They lost a $220 jacket of mine that was supposed to be shipped back for return. Always get a label from them. Cannot trust.

I had a pallet to ship from a residence to a business- FedEx, Old Dominion were a nightmare to deal with. The staff at this UPS store provided a pickup within 24 hours. They came to my house, we filled out a little paperwork and off it went. Can't thank these guys enough. The other companies were aimless, and unhelpful. They will literally recommend options that make their own work harder or extend hours to be helpful. And I've taken them up on it and they follow through with expertise. Made an appointment online for a notary, received a confirmation email and then a reminder day of the appt. Showed up for my appt and they told me the notary wasn't there and "only comes in Tuesdays & Wednesdays." Yet I was able to make an appt for another day? They didn't call to cancel my appt. One team member was apologetic and the other guy (maybe manger) did not care at all that I wasted my team driving to an appt that they had no chance of fulfilling. read more

Arrogant franchisee who is rude and has no follow up. Brutal and grossly overpriced please stay away! Go USPS! Zero follow up on a package lost in Addison, IL with no one to check on why. Showed up yesterday when it was due last Saturday. Asked for a refund and was told to read the fine print, no guarantees on anything but next day and hung up on me. Everytime I scan something at this Wilmette UPS, and ask that it will be sent to my email, its takes 4-5 hours to get the email.. So ridiculous!!! I will never use this place again!!! When you call the phone number listed on their receipt, the mail box is full and the recording tells you to "hang up." This location gives UPS franchises everywhere a bad name. And how can scanning 2 pages cost $4.98? Absurd... especially since I waited 5 hours the scan. read more

I should've known before I even got there and had to talk to 3 different people on the phone to see if the notary was there and they would do it. Over the phone, they declined to notarize a document because 'we don't notarize documents that require a witness'. (I made clear that we would bring the witness.) Another UPS store did it without demur, so this was an arbitrary 'rule' the Wilmette UPS made up. Now it is true that Illinois limits the fee for notaries to $1/signature, so doing this is a pain for very little gain. But if UPS voluntarily chooses to offer the service, they should offer a consistent and reliable service, not one that depends on the whim of the individual. read more

Several years since my last review, but nothing has changed. Glen, the owner of this franchise, is unfriendly, unhelpful and just, generally, UN. The UPS on Central Street in Evanston will help you tape up a box-- Glen says "you need more tape, BUY IT!" Yes, I agree, this cuts into his margins, but little perks like this is also what builds a loyal clientele. I know he is bitter because he has to handle and process drop offs of packages from Apple to Zappos--- but he shouldn't take it out on potential clients. If you can travel a ¼ of a mile further, go to the UPS on Central Street in Evanston. The UPS professionals on Central Street in Evanston are helpful, friendly and not bitter. I feel sorry for Glen-- although he is fortunate he landed such a lucrative franchise. read more

I use this store to occasionally ship or buy cards. I stopped in on Saturday afternoon and had a good experience. The store all of a sudden got busy when I walked in and a mid 20s clerk who I've seen over the years gave me his usual good, friendly service while at the same time helping train a younger new employee. It seems like every other time I am in there some person walks in thinking they are in the US Postal Service and wondering why they can't get postal services. Yikes! Saturday was no exception and the clerk patiently tried to explain this is a UPS store and he recommends that she used one of their quality envelopes. I wanted to say, "if you want the uncertainty that your package/letter may or may get to its location, go to the post office on a Saturday morning and you can save $1-$2." No thanks for me, I'll use UPS for anything important and this store always gets the job done. Thank you! read more

I had a very large, very heavy box that needed to be returned to Amazon. Workers at this UPS Store were willing to walk out to my car and assist me in getting the box into the store. And they were friendly and happy to help. Five stars for saving my back and brightening my day. Thanks! read more

The staff at this store is consistently rude. When I walk in the door I know I can count on being assisted by an annoyed clerk who either hates me or hates his job. It's not just one of the employees, either. I don't recall ever being greeted with a smile-- in fact, most times I have my packages ready to ship and I pop in and out without even being acknowledged. read more

I've been to several UPS stores in the northern suburbs, and this is by far the worst. When I stopped by one morning, the man at the counter was talking on the phone to a friend, and he stayed on the phone for several minutes even though I was standing at the counter. Then he said he would not allow any sort of third-party billing and I had to pay for my shipment with my own funds. I twice asked for next-day air shipping, but I got a call later in the day saying that my shipment had been marked second-day air and I would have to read my credit card number aloud over the phone to get the right shipping. I wasn't going to do that on my cell phone. My first and last visit to this store. read more

I had to return to this store recently and was very pleased with the service. I'm not sure the name of the person who helped me but he was very pleasant and professional. That kind of customer service will definitely bring me back to that store. read more

They offer notary services, and I called to make sure the notary was working before I went. They were unable to tell me how long the notary would be there..."come right away." Weird. It apparently makes the guy very cranky to do the notary services, but if you can get past that, it's fine. read more

Lame. Apparently, a "UPS" store is not actually "UPS". Allow me to elaborate. I shipped a package via this store, no problem everything was fine. The package was set to be held at another ups facility but a mistake was made and it was sent back instead, again, fine I understand mistakes are made sometimes. The problem came when I went back to this ups store. I explained what happened to the gentleman at the desk and after about 10 minutes of explanation he told me he can't do anything about it because it was a "ups" problem and I would need to pay to have it sent out again. I found it strange I had to ask a man wearing a ups shirt working in a ups store why he couldn't help me with a ups problem. He literally told me, while standing under a banner that read ups, that they are not a ups store. That's all he said, and very rudely. So I said, " So you are just a bunch of guys shipping packages and happen to use ups to do that? Your not actually ups?" He simply responded with "exactly" I asked him if he could help me try to resolve this and he blankly stared at me and replied "1800 pick ups" which I found to be ironic in that sort of way. In the end I'm not sure why anyone would go to a store claiming to be a company and then when a problem comes up they claim to NOT be that company. It's like if you went to an Apple store for technical help and they told you "oh were not actually Apple, we just sell their devices so we can't do anything for you." Crazy. This place makes no sense. Needless to say, ups customer service was even less help and after several frustrating hours, I went to the FedEx store, where they actually work for FedEx, it was also much cheaper, and friendlier. I see no reason to go to this ups store which isn't actually ups and is, in reality, just a bunch of surely old guys shipping packages under somewhat false pretenses. read more

Wow. I had a po box for 10 years at a UPS store in another location. I loved it and relied on the staff there a great deal. At this UPS store, I shipped a few boxes at the holidays and the gentleman was not overly friendly but he was nice enough, professional and got my packages out. Today, I went there and another man was behind the desk. It was obvious that assisting me was a terrible imposition. I rely on the ups store but I don't think I can use this one again given the (lack of) service today. read more

My experience in this store how been consistently subpar. The employees are difficult, rude, and unhelpful. A company I am part uses this store at a high volume on a daily basis, solely because of the location. I have brought up switching to FedEx as a result of treatment here. This company has a house account at this store. Whenever I or anyone else arrives to ship an item they demand that we provide THE phone number on the account. Shockingly, I do not know the front desk receptionist number by heart, which is an issue for this store. Asking them to lookup the account based on other information results in something along the lines of "we can't do that." Don't have time to argue with them as it just makes an antagonizing and difficult process at this store even more difficult. Multiple times I have had to call the office, or walk back, and write down our reception number myself before returning. Do not recommend this store. read more

I've been a boxholder at this location since it started as a Mail Boxes Etc. about 20 years ago, so I'm long overdue to express my appreciation for how much they've helped me over the years. I travel a lot, and when I return, I always find my mail neatly collected and waiting. I've never had a problem with a missing package, and as a high-volume Amazon customer, trust me, I get a lot of them. I ship a lot of things, too, and my packages are always processed quickly, often with a little extra tape added just to be safe. Most important, everyone from the current owner Glenn to longtime staffers like Richard, Steve and Ed and even the new kids greet me warmly and are eager to help when I walk in the door. It's not just me. Today, I watched as a woman came in, requested info about DHL delivery times, asked if she should bring her package in tomorrow morning, and was told by young Matt that before 1 p.m. would be fine, so no need to rush. Nice. There are UPS Stores closer to where I live in Evanston, but I long ago made the decision to stick with this one because the service is simply better and the attitude is great. read more
