For the past few years, I have frequented this UPS store for sending packages and Amazon returns. I continue to have wonderful experiences here. Their staff are incredibly friendly. Lou and Brenda are always wonderful, as are the other staff members. Even when lines are long, the team at this UPS store work effectively to ensure you won't be waiting long. They packaged a box of goodies for me and an item wasn't put in the box. The most important part of the gag gift was not in the box as the recipient said it wasn't. When I stopped at the store to let them know, the clerk said "somebody must've opened the box in transit and took it ." Uh, dude NO. They'd take a gag sticker and not a bottle of wine and gourmet caramel? So very odd. I won't use this store again. Sounds like 4S is better anyway. At least the wine got there. read more

I've come to this UPS Store a few times in the past couple of months and I just had to write a review after my most recent visit. Not only is the store always clean, organized, and efficient, but this time I got to see something really special -- the manager's children were helping out, and they were absolutely wonderful! You can tell they've been raised right -- polite, respectful, and genuinely helpful. The store gets very busy, however all of the workers are attentive, fast-paced and do their best to get what you need done taken care of quickly. The manager clearly cares deeply about both the business and the community, and it shows in every detail. This store is a true gem, and experiences like this one are what will keep me coming back. I love this store. I've had color copies made, shipped packages, and they are always very friendly. They take Amazon returns, and often they will have a line out the door. A large part of any long line is usually due to Amazon returns, where customers don't have their return packaged properly. They even have a sign showing you how to tell if your package requires packaging. One of the reasons I love this location is that inevitably someone in front of me does not have their return properly packaged, and the staff will do their best to dig up a used bag or box to save that customer the cost of purchasing packaging. They are literally a packaging store, and they make money buy selling packaging. The fact that they go out of their way to kindly help out their customers is why I ship all my packages there, and make copies there. We need to support our local businesses! Binjan is an amazing employee. I thought he'd had been doing this type of job for 30 years. The fact that, that's possible due to his age. I was very impressed. He treated me like a king from the time I went into the time I left if I were him, I would've been annoyed with me. I have some health issues and needed help and without thinking about it, he went above and beyond What's necessary to take care of the customer and put the customer first . One of the owners named Tanya is such a caring person. I didn't even know it, but she was taking all the customers that were backed up to ensure that he helped me. He wasn't rushing me. Most managers won't do that they are pompous and feel like they shouldn't have to help their employees. They made me feel like family then I met the Co-Owner of the place other than Tanya and he's hilarious. "Registers are shut. We're done." Why leave the door open? A pause. A shrug. "Oh. Guess we'll fix that." Drove four minutes to FedEx. Doors open. Smiles. "We got you." Package shipped. Horrible experience today trying to return my Amazon purchases at Bernardo center UPS. The worker owner or manager, not sure which, was very rude. He was a taller Indian guy with an accent. He was helping people on the right side, not behind the counter. He kept correcting how I was scanning the items, even though they were getting scanned, then was mocking me in a condescending tone when I asked, can't he just use an envelope they had laying around? I was so upset, I couldn't even finish scanning my items. It was very busy & no convenient parking. This is the worst ups service I have ever experienced. Usually other ups's are super helpful and friendly. I see in other comments, this isn't the first time they were rude or condescending to customers! Save yourself a headache & go to ANY OTHER UPS except this one!! Never going back here & telling my whole family to NOT GO HERE!! Happy New Year!! I have been impressed with this business the two times that I have gone to them with questions about Amazon returns. Yesterday I had 11 packages to return to Amazon for my husband, the line was really long when I arrived,, but the two employees behind the counter went through it quickly and then a wonderful employee asked if she could help me use the self help Amazon desk. I told her I was hesitant because I had so many packages, but she encouraged me to come on over and we got through those 11 packages so quickly! The other day I had to ship from two different UPS locations because the first location did not have enough supplies to ship all my packages. After shipping the same sized items at both locations, I discovered that the Rancho Bernardo location is charging far more than their neighboring store in 4S Ranch. To ship one 24x24 30lb fragile box from the Rancho Bernardo location was $57.88 for packing and supplies and over $236.00 for ground domestic shipping with insurance for a total of $293.88! The exact same 24x24 fragile box packaging service at 4S Ranch was $31.54. The 4s Ranch location also told me that I could save on shipping by preparing my labels online before coming to the store. That tip saved me an additional $61.42 in shipping costs per package with the same insurance. Total savings by using the 4S Ranch store was $92.96 per package. That's $371.84 savings on one shipment of four boxes to the same address. The Rancho Bernardo location frequently has long lines out the door, large turnover in staff and some of their employees are painfully slow. The 4S Ranch location is larger, cleaner, and adequately staffed... and they're quick! 4S Ranch is only five minutes away from the Rancho Bernardo location if you want to save yourself some time and money! Conveniently located in a large shopping plaza in Rancho Bernardo, my experience at this UPS Store was better than others I have visited. This store was busy, with a properly-spaced line of customers lined up out the door, but the friendly staff moved efficiently. Just like with Kohl's stores, you can choose to return items you bought from Amazon at a UPS Store. Refund credits are issued almost instantly once items are scanned. You can also return AT&T equipment to any UPS store. I had some old TV gear that was replaced by an AT&T technician awhile back. Inexplicably, technicians do not recover old items; they must be sent back via UPS. So yeah, I was able to take of two return errands at this single location, which is mighty convenient to me. Next time I have Amazon or AT&T returns I will keep this location in mind. read more

This is my go to place for shipping, especially with my Amazon returns. I love shopping on Amazon but sometimes i have the "What was I thinking" moment when unboxing a purchase. Lucky for me this place is conveniently located in a nearby shopping center and they make Amazon returns super easy! Staff are helpful and friendly. They enjoy making conversation which is always a bonus. It's rare when I have to wait longer than a minute to be helped. My visits here tend to be quick and easy. Things always run smoothly there, and if there is a line, they get to you quickly. I've done shredding there, and it is 99 cents per pound, and they even rounded it down for me! Very pleasant employees with great customer service. I really appreciate that we have this store in our neighborhood. For Amazon return.. I know (previously owned similar business) the owner doesn't get much profit at all but spend lots time and labor to scan it. Plus UPS driver may not accept the return if the repackaging is not upto their standard. It is very difficult situation as a middleman between the customer and the ups driver especially when you don't make much profit by providing the service. I wish people understand more and appreciate it how tough it is being a small business owner nowadays. read more

This location is very unorganized and unprofessional. 1) An employee had me send them a Venmo payment for a fee. 2) They took over 20 minutes to find and print my label I sent . 3) The manager informed me they are unable to provide me contact information for an escalation. This is the third time I've encountered issues with my process. The worker didn't follow the prints correctly for each item. He kept confusing the items with the labels, and instead of addressing the mistake, he seemed frustrated with me, as if I was the one confusing him. Even though I was literally showing him the barcode and clearly pointing out which item went with which, he still got it wrong. I could understand if he appeared to be trying to understand the issue, but it felt like he wasn't taking responsibility. It's clear that the workers aren't providing the support. I went to the store for their notary services with my mom. I have been helping her while my Dad is sick with Alzheimer's. As soon as I started explaining what we needed and why I was cut off and said they could/would only talk to the person they are notarizing for (I understand rules but not all of us know the nuances of those rules and there was a polite and professional way to handle this). We were then asked what type of notary service we needed and they listed 2 options. We did not know which was best so I stood there as my mom explained the situation and their reply was "I can't advise you what to do". Again, we were just looking for guidance as we are not notary experts. Once we decided on the correct notary service the notary then told us that she actually can't notarize the document because we are not in Texas and we should just call someone else. (note: the company from which the document came from is based in Texas but is a global company). This was a standard form that required a notary stamp but the employee refused to help us. She just kept repeating that she cannot advise us on what to do but she won't offer her notary services.... We took the document down the street to another notary, explained the situation, and they explained all you need is an attached acknowledgement form, which she helped us with easily and quickly. I hope in the future this store recognizes these services are not their customers' profession and apply some customer service, kindness, and patience instead of being condescending. This receive a 2 stars instead of 1 because the other gal that was in the store was very polite and joked with us. read more

First he doesn't say can I help you, then yells at me for me not taping my box the shoves the receipt at me and says here. I had a wine UPS Shipment delivered to the RB UPS Store. I do this because we travel a lot. It is most convenient to ship to UPS or Fedex Store and pick up upon getting back in town. I had a shipment delivered Tuesday last that I went to pickup on Thursday. Upon getting the shipment the store demanded a $5 storage charge. That is un heard of. I had shipment to same store some months ago, with no suggestion of a storage charge. It must be a new owner, as he was quite adamant about the charge. Just based on principle, I had the shipment returned and will have it shipped to customer friendly Fedex. I have shipped to Fedex many times with no issue. I checked with Fedex and their policy is to hold a shipment for 5 days for no charge but return shipment after 5 days. Quite reasonable. You can bet that I will not use UPS and the RB Store again. read more

Simple Amazon returns turned into a NIGHTMARE with this store, specifically the old white man who sent me back TWICE to fix my Amazon packages, he talked to me so rude, so degrading, and at the end he refused to help us at ALL. All the other white peoples were treated so kind but I, a minority, was treated like absolute trash. Couldn't believe it. I talked to Amazon and even they were confused, they take packages any way they come, and the guy at ups wanted me to buy a mailer, he wouldn't even use tape to close the box, he said you should have come prepared with packing tape and made it ready yourself, like excuse me?! This is just going to Amazon as a RETURN! Go somewhere else, you can feel the racism here. He was giving me crazy eyes and all red and angry just because he wouldn't use some tape to close the box. (P.s everything was in an Amazon box, with the necessary papers attached, slip inside) read more

Laura has a heart of gold, and Brenda shows how much she cares about people in every thing that she does. The entire staff really strives to be efficient and helpful, despite the challenge of helping people process their Amazon--and other--returns when folks do not take the time to read instructions. I've observed them helping guests in ways that go FAR outside the scope of their job duties. I accidentally provided an incorrect address to Brenda for a shipment and guess what? She was polite and professional when it was discovered, and absolutely did not make me feel like an idiot for my stupid mistake . This small business is a Gem! So I just came into the store for what I thought was some simple Amazon returns. I was wrong. I'm guessing the owner was helping me (I believe they are a franchise). One of the items (mattress pad) he said he can't return because it needs to be in the original packaging. I was using a box I had found. I told him the original packaging was a vacuum sealed and in a plastic bag, so it would be impossible to fit in a bag. He said he can't take the return, however, he could SELL me a box and packing supplies, and then he could return it...get this, because Amazon wants to turn around and resell the item in the box it was returned in. So wait, he first says original packaging, then says he can sell me a box. Then he says Amazon wants to resell the item by just selling it in the box I returned it in. OH really?!?! So Amazon doesn't even open to check the item before reselling it? What if I came home drunk and puked on the mattress pad? Or my 2 year old son peed all over it?? He then says "Well look at the return notice on your phone. It say's your package, your package your package." I reply back " Yes, it is my package, I see no where n the return notice that it needs to be in the original pacakging" Then he fumbles his words, and just keep repeating that it says "Your Package". If he had some reasonable points and logic, I would have said OK no problem. But the logic and reasons he was throwing out were complete garbage. At this point, I'm running late, and tired of arguing with this up-selling idiot. I drove a few miles to another UPS Store, and they took the return as is. I explained what happened at the other store, and the lady says she has never heard of anything like that. AVOID this location and bring your business to another more honest UPS Store!!! They seem to lie in order to maximize profits. I get it, they probably don't make much money on Amazon returns. And they're a business, they are trying to make as much money as possible.
