If you like to be treated like an inmate at the prison chow line...this is the place for you. Rude staff, and not pleasant. They would do very well working at the prison intake center. I just wanted to drop off a package that had a preprinted label. Other outfits let you simply hand it over the counter while here I was met with a sharp no and ordered so stand in line. After dutifully standing in line the staff member simply pointed to the counter which apparently means that I am supposed to put the package in the counter. Is it that hard to say hello? I will NEVER visit this location again! Came in to ship some documents overseas. The person who assisted me NEVER once told me that the package would be transferred over to the USPS for shipping. He only gave me a price and estimated delivery time. So I went ahead and paid $88 only to find out a couple days later that it was sent out via USPS. If I'd been told his at time of shipment, I would have chose FedEx instead! I came back to the store 2 days later to speak with the manager John. John insisted that his employee did in fact tell me that. How are you going to tell me what your employee said when you weren't even there to witness the transaction! Then John states that because it was one of his best employees, that he couldn't have been in the wrong. Dude give me a break with the lame excuses! John has absolutely no customer service skills, was defensive and continued to insist that no wrongdoing was done on their part. I can live with it being shipped via USPS, but at least tell your customers that beforehand and don't make excuses for your screw ups. Any customer has the right to assume that packages shipped from the UPS store are going to be handled by UPS. If not tell us! I have already contacted UPS Customer Care (1-800-789-4623/customerrelations@upsstore.com) to file a complaint. read more

Customer service at this location is severely lacking. Let me preface by acknowledging that UPS did not create my issue, but their "help" with developing a solution is my concern. Comcast sent me two prepaid labels to return equipment, but both labels mistakenly had the same tracking number. UPS took both, gave me a receipt, but then caught the error two days later. They called and asked that I come back to the store. I returned to resolve the issue. I asked if we could put everything into one box and ship it under one of the two labels. One clerk told me we could, then quickly said he wasn't sure. He asked the second clerk, who stated that "the boss" had said earlier that we couldn't. The first went into the back to verify, then came back with a completely different solution that made no sense. After going around and around for 10 minutes, they both agreed that they could put everything into a single box under one label. Wonderful...or so I thought. They quickly returned to inform me that the label stated "3 lbs" at the top. They were concerned that combining the two boxes together would possibly exceed 3 lbs. Dumbfounded, I acknowledged that they were correct, as each box was approximately 10 lbs alone. This they should know because they carried the boxes back and forth several times. I asked why it didn't matter before that the label stated "3 lbs" but the box weighed 10 lbs. They weren't sure. I asked what the "3 lbs" on the label even meant. They weren't sure. After having all of my patience exhausted, I finally just had them ship one box using one tracking label and I paid out of pocket to ship the other box. These guys seriously resemble stereotypical potheads and can't do much beyond scan and print receipts. I've been a few other times and they were able to pull that off without any hassle. Conversation is pretty wanting, though. As in...I want them to not converse with me. If I wanted to be called "dude", I'd go to the beach and at least get some sun. read more

I had to urgently ship out a couple of packages before my early flight the next day and they stayed open for me despite my call advising that I may not make it by the store close time. There were issues with some of the labels and addresses but they were very patient and were able to come up with creative solutions so that I did not miss my deadline. Both the Ryan and John went above and beyond to help me and my packages arrived safely and on time. Although this is not the closest location to my home - I Will happily drive the extra distance because of the excellent customer service. read more

You go to UPS for one thing. To drop off a package that needs to be returned/shipped. I never see anyone else in a UPS location for anything else. If they are, they usually are having some issues so I tend to steer clear. This location is in the "Oaktree" complex with the AMC theater, etc and it's definitely a small location with usually only 1 or 2 clerks on staff. I do a lot of online shopping which sometimes results in returns/exchanges so I drop by here a lot. They are good if you have everything prepaid and just need to drop it off. If you actually need anything else, they tend to be a bit slow on the draw. My husband had a really bad experience with a prepaid package where they actually sent it and the receiver lost it. The service here, to me, is always first-rate and top-notch. Usually, I have no problems - I place my order, pick it up in a couple of hours, thank the staff, and leave. Recently, I had a problem with their color laser printer; the manager took time to run off color proofs with different densities and adjust the color space on my PDF file to my satisfaction. Awesome. Excellent staff makes the mundane, exceptional The staff CONTINUES to impress me. I just sent a print job over and the formatting I used was problematic (due to no fault of their own). When I tried to correct my errors I had a bunch of issues but finally got it resolved. I contacted them to let them know I'd be re-sending the job and John was able to offer some suggestions for a different method to produce my documents that was VERY helpful and is what I now use. Going above and beyond is just what these people do. I've never had any box office store or other print location actually go into the technical specs I was using to produce the job I was asking them to expedite in order to help me do MY job better. However, I came back after 5 minutes later another employee named Rojhen quoted me $77.31. I was not so sure who was right so, I sent it anyway with $77.31. However, I came back home I checked The UPS Store website shipping calculator it was only $52.13. If you want to ship a something here please check the UPS calculator on the website or print the shipping label. This store's defense was "well, ups doesn't scan every package". Right, they just ask their employees to guess where the package is and where it's going. How stupid do you think we are? I'm the customer who staggers in a minute before closing carrying a giant heavy box and flustered after missing a turn in the dark and having to find my way. While his crew was vacuuming and putting things away, John (the boss) stepped up and handled a rather complicated RMA repair return calmly and smoothly like he had all the time in the world. The store is tidy and well organized and the young crew snaps-to at John's directions (someone came in after me). I looked at a Gary Larson cartoon calendar while he went through a focused logical progression of steps, confirmations and checks that had me feeling calm and secure. John is professional but unlike other UPS stores I've used where I always feel like I'm intruding or doing something wrong, he doesn't act rushed, impatient or put-out and directs his helpers to efficiently handle printing and shipping requests. In fact he took a moment to discuss the device I was returning (a battery-powered ascender for climbing rope rigging). This UPS store isn't the closest one to me but it's by far the best. There's also plenty of parking so you don't have that to worry about during a process that can take a little time to get right. read more

This place has a later drop-off than most, parking right in front, pleasant and efficient staff - and if you do find your own box and print your own labels --- drop it off and it doesn't cost a dime. I came in to this store today and an older woman was at the counter. The return slip was a bit wet because of the rain and she was extremely rude to me and acted like she wouldn't be able to send it. She was also irritated that I didn't already have the return slip in the box. I don't know what her problem was but it scanned fine. I don't think I will ever go to this location again because of how I was treated. I hope she acts a little more decently to other customers. read more

John, the owner, not only gave us the best price I could find, he got it done faster than anyone in town, and he also designed a cover for one of the books which had no cover. I got a personal mailbox (PMB) here to have more secure mail and it's totally worth it. I don't have to worry about being home to sign for packages and since it's not PO Box I can receive any type of delivery. No restrictions. Costs about $20/month and they're open until 7pm on weekdays and 5pm on Saturdays. Better hours than the PO and less money. The staff at this location is super helpful and very customer focused. I haven't used any of their other services so I can only comment on the PMB. Anytime you receive a package you are sent an email letting you know. That way I only have to go when I actually get a package. read more

Really, the only thing going for them was that they were open. After having some difficulties getting a package delivered to our house we decided to have it shipped to a pickup store. The store was supposed to call us when it had arrived. They didn't. They didn't even check the package into their system. On top of that, the two young guys working there didn't seem to care or even bother apologizing. We already felt ripped off for having to pay $5 to get a package delivered on top of all the regular shipping fees, so this didn't help. read more

I needed a notary service and help overnight documents. John and his staff were amazing, fast courteous, helpful and offer good advice.

After spending 20 min in line at the USPS in Wallingford, we find out they refuse to tape our box top for us. That wasn't the problem. My issue is that the lady at the counter just points at the wall and says: you pay for tape. We walked out and came to this UPS. I encountered the nicest man who, of course taped the box at no charge. Gave us different shipping options and was FRIENDLY THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE TRANSACTION. definitely the best mailing/shipping employees I've run across....will come back here for all mailing needs. read more

My wife and I have been going here for years, customer service used to be great and we always had a good experience here. However, it seems that things have just gone downhill the last year or so. The service was getting slower and the workers getting rude and careless in their job. The last two times I have gone ,I have ended up walking out. The first time I walked in and the lady behind the desk completely ignored me and while standing directly in front of her, at the cash register, I had to ask the man behind her if she was working or on a break. The young man said he did't know and that she must have been busy. I could plainly see that she was not busy. The young man was eager to help. This last time, today, I went in and there were two guys at the register helping customers and one worker in back that I could see. The one guy at the register told me he would b right with me and after asking for a fax cover sheet he handed one to me. I proceeded to fill the sheet out and then continued to stand in line and wait. After abt ten minutes I had still not been helped, the two workers at the register were still trying to figure out how to do their jobs, and the guy in the back was still standing around and doing nothing. I waited one more minute, then walked out. I will never go back. Good thing though, I went to the ups store by northgate mall and was helped right away by a nice and knowledgeable worker. Guess I found my new store. Here's some advice, don't go to oaktree ups unless you want slow service and rude workers. read more

I have gone to this UPS store in Oak Tree Plaza for many years. They helped me put together a family history packet last Christmas. Whenever I have a project that requires photos from the computer, decorations, poster copying, or anything I can dream up, they make it happen for me. My home printer isn't working, so I just email my letters to them so they can copy the attachment, and they copy it for me at minimal cost. This is a very convenient and reliable service. You also get an AARP discount! They are small enough to get to know you. read more
