that the UPS store employees can't do simple data entry correctly. They almost cost me $800. Make sure you double check what the employees enter, because they sure aren't double checking. read more

I shipped 4 packages of Christmas gifts last week. I told them one needed to arrive NO EARLIER than a certain date (because the recipient would be out of town) and I would be happy to come back later in the week to ship it if THERE WAS ANY CHANCE it would arrive before that date. They assured me it would not, but it did. When I called to complain, they told me " most people are happy when packages arrive early". What part of "I need it to arrive after a certain date" did they not understand? read more

I have used this store in the past with good results, and that was definitely the case today. I need to ship a relatively large item across country and didn't have the appropriate box size. So UPS employee Chris found a large box that as is, would have cost $75 to ship. However Chris took the time effort and to trim the box down, resulting in an affordable $23 shipping cost, without compromising the product safety. I was there today 3/25/15 at approx 2pm.waiting in line to drop off a package, a woman was there talking to one of the other employees about a wrong package and had already called the store earlier and discussed it with the employee who knew what she was talking about. The Indian woman behind the cash register was busy helping a couple do their notary. The Indian girl Interrupted the woman's conversation with the other employee very harsh and loud and said. " I asked you if you had the right number or store and you said "No" or whatever she said. This wasn't even her business. She just butt in and was harsh and rude while the other customers and I were in shock. She did apologize to the woman and said my mistake, but it was not sincere, it was loud and rude. When the woman left, she told the other employee " thank you , you've been very polite, unlike some people here" Then, the Indian girl said loudly, "Seriously?" as the woman walked away That was not the way to handle the situation plus interrupting and not even knowing what they were talking about. Not good customer service. I've only used this UPS once before today. I don't recommend going here. Especially with the rude Indian girl read more
