Before I begin, I have NEVER left a review on here because I understand everyone has an off day from time to time, but this was beyond excusable. The Associate was on their personal phone the entire time and when I told them I had an Amazon return they completely disengaged. I had a total of 8 items that were in four shipments originally (that's Amazon for you). I scanned each QR code but the receipt they gave me only accounted for 7 items in the four shipments. When I asked them to kindly double-check, they mentioned one was grouped into another label and the everything was OK. I reached out to Amazon and they've confirmed that only 7 items have been successfully returned. Again I know everyone (myself included) has an off day, but the complete disengagement and lack of any empathy was pretty unremarkable. read more

I come here to ship large items during work hours and am surprised to see the number of reviews saying they have had bad customer experiences, but I suppose I'm not surprised, because none of these people actually did business with this store, and only used it as a dumping ground for their Amazon returns. Having to ship large packages for business conferences on a fairly regular basis, this store has made the process incredibly easy and hassle-free; The staff is knowledgeable regarding customs duties and the nuances around the different requirements for the countries and even make the effort of coming out to help bring the larger items into the store. Great place if you intend to actually give them business, rather than enter their store with a overreaching sense of entitlement expecting concierge service for a third party Amazon return. read more

This location is supposed to open at 830AM. At 850AM it still wasn't open, so I waited nearby until I saw someone unlock the store. Even then I waited a few minutes, before entering the store. He never acknowledged me the late opening. I then asked if there was any tape I could use. He responded quite rudely, so I ended up leaving without doing what I came to do. I definitely will avoid this location going forward. read more

I came to the UPS Store on 1030 15th St NW because earlier in the week I had been told by my credit union's main office that my branch had a notary public, so I made an appointment. Right before my appointment the branch called me to tell me that none of their notarys had current licenses. Being very upset, I got to work trying to find a notary near where I worked. The UPS store on 15th street had the most availability, so I went with that one. When I got there, Don was super friendly and opened the door for me. It turned out he was the notary public for this store and was able to see me right away and was extremely efficient. The price was $10 which is very affordable. I am very grateful for UPS for providing this service and for Don's excellent customer service. read more

Too SLOW...they don't know anything about the business and act as if they're doing GREAT

I woukd give zero stars if I could. Every other UPS store I've gone to has had exceptional service, friendly, efficient, helpful, informative. The young man at this location was rude, unhelpful, incommunicative and just plain lazy. First- without even asking me what I needed, he told me to dump my packages in the blue bin. I told him I needed a receipt. He vaguely pointed to a scanner which I had never had to use before. The scanner wasn't immediately scanning the bar code. So he barked at me, "THE LARGE BAR CODE!" As far as I could tell, that's what I was doing. He repeatedly said this. so then I tried to hand him the scanner and asked him to do it. He responded, "YOU ARE THE ONE WHO WANTS THE RECEIPT!". This person clearly does not want to do his job. An automated teller would be better than this person. read more

I've had a mailbox at this UPS store for the last 10 years, and I can't thank the staff enough for their exceptional service. They truly go above and beyond by checking my mail, forwarding packages to wherever I am in the world, and even locating my packages when there were issues. A few tips for sending a package to the UPS store address: 1. Open a package/mailbox account to use the address to receive your package. 2. If you have an account with My Choice, you can also use the address to send packages. 3. Alternatively, ask for permission in advance to use their address for your package (this may incur a fee). If you don't use any of these methods, your package will be returned to the sender by default. I hope my experience helps others who want to use The UPS Store for receiving packages. I felt compelled to write this because I witnessed a woman harassing the staff, making unreasonable demands and using her race to unjustly criticize them. read more

Another terrible experience with the incredibly unprofessional so-called manager and his rude, unacceptable behavior. Upon entering, I joined the line behind another customer already waiting. The rep on duty neither greeted us nor acknowledged our presence at any point. Instead, he spent the first 5-10 minutes staring at a computer without saying a word. When a third customer entered, he finally said, "I am taking care of something," but did so without making eye contact or offering an apology for the delay. After about 15 minutes, the rep began assisting the customer ahead of me, who was seeking printing services. When it was finally my turn, he spoke to me in an aggressive tone, w/o even looking at me, and instructed me to place my package in a box by the counter that was full. When I asked for a receipt, he declined. When I expressed my concern, he became defensive and yelled, "I am the manager, we don't print receipts, take a picture if you want." As a result, I left with my package and will not return to this location. The store is a complete mess--disorganized and filled with a terrible smell. read more

I walked in at 3 in the afternoon and there was no one there. I heard nothing and looked around and then said "hello?" I repeated myself three or four times and finally someone said "yeah." I waited a few more min and a young guy finally came out from the back. I said I would like to get a receipt for the packages I intended to drop off. He pointed to a scanner. So I tried the scanner and he said I was doing it wrong. I tried again and he said you're still doing it wrong. So I said "look, I don't work here could you please help me?" and he said he didn't know why I needed a receipt. I don't think it is out of the question to ask for a receipt for returns. He was incredibly rude. My friends even told me never to go to that store because the guy that works there is so RUDE. It was a horrible experience. read more

My son and I went there to mail packages. The manager was clearly busy dealing with a phone call and printing a large volume of documents for a customer. He helped us and another customer all while on the phone, even continued his great customer service while being yelled at by an angry customer. This store is conveniently located downtown which is the main reason that I came in here this morning. Little did I know that I wasn't the only person with the same idea, because there was a line of about four customers. I needed to send out a package and also print out a document from my thumb drive. The single copier machine that was available didn't appear to have a jack to insert the USB thumb drive, so I patiently waited to ask the employee for assistance. While I was waiting, I then noticed the self serve computer that they rent by the minute. The instructions indicated that the customer should utilize the copier at their own risk, that there are no refunds, and if you need assistance there would be a service charge for that. Right off the bat I could see that the price to use the computer was outrageous. I figured that if I had a question a out the copier that they would want to charge me for that as well. I got tired of standing in line, and there didn't appear to be much progress with the employee so I bolted. read more

I have learn to simply expect less than stellar customer service in the DMV area and today's visit to this location did not disappoint. When I arrived, the retail agent was standing near the front entrance smoking a cigarette. Customers should not have to walk through a cloud of second-hand smoke from staff to enter this establishment. Once inside he asked if I was shipping the item I was holding. Told him yes and I sent a label to the store's email address before arriving. His response before checking the inbox, "I ain't got no email from you I just checked it. where did you send it to? Cauz I ain't go no email from you." I checked my sent folder from my phone and called out the store's email. He ask my name and told me it's .20 cents per copy. From that point on, no apology and he seemed to be in his feelings, maybe because he was wrong wrong wrong!!! Is this how he speaks to all customers at this location in the heart of downtown DC? If so, shame on management for not providing adequate customer service training to their staff. He probably needs ongoing customer service training. I didn't meet his energy today for fear of my package not reaching it's destination. read more

I went to this store to drop off a return package on 1/11/24 at 10:30am. There was only one gentleman working, so if the manager wants to do some research, it should be easy. Hopefully they will also have security videos to view. When I arrived, there was a customer being helped at the counter. I wanted a drop off receipt (since the last time I dropped off an item at this UPS Store, it was not scanned), so I patiently waited in line. The worker asked me if I had an Amazon return and I said no. He asked me if I wanted a receipt and I said yes. He then rudely said something like, "it's a waste of time and paper, just so you know". I nicely responded, "I'm OK" and remained in line. Then, a woman of a different ethnic race from myself entered the store and got in line behind me. After a few minutes, the worker asked her if she had an Amazon return, and that she should just drop it off in the blue bin. She responded "no I need to print out a label", and he had her immediately go in front of me, scan her item, and he printed out a label for her package. This whole time, I'm still standing in the same first position of the line holding my return package. Even the white woman who went in front of me seemed surprised that she seemed to have just jumped in front of me in the "line". After the couple in front of me was done many, many minutes later, the worker called me to the counter to finally help me with my package. I was nice and courteous to the worker, which was much more than the rude and racist treatment that I got at this UPS Store. read more

I was walking home after a bad experience at another UPS Store and happened to stumble across this one. I asked the same question if they could print out a mailing label for me which he said he could for &.25, which is WAY more reasonable, unlike the other store who wanted me to pay $3.50. Anyway, positive stars for not trying to over charge me, but minus some stars for the pretty poor customer service overall. He seemed like he was angry or something. Service was so slow and the place was a mess. I had a pre paid packing slip all printed out and just needed to buy a box for my item but there was 1 person in front of me with the world's most complicated order. I waited 15 minutes and then there was an issue with her package so while the UPS guy was helping me, he had to stop and attend to the previous customer again. All in all a really frustrating experience and I'll do my best to avoid having to use UPS for anything other than drop off. read more

If I could give 5 negative stars I would. Be very careful here. They were supposed to send my passport as fast as possible to Germany, I'm a US citizen abroad, and needed a visa processed in DC and it could only be done in DC. They sold my father a fake shipment that was not what he asked for and doesn't exist in the USPS system. They may actually have stolen my passport, even their corporate office agrees. Also, Leslie the manager is not cooperating to tell me just where my passport is. They've ruined my vacation and lost me a lot of money not to mention seeing a good friend. I had to self start, but the woman who assisted me was very helpful. She recommended I go to the post office to save about $15. Totally worth it in my eyes. They do need to work on recognizing patrons as they come in. They should say hello if the other worker is busy with a guest and quit puttering around unnecessarily when someone walks trough the door. I did sign up in Spring of 2009. UPS Store has promised to improve their service, and because they keep promising to do so, and because it would cost me several thousand dollars to change my address--new business cards, notifying dozens of courts with filings (some of which requires us to pay lawyers to do so), etc.--without much promise that another mail service would be better, I have not done so as of yet. Since my last review, they've been apologetic. After two months of no mistakes, they asked me to take the review down. And admittedly, they don't seem to be mailing anything to the wrong forwarding address any more, but who knows what is being put in the wrong box that we never get. So I figured I'd give them another few months and if they kept the streak up, I'd honor their request. But in the last six weeks, they've billed the wrong credit card six times. On July 17, they "tested" the credit card by billing it, and then, instead of reversing the charges, billed it a second time, and six phone calls and three emails later still haven't fixed it yet because they incorrectly tell me and my assistant that it's taken care of when it isn't. (Below they claim that these charges were for one cent. This is a lie.) They billed the wrong credit card again two weeks ago, and then only reversed part of the charges. We called a week ago to find out whether we received an express-mail package; indeed, we had. A week later, we still don't have it. We call again today, and they say they had already shipped it--and then I get a notification from my credit-card company that they billed the wrong card again today, meaning that they *lied* to us and sat on an express-mail for a week. We are finally changing our address--I've already changed one of the two addresses because it was clear the store couldn't handle the administrative burden of two separate accounts. We will renew the other mailbox one more time to catch any stragglers who we accidentally fail to notify, but that's out of business necessity rather than satisfaction with the service. You can tell the lack of service by the response left to my complaint. read more

My deepest regret for not yelping sooner, but they never cease to amaze me! Over the years, these people have been the only consistent relationship I've had since I have had a mailbox at the location of 1718 M St NW DC 20036. I used to go in about once or twice a week since all of my family and close friends live out of state. It's almost like having them as my co-workers since they remember what I need each time and I can ask them the best way to get my package sent, which if you've been to the post office you'd know, is not easy to understand. I think I've used about every service task from them over the years lol. I am here more often that I should be admitting to the vast expanse of the internet. A few times a month, likely much more, I'm held up in Fed Ex, Kinko's, or UPS. Either place, I scan, copy, print and fax a ton of documents at this location, but I get UPS because it is the lesser cost and is better insured shipping label, at no charge to me. I sell things on ebay often and found that shipping anywhere in U.S. (ground) is the cheapest (or more so than not) with all the guarantees in case something doesn't work out. On the other hand, international packages are awfully expensive everywhere, so I've stopped selling out of the U.S. on ebay. If I make a sale to Germany, I take it to this store because they know how to work the system for me . In and out with the swiftness, I'm ready to carry on my day sans the usual disgruntled temperament associated with such mundane activities. When I walk into this store, im all business; which usually means skip the "generic service greeting" and let's get my package shipped. I come here because their staff gets that, without the ticketing attitude of the DMV or post office, which is actually much closer to me. Five stars for the customer-service, three stars for the print ordering, four and a half stars for the shipping. Overall 4.5 NOTE: The woman that actually does the notaries is not always there so make sure you call first before you show up. read more

This place is terrible and should be avoided at all cost! Keep in mind, I rarely leave a bad review on yelp. I needed to overnight a wedding ring with insurance. They charged me $100 for the overnight and an extra $100 as a service charge. I was shocked but had no choice, since it was on a deadline. When I went to ups.com to manually create a shipping label to my specification, I noticed the charge was only $100, INCLUDING the insurance, dimensions, and weight of my box. When I went back to the store to ask why there was a "service charge", he didn't give a good reason and refused to refund. I was scammed and cheated into paying twice what I should have. Never mind that their business hours posted both on the UPS website AND the storefront itself says 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM Monday through Friday. Next time, I won't waste the trip coming here. I have had decent experiences here up until today when I asked what the additional charge on my receipt was and she told me 'I should have known that there would be a charge for her putting the item in the box I bought.' She wanted to put more bubble wrap on it so I asked how much it was and she said .80 cents so that is all I expected to see on my receipt. Instead there was an additional few dollars which I understand is not a lot but how she handled my questions was the problem. She told me I should have known and should have asked,which I did! I went into the store for material binding for class. The gentleman behind the counter was very nice and detailed. I was able to get everything done quick and timely for class. He also gave me the student discount for binding. I am not sure if this discount extend to other services. Should I need future binding... I will check out this location. read more

Quick, best value, knowledgeable staff. I needed to send over an antique along with some of our production equipment in a hurry and they were able to do all the work for me. Box, tape, ship, go - THATS WHAT U CALL SERVICE! Unlike the post office, they staff was very accommodating and courteous, but the BIGGEST reason I come here is because I don't have to deal with the long lines at the post office which can take 25 minutes for a routine send and catch government employee attitude. I have to admit, I like most Americans, do not understand how the mailing system works, just when it needs to be there. I just ask about the best way to send, and have them expense my company's credit card. Done and done. read more
