Betty and the ENTIRE team there are wonderful. The service, environment, everything is just all one could ask for and expect from a small business. I have been coming there for over 6 years (I have businesses that require mailing addresses) and it is always a good experience. When the line gets long (as it sometimes does) they are able to prioritize and get everyone out efficiently. Greg does the notaries and it is always a smooth process. If I get a package, I am always sure to pick it up quickly, their space is a little smaller than many other Postal Annexes. I have mailboxes there, have gotten some greeting cards there, keys copied, copies made, packages mailed, items notarized, mailing peanuts, etc.. Side note, the cost of their shipping supplies is quite decent and cheaper than office supply stores for a lot of the items such as some of the boxes. They are also cheaper than those overpriced Minute Key machines as well. Lastly, for those who don't know (as a number of Postal Annex reviews seem to reflect this), Postal Annex marks up postage. If that won't work for you, you may want to go to the actual UPS/FedEx/Post Office store. Logistics companies really don't offer wholesale/discounted pricing for retailers to make much/any kind of margin on postage/shipping. Retailers that sell stamps at their market rate are literally selling them at cost. Anyways, I am happy to get my postage there here and there to help the business and because I get plenty of value from the oversized (does not fit in the mailbox) package acceptance/holding. read more

I have come here to send mail and packages many times. They have always been on point. In Rancho Bernardo, the post offices only deliver mail but you can't walk in to buy stamps, envelopes, or send packages like this place offers. Found out they have a notary too. I think it was Deb who helped me out last time I was here. I had to get some notarization done and was able to hook me up. Not monetarily though, as it looks like as of January 2018, California has raised it's allowed notary fee to $15...per signature. I've used this Postal Annex location on a few occasions. One was to pick up a package, another was for DHL dropoff. Both were for DHL services. I've had excellent service both times, and the staff has been more than helpful and friendly. Picking up my package was super easy! I had arranged my package be dropped off here instead of my home and all I had to do was walk in and show them a notification on my phone. It was a quick pick up and I was in and out in like a minute. Same with the drop-off. I went in there yesterday to drop off an Amazon return through a third-party Amazon seller. They were in the UK, and use DHL, so I thought where am I going to drop this off?! Then I remembered Postal Annex. There was kind of a line when I walked in, but the woman at the counter noticed I was dropping off, so she let me just sit my package on the counter and hand her the slip quickly so I didn't have to wait. I've had great experiences at this location. The customer service has been great! read more

The staff here is not so friendly. They ask what you need upon entering the store, but that's where the pleasantries end. They are incredibly impatient and treat their customers pretty poorly. They act like you should know how processes work like notarization and international shipping. Questions seem frowned upon. Deb in particular is pretty rude. The store itself is pretty dirty and is a hoarder's dream come true. Things are cluttered, dusty, and appear to have been sitting there for an eternity. NEVER go here if you need Live Scan Fingerprints. I had the worst experience. Started at the end of August with getting prints done. I wanted to make sure there was plenty of time to get them before I started my job, as a Realtor. Well, a month later I received a letter from the board stating my prints were not accepted because Paula wrote the price I paid for the Scan, in the place they wanted the date!!! So I went back again, (I should NEVER have) for a new Scan left the store. 3 1/2 months later, I still hadn't received them,. I made some tons of calls to try to figure out where they were, DOJ, FBI, Bureau of Real estate, NO ONE knew anything, I kept calling until finally a guy at the BRE, called me back. A week prior Paula did make 2 calls to help, I guess. The same man she spoke to called and told me the reason they were NOT accepted was because Sylvia at the store entered my birthdate WRONG. He said I needed to start from scratch again, I was so angry, I was going to blow a gasket. The man also told me, the week prior when he spoke to Paula he told her the reason they weren't accepted again. So she knew 1 week before I did the reason. I asked him to call Paula so she could hear this straight from the source. When I asked her later about that, she said he did NOT tell her that. He has no reason to lie to me. SO, she lied to me which is not good. I am almost 5 months without the ability to work!!!! The worst part of all of this is Paula NEVER ONCE apologised, not once! I told her this is my livelihood and that I can't wait 3-4 MORE months to get my Fingerprints cleared. Can you IMAGINE, NOT one apology. This is serious stuff! read more

Needed to renew my passport because it expired. Went to the post office and got attitude from the employee so I grabbed the form and went to postal annex. They were very helpful and took the picture and helped me fill out the form. I definitely would recommend this location. If renewing a passport print or pick up the form first. Also bring a check along with expired passport to send back. read more

Notary by the name of Gregg Miller, Commission #1819154 expiring Nov 18, 2012, notarized a power of attorney and charged $10 for this service. The notary acknowledgment's verbiage that came on the document was incorrect, however Mr. Miller still used this incorrect acknowledgment. The county recorder rejected the document for recording and stated that Mr. Miller should have replaced this acknowledgment with a corrected one, but failed to do so. This knowledge is part of Mr. Miller's notary training and state licensing exam. read more

I normally go to the post office to mail packages. This week, on a whim, I went into Postal Annex to see if they could help me find a box of an unusual size. I was thrilled to discover they had exactly the sized box I needed. I took the box home, packed it, and returned to Postal Annex to mail it. My experience was great! More options for shipping than the post office. No wait. And wonderful customer service! Betty was so helpful and kind. She helped me more securely tape the box I was mailing, then looked through several different shipping services to find the least expensive one (which also happened to be two-day delivery!). While Betty was helping me, my toddler was kept entertained by the fun toys in the store. And we left with a cute toy that my son loves. Postal Annex will be my first stop for any future mailing needs. I'm happy to have found them. read more

I have used this store many times because of it's convenience but my last visit was THE LAST time. I honestly don't know why the lady and gentleman are even in this store. They are always miserable and it's never a pleasant experience. This week, she was just downright rude. I did not ask anything strange or unusual either. I will rather to to the post office and stand in a long line or go to the new UPS store near Starbucks up the road.
