I like that out of around 300 packages they only lost one (a product that was a part of the package) unlike my previous po box where out of 100 packages at least 3 would go missing hoping I wouldn't notice. What made me give 2 Star is an attitude of one of the male assistants. He on purpose put me down in front the whole line of customers trying to make it seem like I tried not to pay overage fees ($3! ). When I walk to po box from I don't take my bag with wallet in it because one time I was robbed while walking with purse and I have ptsd from it. so I used to put the extra fees on my tab then pay next time when I drove and had my bag with me and noone ever said it was a problem. That day all of a sudden that man said it doesn't work like that. He sounded very annoyed. He said that I couldn't take my packages and everything he said was hinting that I was trying not to pay. I make $200 per hour as an influencer so it would be unlikely. What is likely is that that man was trying to feel more domineering by trying to put down a woman via being in charge of the Ups shop. Everytime he would give me packages he looked displeased for whatever reason but that day was when he let it out. I get a lot of products sent to me by the brands. I work 7 days a week to be successful at what I do. If that employee finds it triggering he might want to work at a career upgrade i nsteaf of belittling female customers. read more

I paid about $200 to have a package overnighted from this location. The following day, I got a bit nervous when the tracking information still had not updated on UPS' website. Two days after drop off, I called the location and asked what was going on. The store associate had no idea why the system had not updated but admitted that delivery was now late and that I would be entitled to a refund after delivery completed. Finally, late that day, the status updated and the package was delivered (at least one day late). The following day, I called the local location to request the refund due to the late recovery. The store associate told me it would take several weeks to process, and that I should check back in several weeks if a payment was not received. Several weeks later, I emailed the store manager to request an update on the refund. He said all refund requests must be made within 15 days and it was too late and they had no record of my request. So to recap a) I was told to request a refund, b) I requested a refund the very next day *and was told to check back in several weeks* and c) after several weeks, I was told it was too late to get a refund. I like UPS, but do not use this UPS location. It's either poorly run or the staff lie. read more

What I've experience for an ENTIRE MONTH will have you flabbergasted! I made a purchased & the UPS DRIVER LIED about making the delivery. NEVER MADE THE DELIVERY and LIED & stated the package was in a LOCKER. The property DO NOT have lockers AT ALL. I've been calling for WEEKS about my package & UPS had the audacity to tell the shipper the package was delivered so they closed the investigation. I have stopped by this location of UPS a few times now. Most of my visits have been to drop off Amazon return boxes. The wait generally has been 3-5 minutes before I can hand over the package and get a shipping receipt. But, the other day, I had to mail a letter to an overseas destination. I waited in line for over 5 minutes to be serviced. There was just one person ahead of me. There were 2 UPS employees but the second person was walking around doing busy work. I wanted to know the price before I paid and the person helping me begrudgingly said it would cost $98.xx to ship the 1 page letter! I don't know if that is the standard price for UPS or if this was a marked up cost offered at this location, but $98 for shipping a 1 page document does sound ridiculous to me! Needless to say, I did not carry out my business there, but rather went to USPS a couple of blocks down from this UPS location. read more

In contrast to some other UPS Stores I've been to - this one is REALLY good. It's run by a very friendly Korean couple - it's clear they take great pride in their business and customer service. I rented a mailbox from this UPS store for about 2 years after getting fed up with another UPS Store. During that time, the UPS Store at 2100 M Street never lost a single package, they were always courteous, professional, and helpful. The husband is kind of quiet and smiles all the time, the wife pretends to be very grumpy - but they are both SUPER nice. I was a few days late with my payment a couple of times - or left a package longer than 3 days...they never charged me a penalty though they could have. Let's be honest, the only reason UPS is in business is because Amazon almost exclusively uses UPS. The franchise owners don't seem to appreciate that UPS would probably not even remain in business if Amazon stopped their business with them. So when you walk into this store with a prepaid return label from Amazon and the store owner is so upset that he has to deal with you it baffles me. Anyways this franchise owner has figured out a strategy, he will try and cheat you and take money from you in several creative ways. "Your package is not packed properly, we can repack for $20". " $2.50 for tape". I am not sure how UPS allows this. Its terrible for their brand. The Fedex store down the road is so much better. Please save yourself, don't go here unless you really need to. These guys are having a laugh. To ship a computer via ground shipping to Tennessee, they tried to charge me nearly $250. After complaining that that was exorbitant, the man behind the counter offered me a 'discount', and brought the price down to the still stately sum of $200. Upon inspection of the receipt later, I found that they were charging me over $50 for the box and peanuts, as well as $35 in labor. Call me naive, but $80 to place something in a box and cover it in styrofoam seems a bit excessive. And $120 to ship, also seems rather high. Needless to say, it will be a desperate day before I give these guys any more of my business. read more

Avoid this location at all costs! I had to make an Amazon return, and needed a few strips of packing tape to ship out my package, and they made me buy a FULL role for $6. What kind of customer service is this? I used what would equate to $0.02 worth of tape for them, and they made me buy a full roll. I'm all for helping business and not having people take advantage, but really, you can't allow your customers to use a minuscule amount of tape without having them buy an unnecessary full roll? I have been to several other UPS locations in California, and not once was I forced to buy a full roll of tape. With all the other negative reviews, I'm surprised this location is still in business. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I printed one piece of paper on my own paper and it cost $4! I told them I needed to print something on paper that I brought, and that I had the document saved on my USB drive. They said no problem and told me to use the computer. I used it for probably 30 seconds, and they never said it costs a fee to use the computer! They tried to charge over $20 to mail this one piece of paper two states away, even when I said I had no time constraints. I did not ship with them. I went to usps and paid $2. Don't let them rip you off. Go to fed ex and usps. It costs $1/paper for the first 5 pages you print (crazy!) And $3 for the first 3 min on the computer. I went in yesterday to mail an envelope with USPS Priority Mail and was told it would be $21.95 - I declined and went to the post office (less convenient which is why I didn't go there in the first place) and was charged only $7.30 for the same Priority Mail service! Shout out to Tim from the UPS store for being the only notary to show up to work during this dreary-rainy day in the Georgetown/ West End today. Seriously. I needed some surprise paperwork notarized and I needed it fast. After calling numerous other stores and banks, The UPS store on 21st and M was the closest location with a notary in the building and actually working. Tim was super friendly and very helpful. UPS even had a fax machine and faxed my paperwork over (for a fee of course). Considering no one this century uses faxes or notaries, this was a one stop shop and I was super thrilled to have all my needs met quick and efficiently. Thanks again, Tim! read more

The girl working the register was too unintelligent to accurately convey to the customer something as simple as the price of stamps. Then, when the customer asked for a refund because the price had been conveyed incorrectly, the store was unable to issue a refund because they claimed their computer system couldn't refund a debit card, and they had no cash on hand at the store. I purchased a shipping label to mail my passport to NYC and after UPS lost the passport and visa, the store refused to reimburse me for the $1000 I incurred replacing all my documents. They pointed the finger at UPS corporate and UPS corporate pointed the finger at the store and at the end of the day it is the customer that ended paying for their mistakes. You won't find the long lines or incoherent signage of the U.S. Postal Service here, nor will you encounter the impersonal and sometimes rude service of FedEx locations. It's almost as simple as it can be: drop off a package, fill out the shipment form, and pay. They'll pack and ship for you. I've used this location 10 times or so. It's clean and well organized. However, these people aren't very intelligent business people and their customer service doesn't compare to other UPS stores, and specifically to the one on Wisconsin Ave. Today instead of taping shut my box as they do on Wisconsin Ave, they wanted me to buy a $5 roll of packing tape (at the UPS store on Wisconsin Ave they'd tape you to the ceiling if it made you happy. You can practically hear the tape whizzing off of the rolls in Tenley circle, from the Wisonsin Ave UPS store). I understand the stores make money when we buy things and no money when we use a prepaid package. And I have in fact bought shipping stuff from this M st store before: But forcing me to purchase $5 of tape to close my package which cost a bit over twice that to send, is planting bad seed in infertile soil: I'm not going back except to drop off other taped up prepaids. So just to take a moral stand, I left and walked to walgreens on M and bought the tape there. Then I taped it all up including the label, went back to the store, dropped it off, told them I wouldn't be buying anything there anymore. and walked out. read more

Terribly greedy franchise. I wanted to print 2 color pages from a flash drive. The guy walked over to "help", and stuck the flash drive in the big color printer/copier, then hit print. I go to pay for these 2 sheets of paper, and the bill is $5.01. There's a $3.99 digital fee. After asking how he could charge that much for 2 sheets of paper and zero effort, and getting no real answer, I paid. This is the 2nd time to this location, the first was a failed ability for them to fax a letter for me (which was quickly and easily done by another store). The clerk was on the phone jibberjabbing the entire time, and I had to actually wait 15 minutes for the notary to get there from an errand, but it was $3 and it worked out. I had to notarize a document in the last minute and found this great place. Very clean and in order. The service was outstanding, I was quickly helped by the owner and he had me in-and-out of there in 5 minutes flat. And the cost of getting the document notarized was also cheaper than most places - I got it for $5. read more

I would give them a zero star if possible. Staff there is very rude. I walked in after seeing that they also provide USPS service, which I also confirmed with the staff. I told the lady that I just wanted to use the regular USPS service to mail my package to North Carolina (the package is less than 3lb by the way), and there is no rush. She told me the lowest cost would be $27. I just couldn't believe what I heard. Seeing my surprising look, the lady literally grabbed the sheet she passed to me earlier, threw it away (because I already wrote my name on it), said: "you can go to a USPS store and there are more choices", and walked away. I later mailed my package at a USPS store for less than $8. Just don't understand why people can be so rude. As a service provider, you have all your rights to charge any unreasonably high price. But as a customer, I also have my rights to be treated politely and, at least, understand what I am charged for before I make a decision. From the earlier reviews, I see that I am not the first one they tried to overcharge. Save your money to go somewhere else! read more

Went in the morning and it wasn't crowded and Tim was incredibly efficient and helpful. However, I'm just so appalled that they charge you $2.50 if you come in to drop off a box and it isn't taped up already - so literally the charge is just for the two seconds it takes to tape up a small box. I'm from out of town and this is my first time at a UPS in DC, but I have never seen any other UPS charge so something so basic.
