Whenever I need to make an Amazon return drop-off, I will always drive the extra few miles to this location, strictly for the staff's friendliness and the optional self-service station. I had a rather large package to drop-off, and with an injury I have, I'm still limited on how much I can lift. I felt horrible dragging my wagon through the store and having the worker grab out this huge package for me, but he was so kind about it. The one downside to this location is the very limited parking. If you come when it's busy, you're going to be trying to find street parking on one of Shorewood's busiest streets. read more

I primarily have visited this location as a drop off spot for pre-paid and labeled packages. Service has been fine, but not particularly effusive. They don't speak much when you come in and if you want "extras" like a receipt, you often have to ask for it. Still, they have convenient hours and a decent amount of parking. Despite that, there is almost always some person who doesn't understand basic parking courtesy and manages to suck up two spots or park so close you can't open your car door. This is not the fault of the store - just people being completely self involved. I'd feel better if they had one or two more lights in the lot at night. read more

I've used this store for years. Yes parking is tight but it turns over quickly. I read the reviews and wonder if the low reviews were mistakenly meant for another store. I've never had a problem here. I have had frustrating moments with some difficult returns, but those were things between me and the store I was returning items to - absolutely not the fault of the UPS store. I've certainly never had rude treatment or difficult staff. I think charging for printing labels is appropriate - after all I could have printed it myself at home. Yes there are lines sometimes! They're busy and careful! My only problem is that the new design should have created a flat space for preparing returns - maybe that can still happen! read more

I'm surprised by the reviews on this UPS location. I go here for returns and to drop off U.S. Mail (they now have a mailbox inside) and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. The process for returns is easy and usually quick. My only complaint would be the parking lot isn't that big but I can appreciate there is a parking lot and I haven't had a problem getting a space when I need one. read more

We wanted to have a document written in a foreign language notarized. Since we live in Shorewood, the UPS store on Oakland Avenue was an obvious choice, mainly because we had a positive experience with the same matter previously. The only thing we needed was for a notary to confirm that my wife had signed the document in front of him after being correctly identified. Upon our arrival at the scheduled time, the store manager, Michael Ganley, told us that he couldn't notarize the document that he couldn't read. He told us that no one in Wisconsin would notarize the document unless we provided the translation. We offered to insert the text of our document in Google Translate in front of him so he could read it, but he insisted that he needed it on paper. We had to go home, translate the document, and go back. I checked the Wisconsin Legislature 140.02 and found that there is no requirement of any kind to provide the translation if only the acknowledgment of signature is needed. When we came back, I told Mr. Ganley about the legal requirements in Wisconsin, and he instantly changed his statement to say that it was a UPS regulation that he had to obey. When I insisted that they had to follow the law, he told me they were a private business and could do as they wanted. He also told us that he could refuse to notarize the document. On my direct question to state the reason for refusal, he didn't provide any answer. My wife signed both documents to cut unnecessary delay, and Mr. Ganley glanced over them, stamped, and signed them. He charged us just for the one copy written in a foreign language. We took both documents with us. There is no record of any kind (charge for two documents, second document held by a notary) that the translation was needed and provided, which means that either Mr. Ganley didn't know his job or he discriminated against us because of the foreign language of the document. Whichever might be the cause, I don't recommend this store for notarizing purposes. read more

Took a package back and was told to email label, I had problems trying to do it and thought the young lady would help me out but I figured it out myself. Wasn't very helpful and had a bad attitude like she's having a bad day. I use this ups a few times because it's close to my home and next time I'll just make sure I don't go to her. The heavy set lady on the end. Everyone else seems happy. I do hope things get better for her because we don't need that type of service doing the holiday season. Lost package. Would not help find package. Turned in insurance claim. 2months later got check. Wrong name on check. Will never go to this store again. Customer service was an inconvenience to them. Still No box and No check to cash. read more

I've been here three times to just drop off packages that already had a label, pretty basic. The employees seemed nice enough and I've only had to wait in line once. Their parking lot is a nightmare so I'd recommend parking on the street if you can. read more

Staff was friendly, but when I go to a place like this, I am looking to get in, get what I need done and get out. The folks working here moved with zero sense of urgency, so the experience took 3x longer than it should have. Expensive and Rude Employees I visited this location to ship a package. I needed to print my shipping label, and thought this would be an easy affair. I have visited other UPS franchises, and they have been willing to print labels at very low costs. This place wanted to charge me 3.00 to print it! I told them I though this was expensive, and both the employee and franchise owner became rude and dismissive. I worked in retail for many years, and never would have treated a customer the way they did. I left without printing it. I went to Kinkos, paid 15 cents to have them print the label, and dropped the package off at a nearby UPS pickup point. read more

I have been a box owner at this location for four years. When my box renewal came up a few months ago I prepaid for 1 year. Unfortunately, I have to move due to business and I ask for a 6 month refund of the box fees I prepaid since I would be moving out of the area. The Owner/Manager refused to refund any portion of my prepaid box fees. I have used this location for all of my shipping needs for the past four years, but my overall patronage and customer loyalty was of no consequence to the owner. I would not recommend prepaying for mail box fees beyond the minimum six month requirement. Disappointed. read more

This franchise barely rates a single "*." My sister brought in an extremely lightweight Halloween decoration to be shipped to me on East Coast. I wasn't able to ship it from Door County. They couldn't give her estimate till they'd measured it for size of carton. When she returned for estimate, it was already in a HUGE carton, double boxed, & expected me to fork over $122! This wasn't the Mona Lisa or fine china. It was a nylon witch weighed about 3/4's of a pound. They got really unhinged & demanded $25 for their labor & time. If they had waited for customer to return for estimate & it was agreeable, then you pack it in a flattened carton & tape the sides. I'm sorry but that is not how you make a sale. You tell customer first the cost & proceed from there. Lesson learned...,I doubt it! read more

I went in to get a 5 page document printed in color. After it was printed, I saw that the formatting was way off (i.e. couldn't read the doc) due to a mac/pc issue. The employee told me I'd still have to pay for the print job even though it was in no way usable. Only 3 bucks but I thought it was pretty cheap. I won't be going back there. read more

First off, I'd like to state that I ship a lot of stuff. For work and for personal reasons. For work I am forced to use Fedex but for all my personal shipping needs I always go to this UPS Store. This location is really convenient since they're right on Oakland so you'll find it a short distance from Riverwest, the East Side, Shorewood, or Whitefish Bay.They do USPS and UPS labels and will tell you both prices and which is the cheapest/fastest option. As a UPS store, they'll package your stuff up for you and nothing that I've sent through them has ever arrived damaged. I've printed stuff there before too. It's the trust policy so you can either do it yourself and tell them how many you have or if you're feeling lazy you can get them to do it for you with like a few cents extra. I appreciate that they can just get straight to business and cut it out with all the pandering chitchat that's so common these days. Particularly when you're in a hurry and just want to ship things and get on with your day. read more
