Went in to drop off a package, one employee was with a customer and the other employee with the long ass nails was on the other register. I'm waiting in line not really knowing what to do because I really don't send packages out. Finally the person who was taking care of the customer tells me if it has label you can just scan and drop off. Thank you for finally telling me this. Mean while the other employee with the long nails was just standing there acting like she was doing something but could have helped me or at least directed me in the right direction. I can see how she works, I work with people like this who hate their job. Horrible customer service. But at least now I know I can scan and drop off. Will save me time for next time. read more

Terrible service! Got there at 9:05 today, with a line of at least 4 people. A women was walking around the inside of the store just watching the customers. After several minutes, the women employees (who I presume owns several cats) cracked the door and yelled "we don't open until 10" Before an elderly man could respond with with " I couldn't hear ....what did you say?" Very unfriendly environment! I went in to this store to use their print services, as well as send an item via FedEx. The Manger on call did watch me a bit, without asking if I needed assistance. This felt like profiling at the worst and extremely unfriendly at the best. Ended up not sending my item via FedEx and did not make any additional purchases. I've managed to ship things here a couple of times and it was fine, however, I find it a bit strange to be asked how I will be paying before I know what the cost will be. The whole required ID thing I suppose... Beware if you accidentally leave something there you should know you can only get it back within 7 days in their Lost and Found section. I certainly was not alerted to this policy. I accidentally left a file envelope and due to work travels I didn't get back until three weeks later. I thought it might still be there and that I could get it while dropping off another package. Apparently it has been destroyed, not sure why that makes any sense. read more

I ordered 300 small, double sided flyers that normally cost me .13 cents when ordered online. I needed them last minute for my small business so I knew I'd be spending more than $.13 but FedEx called me after they were printed to tell me my total was $880 - around $3 PER CARD. Of course, I told them this price was absurd, and they said I had the option of purchasing them or they would be thrown away. Infuriating. If you want fair prices from an honest, local business, go to Minuteman Press downtown Evanston or The Copyroom on Dempster. read more

I am very happy that this FedEx Office has opened in this area. I can definitely use this center for a lot of my work needs. From my point of view service was ok, It can be little faster. Nice workers, but they are so excruciatingly slow. It took nearly an hour to ship five boxes! They also told me that they couldn't ship my mini fridge, which is a BLATANT LIE because I ended up shipping it at a different FedEx. Both stores were equipped to pack and ship my mini fridge! This is FedEx policy!! Also, I asked them to write FRAGILE on my packages and they said they couldn't do that because they didn't pack the boxes themselves. This is also a BLATANT LIE -- the second FedEx store I went to told me that there is no reason why this store couldnt've put a "fragile" sticker on my box. I had the best experience here today. I was trying to mail in some textbooks, and was majorly struggling to do so. First, I couldn't find a box small enough to ship my books, and finally found a good-sized shoebox. I spent about 15 minutes taping it up really well so the books wouldn't fall out during transit... Then I stopped by a Fedex drop-box location close to my apartment, only to find out upon arriving that they do not accept Fedex Ground packages... Frustrated, I go back home and it just so happens that my friend could give me a ride on the way to pick up his friend to this location... Upon arriving at the center, I'm told that I cannot use a shoebox to ship items. Heart sinks. But then I'm told I can buy an envelope for only a few bucks, so I run over and grab one. I'm flustered by this point, and after stuffing my textbooks into the envelope, I seal it without putting in the packing slip (why am I so awesome). Instead of being frustrated with me, the two ladies helping me out instead open the envelope, put in the packing slip, and then help me tape it up. Then, as I go to try and remove the shipping label I had basically taped a hundred times over to the top of the shoebox, one of the ladies graciously just takes the entire box to the copy machine so I don't have to untangle the impossible mess... She makes the copy, and then realizes that my printer had printed the label too lightly, and the scanners could not read the barcode. At this point, I'm about to give up - then the ladies offer to have me email over the shipping label, and they print it out for me. And they did all this with a smile. THESE LADIES WERE ABSOLUTE ANGELS. I wish I knew their names, but I do know that they were working at this location on Friday, May 23 at around 4:30PM!! Horrible service. Could not look my account. Could not look up a zip code. Did not have the right size box.

Negative stars. They lost a package and were not able to retrieve or find it in time for my wedding.... Took no accountability and did not call me to update me like a requested. I will be filing a report with corporate and the BBB. Somehow my package was delivered to the facility and within two days was "lost" regardless of the fact that "d. Applewhite" signed for it. The manager told me about 20 packages were delivered with mine and it may have been lost because of that. In my opinion this is a fed ex facility, and 20 packages should be something they can handle without getting one package lost. The staff at this location is incompetent and I am unable to get a refund for my merchandise since "d. Applewhite" scanned my package in as delivered, even though, I, the intended recipient, did not actually receive it. Thanks a lot fed ex, my bridesmaids will have to do without shoes and jewelry for our wedding day. You guys should be super proud of yourselves. Epically horrible customer service. Went in the day after Labor Day for copy and scan services. It is expected that a Tuesday morning after a holiday there is a big need for shipping and business needs. Here was my experience: ONE person on staff running both fed ex and kinkos, SIX people in line. As everyone has said, slow, slow slow. No attempt by the employee to apologize, speed up, or get more help. They need more staff! After waiting in a painfully slow line, I left and went to Quartet Copies in downtown Evanston. read more

After seeing so many 1 star reviews, I thought I'd offer a different experience. I deliberately went to this Green Bay Ave. location at 7:40 AM, hoping to avoid crowds. When I walked in, the worker came over to help me send a labeled package. He was knowledgeable and helpful. I was in and out of the building in under 5 minutes. I just used FedEx to ship a simple gift box (about the size of a shirt box) from Evanston to downtown Chicago. They placed my gift box inside a FedEx box. I didn't think anything of it until the charge came through. I was charged $12.46 for the shipping (which was fine) and $11.99 for a simple brown cardboard box! It was unbelievable--a box that could not have cost FedEx more than 35 cents!!! They are literally making about 1,000 % profit on that box! I was not told the cost of the box at any point until the transaction was completed. This will be my very last trip to FedEx. They should be investigated. read more

Customer service is excellent. They have enough products and items for the consumer. They are clean and maintenance great. Parking space is not as big as the one on dempster and gross pt road located in skokie, il . Even though the other place has traffic in their lot. This place doesnt have space for any kind of congestion. Parking space can be cramped here.And they dont open 24/7. They open 8am to 11 pm. Not sure on morning hours. read more

Their customer service is horrible. I called in to print a few headshots in hard stock glossy paper. I went in within a few hours to pick it up and my headshot was orange-y and the man the at the front desk said it would be $5 a copy. He said he would print it for me (like he was doing me a favor) and normally customers do it themselves on the photo machine. Umm hello? Isn't that your job? I went here to ship computers for recycling. Apple supplied a code to use for this and the documents clearly state that this is for recycling. When the manager here saw a computer in the box, he refused to accept it without "proper packaging". He would not be reasoned with. I offered to smash the computer to bits in his parking lot and put it back in the box. He didn't think that was amusing. I'm sure he was "properly" following a rule but he was either unwilling or unable to be reasonable and use the information at hand to make a customer-friendly decision. FailEx. read more

I have been coming here out of dire need for lack of a 'more complete services' place near by, for at least five years. Each time I loathe to enter. *I agree not ALL the staff is dreadful. There used to be a woman just assigned to the fax service who was kind and efficient and lovely. (Rose or Rosa?).* Today I was treated to Danyea who could not explain back to me what 'formatting a resume' is, why exactly making a font smaller, despite the 7.50$ charge just for that 'service'- and who 'processed' me through multiple meaningless, steps and complications for basic resume services they claim to offer (despite my attempts to be gracious, understanding, respectful and even humorous), he continued to roll his eyes, sigh, wipe his brow for stress sweat, look around for staff support at my obvious annoyingness at requesting services they provide world wide, daily. The feeling was "You are customer and therefore destroying my world" So i agreed to pay for edits through him WHICH IS WHY I CAME THERE, and he could not comprehend what I wanted done. "Just make it fit in the margins". Please. I spelled my name aloud for the re-edit order form. He asked how it was spelled.{REMEMBER THE RESUME AND MULTIPLE COPIES ARE ON THE COUNTER IN FRONT OF BOTH OF US} I spelled it again. He asked if it was spelled correctly, I said no and I respelled my name. And again one more time.[ Adding "Sorry"-like it was my mispronunciation of my own name]. He left it as is. I went in late at night to fax a couple of pages. Tried 3 times on their machine and it did not work. Told the man working and he said they had another Fax behind the counter. He sent the 3 pages through successfully. He said no charge for my hassles . So they really understand customer service! I am back again scanning some docs. Service is very slow here. I went in the middle of the day and there was a line. Really only one person was helpful and the others were chatting with each other and not helping customers. I love this Fedex. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, they are helpful with my projects, and they print my emailed files on the short turnaround I sometimes need. The printers consistently put out high quality output. They are a kind, knowledgeable team. I watch them greet lots of customers by name, help seniors with the technology, manage stressed out people at the Fedex counter, and generally be professional and friendly in a difficult job. I wish I would've read previous reviews before I went here. I just went here to get the funeral brochure for my mothers service printed. At first I was greeted by a very warm kind person, However she was helping another person as well. Another gentleman came to help me, and from the start I felt like I was an annoyance to him. He printed out one brochure for me. It looked great so I asked him to print 250 total. He asked me when I needed it by and I said today or now. Now, I might've been delusional thinking I could get it right away, but that's when I needed it. He looked at me and said "oh no I got several jobs before you." Printing 250 brochures would take a total of 15/20 minutes. It is not a big job. I did not see the printer in use for a previous job. Also, he knew I was printing a Funeral brochure, there was no sensitivity to me, my situation, or any sort of customer service. Instead, he made me feel like a total inconvenience. Tears filled up in my eyes as I said thanks everyone for your help and stormed out of there. Now, again I know I'm extra sensitive at this time. He could have at least given me some options or said I'm sorry we just cannot meet your deadline. I think it is not a lot to ask to be a shown some sort of compassion. read more

But happy to say that I can really second Anne S's comments in that they are super friendly and helpful and focus on getting you on your way quickly. This place is less efficient than the post office. It's incredible. I was on hold for 6 minutes the other day just to ask if they had shredding services available. It arrived damaged and to file a claim it has to go through KINKOS not FedEx. No one will tell you this. I had to find out the hard way with several conflicting stories via FedEx. Had passport photos taken here. The scale was not regulation and the lighting in the photo was way too bright. The employee did two more retakes to try and fix it but the lighting was still bad. Passports are required to show natural skin tones. The employee did the best he could with the equipment provided. I ended up going to CVS west on Central. They were able to produce good quality photos. read more
