I've been using this location often because it's close to where I live. They accept returns from Amazon and they always help you nicely. Today, there was this guy at the cashier who helped me shipped a package. He was polite and very professional. Sometimes when you go to these shipping places, you see people who work there and they look so sad - like they don't want to work there. We used to live nearby and had used their mailbox for over 2 years; staff used to be much better back then, prompt and friendly and we used to come few times week to pick up our packages; Recently it's gone so downhill and we hated coming here; luckily we recently moved and had no use for the mailbox any longer. Then we received 3 emails in the past month about the renewal to which I replied saying we didn't need to renew, but kept getting the same emails. I finally called and the 'manager' woman who answered the phone got frustrated saying she couldn't find me in the system and HUNG UP ON ME; You've sent me 3 emails to renew the mailbox and now you can't find me? And the way you deal with your customer is to hang up on them? Wow. Is that how UPS trains staff on customer service? Bad service, it had been the third time they tried to make me paid. I have a package delivered directly to their address and I went pick up, they said they can't find it, tell me to come back next day, then I kept saying that I got a notification and email that it is ready for pick up. Finally they find it. Then they said I have to pay a fee of $7.95 to have my package stored over there, I was like I never know there is sthg like that existed because when I purchased the product, the shipper offered me this option, and it said it is FREE. Then she said she will check. After that, she said, Oh, there is no fee. This location was never like that few years ago. I had very strange experiences at this store, one month apart, on 3/17/18 and 5/1/18. In March, I shipped a large box--the cost for the box was $17.50, the peanuts for insulation were $4.00, and the bubble wrap was $4.00. The clerk was helpful and pleasant. Yesterday I was charged $29.75 for a box of identical size, I was told they no longer used peanuts, and in addition it cost $25.00 for roughly the same amount of bubble wrap with a $30.00 wrapping charge. The clerk also initially told me they didn't have large boxes until I told him several times that I shipped a package a month earlier in a large box. I think the message is that some of the staff at that UPS are surly and unhelpful and one shouldn't always count on dependable service from the same franchisee. I won't use this UPS again. (The employee in May was also rude to a woman who came in while I was there and I thought the client's questions were quite reasonable. She was smarter than me, and left without mailing her package.) I had a particular terrible experience here & I'm just writing this to warn everyone!!!. My package was delivered to this UPS location for Customer Pick up. I went to this location 2 days later to pick up my package. The 3 young girls working there were ALL on their phones, & apathetically said they could not locate my package, despite the UPS tracking & receipts stating it was delivered to this specific UPS location, & signed by the manager as ready for customer pick up. What's worst is I literally saw my opened Too Faced Cosmetics's Package, behind their work counter, strewn on the ground as garbage, with the front address ripped off the box, & the internal contents empty. (Too Faced Cosmetics sends their items in a bright pink branded box, so it stands out from all other boxes.) I said that looked like my package that was delivered to this UPS store for me to pick up, which they all can't seem to find. It was literally behind their work counter, on the floor, opened as trash, & with the inside contents missing. When I questioned them, as it seemed to be my package, they were all very evasive & gave me some lame excuse that it was from somebody else. I asked to see the opened Too Faced Cosmetics's package, that was laying as trash behind their work counter, & it had the front address ripped off, however, the official UPS sticker on the bottom was still there, that stated that that specific package was indeed delivered to this UPS Store for Customer Pick up. Now I don't want to accuse anybody of anything, - but all the circumstantial evidence just seemed really suspect & strange. Anyways, the irony is that I chose this UPS pick up location because I thought this location would be more secure to avoid package thefts & porch pirates at my own front door. And to my surprise, my package was indeed Lost & Stolen from this very UPS location, and it seemed to be suspiciously Internal Employee Theft!! I also don't know what's worst, - the fact that my package was literally lost or stolen internally from this specific location, - or that the 3 young girls working behind the counter at the time, all acted like they could basically care less. It was literally like talking to a wall, when you needed assistance on why your package was missing from their location. Really bad Customer Service here. And I myself work in the Customer Service Industry, so I know. Absolutely the Worst!!! UPS Customers - Beware of this UPS location & also of its workers here, as its not a secure location at all & your packages could end up being tampered with, lost, stolen or mysteriously disappearing from this location, possibly due to internal theft, as it happened to me on my most recent & definitely very last experience here!!! Such a waste of my time. After waiting 10 minutes in line I finally get tot he counter. "I need to ship this box to Canada and use this account number" as I handed an employee a box and piece of paper with address and account number. After another 15 minutes of said employee fumbling through these complicated process of shipping something, did I mention this is a shipping store?, I am asked to pay $43 to what I replied, "I thought you were going to put on account I provided" and that's when the "manager" jumped in and quite rudely said "we don't do that here. I will not be coming here again. I came at a not busy time of the day and the worker (Mari?) was rude and stand offish. I tried my best to be polite. I tried to help with my box's packaging and she shooed me off. There's a nice way to tell someone you don't need help. But she made me feel embarrassed in front of two other customers. I ended up spending way more than I expected but I also felt rushed because she made me feel like I was interrupting her flow or made her even more busy. A package which I left at your store on the 8th of August arrived today 17th in Texas. Items arrived broken.Side of box was caved in. I specifically asked to watch the boxed being packed and was told NO because people were waiting.I also asked that FRAGILE stickers were to be put on the box and was told they would be. There weren't any on the box. The box contained handmade bowls and serving dishes. I insured the package, however, the potter who made these items is no longer alive and they can not be replaced. If you need to get something notarized, do not come here. The notary made several mistakes throughout the process - so many mistakes that he ended up attaching a separate sheet of paper in order to negate all of his mistakes. The whole situation took about 15 minutes to notarize a few signatures not including the time waiting in line (15 minutes). With other times that I have been here to send packages, I have also experienced sloppy mistakes like misspellings of names, wrong addresses, and almost always long lines (sometimes related to poor/untrained customer service). read more

I need to apologize to Shaunna and her Dad for not writing a review of their store sooner, but they never cease to amaze me! I used to go in about once every week or every-other week since most of my family and all of my friends live out of state, and every time I would walk in Shaunna would already have my account pulled up and be ready to help me ship! Well, I have not been in there for at least two months, probably longer, and I walked in today and Shaunna recognized me right away and started teasing me about the names of towns in Wisconsin (where I'm from and often ship to)! It was great, such a pleasant experience! When shipping anything I will pay the extra to ship from their store solely due to the customer service that is provided. Oh, one time, I got there five or ten minutes after closing and Shaunna was talking to a friend outside and although the store was open the computers were shut down. She took my package and said she'd ship it the next day, no worries, and I could pay her the next time I stopped in! Are you kidding me??? Who does that these days?!?! They are fabulous! read more

I came in here one saturday morning. I had an interview that day and my printer at home had died. So i waiting outside until the UPS opened so I could quickly print my resume. A couple walks up and open the doors 10 minutes early and tell me that I can come in because its cold outside! It was really nice for them to do that and at no point did I feel uncomfortable waiting. I've been to so many print shops for big projects and what not because I am a graphic design student and usually the people working there are so unfriendly and want you to just leave. I can honestly say that I'm not surprised to see the number of 5-star comments about this UPS Store. Every single word of them really is all true. I'm a mailbox customer. I'm in there almost every day. As someone who owns a business in the service industry, I know what it's like dealing with people. The vast majority of people are great, but you'll always have the ones that present arguments for no reason, who have real poor attitudes and are rude, who ask the dumbest questions, who can't seem to follow the simplest of instruction, or just plain can't understand that it's impossible to ship out FEDEX from the UPS STORE. (oh yeah, I've seen that....really, would you order a Whopper at McDonald's?) Anyway, I digress - my point is that despite that sampling of people, everyone in there gets the same treatment from them. It's always service with a smile and kind words. It takes a lot of patience to do that, and I applaud Keith, Shaunna, and Steve. You can tell that this is more than just a paycheck to them. They actually care about helping people. All the other reveiws about this company prove that point. Over the past year, I've gotten to really know the Infamous UPS Store Trio (Keith, Shaunna, and Steve). I consider them my friends now. Although they don't know it yet, I'm coming over for Thanksgiving Dinner. Even if it's a little out of the way, you really do need to check this place out. What I love about this place is that it has a neighborhood feel. All of the employees are tremendously helpful and super friendly. I love how they know their customers' names, and if they don't you personally, they still treat everyone like an old friend. They package everything with great care, as if it was their own. This is in regards to their notary services: I called on a Monday to confirm notary availability. A lady on the phone said Mon through Fri 8:30am-10:30am and I did not need an appointment. I walked in 2 days later at 9:45am and the employee stated the notary "just left" and he couldn't confirm whether he'd be back or not. I guess a 2 hour window is too long to provide this service. Despite the negative reviews for this location, I thought I'd give them a chance but this was beyond disappointing. Very bad for business. Go to UPS at West Portal. Their notary is avail until 5pm and I just walked in without an appointment. read more
