I have been a customer at this post office for many years, even when it was in a slightly different location in the Mission Valley Mall. I used to live nearby and found it to be small, but super convenient. This current post office is smaller than the original was. I still have a PO Box there, and have had one for almost 10 years. I stop by regularly to pick up mail, and occasionally stop in to mail packages and buy stamps. I still think the staff is one of the friendliest post office staffs around. There are a few staff members who are very kind and helpful. Though the senior staff member who always made sure they had the best stamps has long since retired, they still seem to have a better stamp selection than most of the post offices in town. However, my reason for the 3-star review is that this post office is much less convent than it was even a year ago. Now it doesn't open until 11AM. I often like to pick up my mail in the morning on my way to work. Though, the PO Box is accessible in the early morning, I cannot take care of any other business there. Also, this post office was very accessible when Macy's home store was open, but with that closed, the only nearby parking lot becomes chaotic by 11AM. Other parking lots are a bit of a walk, which is not convenient when you want to stop in quickly. All in all, this post office is friendly, but simply not as convenient as it used to be. read more

This is the last place I'd expect to have a USPS. But it makes sense given that the mall is such a central location for us all. Came on a Friday around 2pm. Surprisingly there were 5 people ahead of me. It's a small location. 5 people in it made it feel full. They had one worker who loved his job. His name was Dupre. Had jokes for everyone. Was super delightful. Made the experience fun even though total time spent was no more than 2 minutes long. They do pretty much everything you'd expect here plus they have hallmark cards and gift cards here to buy as well as boxes and tape and stamps. Pretty quick experience. It's tucked all the way in the back of the mall by LensCrafters. read more

Small USPS store in the Mission Valley Westfield mall. It's near Spencer's, the restroom and Lens Crafters. Plenty of parking at this mall. There is usually one worker whenever I visit but the line goes by quick. Excellent customer service. They have PO Boxes for rent. They also sell packaging items if you need them; such as roll of packaging tape & boxes in different sizes etc. Prices for delivery has gone up within these past few years but it's as expected. Lucky me, I rarely have to go to the Post Office but when I do,I make sure to come to this location. I like to take care of my errands and treat myself to something delicious in the food court. The location is quite small so it can pretty crowded but surprisingly the line goes by fast. The staff have always been incredibly patient and kind to me. They are true professionals and want you out of there just as much as you want to carry on with your day. It's as though people bring their own personal frustrations with their mail to the postal office, I know I have. Getting irritated with them is not going to entice them to do their jobs any faster, your negative energy is taking up space in an already very crowded room. read more

I was already at the mall and needed to visit the post office. I was happy to learn that there was a post office at the mall. Unfortunately it was pretty difficult to find and after asking multiple people (employees and shoppers) no one knew where it was located. After going through and around the mall I finally found it. It is located outside of Macy's Home Furniture and Phoenix Salon Suites (near LensCrafters). It's in a somewhat deserted looking nook of the mall. I am one who feels that it's the people who are serving you, helping you (informative) and consistently sharing their uplifting energy as they do their jobs (and more) are worthy of 5-stars. I have found that going to the Post Office doesn't have to be so challenging when there our folks who greet you with a smile, are patient and most supportive of your needs - like "Dupre" - who makes my/our experience even enjoyable. read more

I've had to come by here twice now and had a pleasant experience both times. I pull into the first row of parking by Nordstrom rack and drive all the way to the end to avoid the hassle of parking any closer to the stores where it gets crowded. You have to walk around the bend but keep going, it's there. Went on a weekday at 4 and a weekend at 1, both times there was no line. And the person at the counter was friendly and helpful both times as well. Pleasant experience for a post office! Bonus is you can walk over to target after. read more

This small post office located inside Mission Valley Mall is very convenient and I don't know why I never remember it's here. Every time I try to find a post office between La Jolla Village Dr to Mission Valley, I always end up busting missions. I keep mistaking the post office located in front of D&B as a storefront, but they're only a shipping facility. I like how it's located inside the mall in case I wanted to walk around and the service is pretty quick even though the line is out the door and there is only 1 worker. This post office is located in a small nook by the Macy's store. Today was my first time visiting this location, and I don't intend to come back unless I absolutely need to. I just needed to return a package and I already had my shipping label ready. I just wanted one of the workers to tape up my package and give me a receipt w/ my tracking number on it... The clerk refused to tape up my package for me, even though the tape gun was right behind him. He gave me a tape roll and told me to move out of line so he could help the next person. I've visited many UPS and FedEx locations, and they've never had me tape up my packages before, or refuse to give me a receipt after my package is ready to be sent out. This USPS clerk told me to just take a picture of my shipping label for my records. The person behind me was in the same position, so her and I were squished in the corner of the store sharing and taking turns using the tape to seal our respective packages. Ridiculous. Moreover, there was a long line when I initially went into the store, and there was only one clerk working as quickly as he could. After 20 mins of being in line, is when the second clerk came out, the one I spoke to and provided me "service." If there was an available second clerk, why didn't he come out to help earlier? It would've helped move the line along more quickly. Idk maybe he was on a break or something. Whatever the reason, I recommend avoiding coming to this location if possible. read more

I really like this location that is tucked in a sideway of the mall. The people here are super chill. There where two people in the front and no one else was in line. They took my package and made small talk about the Hurricane season. A very postal thing to talk about. I came not long before closing and that didn't seem to be a problem at all. The package did get there on time so it seems to be a very capable location. They had plenty of mail stuff but your Pretty much in the same shopping center as Target and Michael's. So there is no reason you can't come in there ready to ship. Great location and is now one of the PO I will use. read more

I have informed delivery so I new I was receiving a Christmas card from my family. A few minutes after the mailman came. I went to bring in the mail. There was only an opened empty envelope. I called back home to let them know. They told me that there was a gift card inside the card. Well, there was niether. Following the timeline, the Post Office had possession of this piece of mail from the time it was dropped off until the time the mailman put it in my mailbox. That can come to only one conclusion. Someone working for the Post Office stole my mail. It's a sad day when US Postal Service employees moonlight as porch pirates. read more

When i needed to send something fast and the local store's computers were down, they directed me to this location. I'm glad they did. This store is very rarely busy. Friendly staff always behind the counter. They manage the line fairly well as it moves fairly quickly. They have all the services of the other solo store front post offices, except the lines! Located on the west side of the mall near Macy's home. Kinda random access to get there. Looks like you're traveling down a secluded back ally or something. This is a small post office. It's near Macy's Home Furniture. Park in that lot to get to the post office. You'll have to walk diwn the pathway by the Lenscrafters. It can be easy to miss but it's there. The staff is super friendly and helpful! I was in and out in 5 minutes. I think that since it's off the beaten path and not many don't know it's there, it's less busy than most regular post offices. Definitely my go to location to handle things! read more

We have an 11 month old baby who had a diaper explosion on the way which needed to be attended to, leading to our delay. The staff member had already taken a walk-in in place of us. A post office is a post office. I do not know why this one has a particularly low rating. People complain it's so hard to find, however that is a good thing because that means the lines will be shorter ha ha. In actuality, of the many post office I've been to, this one is the most efficient, and there's always plenty of workers helping, which explains the line. Yes it takes a couple of times to find out where you should park to get here most efficiently because it is inside the plaza, a little bit hidden, but that's OK. If you happen to be shopping, I need to grab some stamps, or other shipping supplies, this is perfect. In comparison to other post offices this one shines. There are PO boxes available for rent, and the prices are quite reasonable. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. Never have I been talked to so rude to and for no reason. I did not have a shipping label as I have previously gotten it at other post offices and they place the name and address on it, but all I got was attitude and told over and over he doesn't do that. Not why he doesn't or what my options are, just attitude. Than he proceeds to print my shipping labels ONLY with the city, state and zip and expected me to write on the box the address. The pen didn't even work nor would it be legible. Is it just me or did he not want to help me out? If he could put the city and state why can't he put the name and address? Also, taking very rudely at me to pay for the shipping when he doesn't even have the address or name on there. Why would I pay when it won't even make it to the destination. Dupre was informative and helpful in locating the smartest way to send a variety of items, measuring, and weighing two ways of sending boxes to find the best solution. As a visitor in the city with a younger sister who works at the post office elsewhere - she reminded me each post office is different even though the rules and procedures are the same. Park at Macy's home furniture where DXL is visible .. walk across the small cat walk into DXL and once you enter the mall you will see the post office across from you. I seen a few complaints about the older curly head gentlemen which looks to be from a fake account. Either way , completely false .. He was super helpful and went completely out his way to help me. And the fact that he is still working here let's me know he's a good worker and you probably were in the wrong Yelp is for serious reviews not because your feelings got hurt because things didn't go your way. read more

I run a small business so I'm at the post office a lot. This is definitely the slowest post office I've ever been to. Had one worker at the desk despite a long line, and he very clearly took his time. Had a long conversation with a customer about her trip to Monterey. We all had to stand there and listen. I had multiple packages and he took over 30 minutes to finish my transaction! Pretty embarrassing, with all these people waiting behind me. I have never had an experience like that and will not return. read more

No need to "go postal" when you come to this location. Situated at the semi-ghetto Mission Valley mall, this place is a little hole in the wall with excellent customer service, especially If your postman is Dupre. He is always so friendly and professional. Really gives a place a nice vibe. I actually go out of my way to make mail drops here because of him. Best of all, my correspondence seems to get to its destination much faster when I drop off here. It's hit or miss at other places. Definitely recommend using this location if you can. read more

This is definitely not an easy USPS to locate. I would suggest parking at the Macy's Home Parking and walk up the ramp, and make a right, USPS will be right in front of you. This USPS appears to be not as busy but not going to complain! I was able to be in and out in less than 10 mins. No lines. I went during lunch hours too. Was greeted by a really friendly staff. Look, I am not about giving bad reviews unless they are really bad but this post office is no fun particularly Donna! She has very poor customer service and I hope that I just caught her on a bad day. I went in to mail something internationally. I asked her for my options, she told me I only had 1 option and I knew I had several. Told me no, this is the only option you have. International mail requires 3 different labels. Takes a few minutes to do that. Completed it, waited in line again and the other person said why don't you send this "Express Mail"? So I completed everything again and it was great. I don't remember his name but on the receipt it says he is clerk # 67. He was good, provided 4 different options to mail the package. I wish Donna would have just been a little nicer. She told me I only had 1 option. I was sending this to Romania, I knew I had a few options but OH NO, you can't question Donna at the Post Office. Clerk #20 (approximately 60 years old guy with black curly hair) rudely declined to accept/scan 15 packages with prepaid labels, without a scan sheet & stated that other customers' mail is more important than mine. It really depends on who you get. One out of 3 person is very nice and the other 2 are using bossing you around or don't want to work. One person is always super helpful and fast. Lazy, slothful delivery person who does a crap job. So I had a notice on my door that stated that a certified letter was waiting for me at the post office. However, I couldn't read the writing on the ticket. I have seen the handwriting of mentally retarded children, and their penmanship was better than the idiotic scribbling on my ticket. I had to call the post office and wait on hold for 10 minutes JUST to verify where the letter was being kept. So here comes the lazy part of my accusation: rather than backtracking a mere 2 blocks on his route, the idiot lazy mail delivery person was too lazy and left the letter at the station where his route ends, which is all the way in Mission Valley!!!! So with traffic, it took me 30 minutes to get there instead of 2 minutes. This is unacceptable. These people need to do better jobs. In this economy, working for the Post Office is a very coveted job because the pay is good, the benefits are good, and they have job security. I am sure there are people out there who would be desperate to get his job, and who would make mail collection easier on the people by back-tracking 2 blocks. This stupid lazy prat doesn't seem to think it is worth it. When I went to collect my letter, I vented to the clerk who told me that this mail carrier does this crap all the time, and that it is infuriating everyone. So why is this fool employed? I left a complaint with his supervisor and i hope others follow suit. I miss the Royal Mail in England. I never had problems with them. Their carriers were always prompt, courteous, and they had average to good penmanship. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible. I made an appointment to get a passport for my baby, which means both parents have to be there. I arranged a day off work and my husband arranged a half day. They call me TWO HOURS BEFORE to cancel. No notice, no offer for a new appointment, no apology. Just a cancelation. I asked for a different appointment and they told me they couldn't and have me the 1-800 number. I call the 1-800 number and I'm told to leave a message. This is ridiculous. Not I'm out a full day's pay AND I'll have to arrange another day off whenever they decide to give us an appointment. At which point we'll have to pay for expedited processing (which wasn't in our budget) in order to get his passport in time for our trip. Avoid this location. read more
