Driver never attempted to knock or ring my doorbell that HAS A CAMERA but stuck a note on my door saying that were unable to contact anyone after I arranged for someone to be there during the delivery time. Tried to call multiple times so I could go and pick up the package and received a busy signal like the phone was left off the hook. Absolutely horrible service. read more

Drop package off at store at 8:50am, get receipt, leave. Package does not show anything other than label created until 7:00pm. Next update is damage report All merchandise is missing and the empty carton was discarded. UPS will notify the sender. Basically when they decided to scan it in it suddenly dematerialized ?? no contents, no more box, no nothing.... WTF. And of course these people don't seem to understand the concept of a phone. I've never in my life dealt with such complete idiocracy and a complete lack of care for anything. I do understand belts will eat packages but in this case since it never left the store I'm 99% sure the person just stole it and threw away the box. I recommend shipping from a different store. I do believe this experience took 10 years off my life due to stress. read more

UPDATE: After posting my original review on July 3, 2024, I emailed both Store #2970 and Corporate Customer Service. The response I received from UPS store #2970 earlier today is as follows: "Okay thank you for telling me have a good day and sorry that happened." That is what I would call a "I do not care what happened. I am not going to take your issue seriously. I am only responding because a Corporate has assigned a Case Number, and I can say I addressed the issue" response. Since UPS stores are independently owned franchises, I seriously question whether the franchise owner actually responsed to my review or did a store employee respond. I will go out of my way to use location in Kanawha City. Obviously, the South Charleston store do not appreciate my business and others who have taken the time to post a review pointing out their poor experiences with UPS Store #2970. read more

Always a miserable experience in a monopolized radius. Just a few percentage points of cheer and warm welcoming would go a long way. If there was any other option Closer to me, I would immediately take it and never come back to this location. read more

I have used this UPS store a few times and I would gladly drive further to get to this store if I needed to. They are fast, friendly and helpful. I can literally take my package to them without even boxing it up or putting a package on it and they happily take it and take care of the rest. So easy. Very appreciated. read more

Drivers can be lazy. I've had about 10 packages perfectly delivered over the past year. They never knock on the door -they just leave the package on the porch since no signature is required. No problem. Yesterday I was to have a laptop delivered which requires a signature. I was home all day. I never heard a knock on the door or the doorbell ring. I check outside to see if maybe they just dropped it off anyway. There was a notice saying they attempted delivery around 4pm. I NEVER get deliveries that early. Also, there was another box sitting out there from UPS, but that required no signature. The slip tells me to expect a delivery today between 2 and 5pm. I'm home and of course I don't hear anything. This time they didn't even bother to leave a slip. I had to check online to find out that they supposedly attempted to deliver. I called to 800 number and can't get a human to talk to. I wanted to tell them to just let me pick it up but they don't give me that option. Tomorrow is the final delivery attempt and I refuse to get my hopes up. I bet they won't even ride past here. I don't know what is so much more difficult about knocking on a door and having someone sign a damn clipboard. read more

I used to have no problem with UPS. My brother would order stuff and I would go to his house to be there while he was at work to get the package and take it inside. They became very undependable. Once I saw them drive by his house but did not stop with the package. Then they lied and said they attempted delivery. Now at my home, I didn't use to have problems, but lately I have. The driver will stop in front of my apartment, sit there a minute, then drive off. Then I get a message saying they were unable to deliver. This has happened repeatedly. That means I have to go to this particular store to pick up the package the next day...they don't even pretend to attempt delivery again. But THIS store...I will call to see if my package has been delivered there yet so I can pick it up and they are extremely rude every time. I hate having to go there. You cannot call the local distribution center. You call the corporation number. If you stay on there long enough you can eventually talk to a person. They listen to you complaint and say they will notify the local distribution center, but nothing changes. I didn't use to have these problems. I don't know if it is a new driver that doesn't want o be bothered coming in my building or what but I do not even want to order anything if I know it is coming from UPS. Because I know I will have to come to this store to pick it up. read more

Have had several items never delivered in the past and just recently, call to ask for help and no one even answers the phone, then if I do eventually I'm met with short, snotty answers blaming me. Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The mail lady is nice enough but she's so afraid of human contact that I literally had to chase her down the road to get my package! Im not even gonna waste my time rating UPS I wasted my whole day waiting for a package that was already two days late and at the end of the day was told my package was undeliverable and I literally sat at my window all day no joke and the dude didn't attempt to deliver it then called over 13 times and after being hung up on numerous times and even talking with the supervisor in a conference call they led me to believe they'd be taking action and assured me the driver would attempt to deliver again when how could her try again when he couldn't even make the first attempt then they wanna charge me $7.99 for me to waste my gas driving all the way to the facility to pick it up myself like who seriously pays someone else to do their job for them this ups is the most incompetent rude and disrespectful shipping company I've ever felt with and to top it all I called them a max of twenty times or more taking every suggested action only to find out they never did their part and put the plans into action If I could I'd never Ever! Use UPS EVER AGAIN! I've had items shipped with ups more times than I can count an it's been this exact same issue with every package hands down the worst delivery service ever! Horrible little man named Josh works there says he is a manager. He not only took my package but what should have been a few days has taken 2 weeks and it has not arrived at its destination. He hangs up on me twice and made snide remarks. I email customer concern and they tell me that it is a franchise so really they can put any inept dolt in front of the counter. UPS is dissapointing. I'm not sure why, but when I arrived to the store today at 7:30 am, the store still had not been opened. The door sign clearly read that the store opens at 7 am on weekdays, and there was a good amount if patrons waiting outside for the store to open. Hopefully everything was fine with the employee that usually runs this place in the mornings, but there should have been a back up plan to implement for the store in a time like this. Some packages (such as those with biological matter for medical testing) are time sensitive. Huge inconvenience to find another way to ship said package. read more

I was in town from California and had to ship a large trunk, packed full, back home. After being turned away from two Fed Ex shipping locations, I stopped at this UPS store. Matt Estill (the manager) was very helpful and found a way to ship such a large heavy package at an affordable price. He took the time to work up several shipping and packaging options, and we received the package ON TIME, PACKAGED BEAUTIFULLY, IN PERFECT CONDITION. Amazing service! read more
