I came here for a comedy show for my friend & comedian Lil Rel. He started a comedy night on Tuesdays, and it was an absolute BALL! I was able to find street parking. There are some stairs to get up, but it was very spacious and had a lively ambiance! The comedians were hilarious, and I could definitely see myself coming on consistent Tuesdays with a lineup like that! It felt more underground than the more mainstream comedy spots, which was refreshing & felt like the comedians were hungrier! The service was great, but my only complaint would be a lack of food options. I believe they only had popcorn and perhaps a pretzel. That definitely wasn't sufficient for me for the time we were there! But food aside, it was a great spot and I definitely see myself returning!

The place is a dump, they don't let you in early to at least sit you down and enjoy some food or kick back. The food selection is horrible, they only have hard pretzels that might break a tooth, smelly cheese and some type of plastic sausage that doesn't look healthy at all. The drinks are ok but nothing I would brag about. At least the comedian we came to see was funny otherwise I would have rated even lower. Need new management here

Super sketch area (it is DTLA) BUT there is *free*parking around here or $10 in the lot. I would recommend parking on the street since the guy who came up to us in the lot was not there when we left. He told us that he would watch our car if we parked inside and I said "so if you see someone breaking into the car outside you would just let it happen "? Anyway... Show started around 8 ish and it wasn't a full house but that was good. Felt intimate like an old school comedy show (for those of us old enough to remember what that was like before comedians started doing shows in l a r g e arenas). Drinks were pricy (water=$9, Corona $11, mixed drinks $16+) and there is a 2 drink minimum. Popcorn, candy & pretzels available for $5 in case you have the munchies. If you like a variety of comedy, go check it out.

I came here for a secret comedy show for Max Amini (who I've been following for a while) and had such a great experience! I hadn't heard of this place before, but later found out it's a fairly new spot. Comedy clubs are one of my favorite things to check out, so it's always exciting to discover a new location. The venue itself is super clean, spacious, and well laid out--you can see the stage clearly from just about anywhere you sit. The air conditioning works perfectly (huge plus for a packed comedy show), and there's tons of street parking nearby which makes coming here really easy. Currently, they don't serve food, but they do offer a nice variety of drinks. We also noticed they had snacks available, though they weren't listed on the menu so we didn't check them out. Our waitress was AMAZING. Attentive, personable, and just so sweet. I wish I wrote down her name! Overall, the vibe is great, and I'll definitely be back for more shows!

Fun space for a good night out! 2 drink minimum, but parking was free and our waitress was hilarious!!! Would highly recommend

I've been to this comedy club a couple of times already. The comics they bring are awesome. Jeff Dye is my favorite so far. I also had a couple of cocktails (old fashions I think) the first time and they were great.

I was expecting to laugh a little harder, but that's on me. Next time I'll check who's performing! Overall, I had a great time and would definitely go back. Real mad at the comedy store…read more First, we bought tickets to see Tiffany Haddish. She is an idol of mine. Her sense of humor is off the chain. But last night she was not on her game. She wasn't prepared. She wasn't funny. And she kept asking the audience if they had questions. Now I realize this is not the comedy store's fault. After all, she is a superstar. But what is their fault is that I called ahead and asked if Sunset Boulevard was open after a Watermain break. And they assure me that it was. Well, it wasn't. Which made me 45 minutes late for the show. So the Stage seats that I bought we're not available. And I was relegated to seats near the wall, where the talent was never facing me so you couldn't hear what they were saying. Their voices were muffled and you could only hear half the jokes. And that is the fault of the comedy store. They should have a better sound system that's not muffled so everybody in the audience can hear even if you're near the wall. It's so annoying to be within blocks of your target venue and still be 45 minutes late because of construction. Which they should be well aware of. So my evening was not at all pleasant. I was late for the show. The show sucked. We left halfway through.

The building is old school opened in 1926 as a Vaudeville house so it's always been entertaining. It's had different iterations over the years, most recently the Hayworth Theatre. Then in 2018 it officially became Dynasty Typerwriter Now the theater is in Westlake, right next to MacArthur Park where many of Los Angeles' unhomed population lives. So yes you can search and find street parking, but if you have a nicer car it may be better to just not risk it and park in the nearby parking garage - 611 S Carondelet Street. Rideshare is ideal though. It's a small theater (200 seats) so if you are hoping for a close up seat to see better or get in on some crowd work, you should arrive when doors open. I am quite the opposite and enjoy a good view, but sitting far outside of the crowd-work arena! Give me a good seat on the side back a few rows and I'm happy. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE crowdwork, just not aimed at me. I've seen Tig Notaro and Marc Maron here - obviously both great shows and I enjoyed them! When you sit in the seat, prepare for a little trip. They glide! haha It's kind of weird but kind of fun that they slide a bit but I see it shocking everyone when they first sit down so prepare yourself. They are the kind of seats that start hurting after sitting for an hour so my fellow ADHD peoples, prepare to do a lot of shifting in your seat. They have good canned beer options, including a couple of NA which is nice. Also full concession stand for snacks, including their special popcorn. Staff is friendly and I always enjoy this venue!
